Driver Assist & Collision Avoidance complaints by model year
1. The Electronic Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) module and/or the front passenger-side suspension components failed, causing a complete loss of steering control and an un-commanded, continuous violent pull to the right. Yes, the vehicle and all malfunctioning components are completely intact and available for immediate inspection upon request. 2. Safety was put at extreme risk during highway speeds. The vehicle violently and continuously swerved directly toward the right-hand passenger side. There were 5 total occupants in the SUV, including my daughter-in-law and my three young grandchildren. My [XXX] granddaughter was strapped in a car seat directly next to that right passenger door, placing her in the immediate impact zone of a high-speed crash hazard. I had to physically fight the locked steering wheel with extreme physical force to prevent a catastrophic collision. 3. Not yet. The incident just occurred on XXX, and the vehicle is fundamentally unsafe to operate. It is currently parked and waiting to be transported via a professional flatbed tow truck to Murgado Ford of Chicago for a full mechanical and software diagnostic teardown. I have not yet contacted the dealership because they were unavailable on August 1 and closed on XXX 4. No. The vehicle is currently parked in a safe location in front of my home and has not yet been touched or inspected by any outside parties, police, insurance representatives, or the manufacturer. 5. No. There were absolutely no warning lamps, error messages, dashboard lights, strange noises, or any other symptoms prior to the failure. This catastrophic loss of control happened completely out of nowhere at highway speeds, and nothing like this has ever happened to this vehicle before. Crucially my lane keeping assist feature was manually turned off when this happened, meaning the vehicle overrode the settings to violently pull me to the right. NHTSA complaint #11754307 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
The contact owned a 2025 Ford Bronco Sport. While the contact’s brother-in-law was driving approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle, causing the vehicle to flip over and slide between 50 and 75 yards. During the crash, the Forward Collision Avoidance system failed to activate, and the front driver’s side air bags did not deploy. The driver was later taken to the hospital and treated for a concussion and arm and leg abrasions. A Police report was filed at the scene, and the vehicle was towed away and later deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,500.

I've had a Blindspot warning light alert, told by dealership this is an electrical issue, after a web search, I see this is a common and known issue for Ford, yet no recall has been issued. I also have another know, common powertrain issue with my rear differential. The vehicle makes noise when turning, unstable when driving. The vehicle is less than 5yrs old and under 60k miles. Both issues are safety issues and could cause an electrical fires or vehicle stalling. I am scheduled for a 2nd inspection on 7/31 and hopefully repair.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The vehicle is only a 2022 and has a jerky acceleration during non-highway driving with RPMs fluctuating. The tire, cruise control and seatbelt indicator lights are illuminated with no resolvable issue (the dealer clears them out and they come back). There’s an audible muffler rattle that has been present for a long time that the dealer says is normal. When I fuel up the engine audible bogs down. On a recent road trip to New York the vehicle vapor locked at a gas station and had to be jumped. The vehicle has been nothing but recalls and issues

Front seats Cause back and hip pain and fatigue on trips over 30 mins- head rest don’t adjust to help compensate putting in awkward positioning. The automatic braking or whatever signifies your close to objects in the front has randomly breaked hard with nothing near me almost resulting in being rear rear ended.

We have a video of the incident from our ring camera: [XXX] My daughter pulled our 2022 Bronco Sport out of our driveway onto [XXX] and then made a right turn onto [XXX] After completing the turn, my daughter said the car pulled to the right like the lane assist kicked in and locked and would not allow her to turn the wheel. My daughter does not remember if any warning lights or messages lit up on her dashboard because the whole thing happened within a few seconds. She crashed into our next door neighbors concrete and cinderblock mailbox at low speed and then the Bronco immediately flipped over. The vehicle is at a local tow yard and available for inspection. The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that the daughter had reported that while in a parking lot, the brakes unintendedly engaged, and then the vehicle suddenly accelerated. The driver immediately applied the brakes to stop the vehicle. The contact was able to duplicate the failure while attempting to park the vehicle. The messages "Power Train Malfunction" and "Reduced Power" were displayed, the power train warning light illuminated, and the parking brake warning light flashed continuously. The vehicle was being towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,236.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Adaptive +predictive cruise control malfunction causing 1) sudden vehicle acceleration and 2) Cruise on but disengaged suddenly engaged and set a higher speed than originally set. Merged into light traffic on 4 lane interstate, no other vehicles within 200yds or so. Turned on, then set cruise control at 70mph, about 10 seconds later I felt the car surge, I looked down, saw the cruise indicator now showed 80, tapped the brakes to disengage. About 2 miles later repeated the same but was watching and vehicle repeated same behavior, I turned the system off. About 2 miles later I repeated the same with the same result. Each time set to 70 and within 10-20 seconds vehicle accelerated to a self set higher speed - 80. Problem 2, a few miles later, after a merge onto another interstate the speed limit changed tried this again except this time, as a came out of the curve (doing about 45mph) I turned the cruise on, a few seconds later I look down and watch the cruise indicator turn from white (on but not engaged) to green (on and engaged) without touching the set button. On the return trip I duplicated the acceleration twice more. 4 days later dealership service called to confirm that they reproduced problem 1 and were in contact with the manufacturer for how to proceed. No warning lights or messages, dealership service stated no fault codes.

I purchased the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport in August of 2025. There were issues after about a week with all kinds of messages of components not working cycling through constantly on the display. The electric brake would engage on its own while parked and had to be shut off before I could go forwards after starting the vehicle. I took it to the dealership where I bought it and after a few days they said it was a batter issue and replaced it at no cost to me. It worked okay for a short time and then I had the same issues and now added to those were it wouldn't start for at least 15 minutes and several tries. Cruise Control could not be used and the turn signals would not work while all of the messages were displaying. The windshield wipers would only work at the highest setting and the rear wipers would not work at all. I took it to another Ford Dealership and they said it was an electrical wiring issue that they found. The High Speed Cam wiring is what they found a break in and they fixed it and cleared the codes. I paid $450 for this repair. Just 4 days later the issues have returned. Messages about components not working, this time the right turn signal would not shut off. I am concerned about the safety issues while driving with my turn signal stuck on. I called the same Ford dealership and they can get it in on Friday so that I can have a loaner car. I just don't feel safe driving the Bronco. I don't have the money to loose on trying to trade it in with these issue. Help!!!!

NHTSA complaint #11729602 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
I am submitting a safety concern regarding the 2025 Ford Bronco Off‑Road. Within 24 hours of purchasing my vehicle, a front sensor failed. The dealership reported that the sensor was damaged by a small rock while driving on normal paved roads. The repair cost is approximately $1,500 and is not covered under warranty. My concern is that a critical sensor—part of the vehicle’s safety and driver‑assistance systems—can be disabled by minor road debris. If this component is so vulnerable that everyday driving conditions can render it inoperable, it may pose a broader safety issue for consumers. This appears to be a design vulnerability that could affect many owners, potentially compromising safety features and creating significant financial burden. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether the placement and durability of this sensor meet reasonable safety expectations. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Dash Panel Display blanked out while driving in the morning and was dark out. It happened at least 4 times during a 45min drive into work. Could not see the speed I was going or any gauges which I don't think any of the Safety stuff was working.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., it was already dark, and I relied on my vehicle’s rear parking-aid sensor to assist me while backing out of my driveway. However, the rear collision/parking-aid sensor did not activate and provided no audible or visual warnings. Because the sensor failed to operate, I continued reversing and unintentionally collided with a vehicle parked across the street. The malfunctioning sensor is still installed on the vehicle and is available for inspection upon request. The absence of any warning put my safety and the safety of others at risk, as I had no indication that another vehicle was behind me. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms before the incident, and the failure was first noticed when the expected alert did not occur. After the accident, I contacted a Ford dealership and confirmed that the sensor had not activated at the time of the incident. I also verified afterward, in daylight conditions, that the sensor does work normally and provides warnings when objects are behind the vehicle. The issue has not yet been reproduced or inspected in person by a dealer or an independent service center, and the manufacturer has not examined the component. My insurance company has been notified of the collision.
