A/C compressor not coming on when cabin A/C does. This means it is also not coming on to cool the battery, which could prevent proper battery thermal management, raising safety and performance risks in hot climates. A/C compressor and inverter have been replaced without resolving the issue. It has been to two dealerships that independently diagnosed the problem as the A/C compressor. The car is currently at Allen Turner Genesis in Pensacola, FL so it should be available for inspection. There were no warning lamps illuminated.

This complaint is in regards to Safety Recall 272 Component Failure and Vehicle Disabling / SOS System Failure On [XXX], at approximately [XXX] PM, I was driving my Genesis vehicle during rush hour when I heard a loud popping sound. Immediately following the sound, the dashboard displayed a critical warning light stating: "Electrical Charging System Fault — Check Electrical System." Because I was actively driving in heavy rush-hour traffic, this sudden loss of charging system functionality posed an immediate safety hazard. I pressed the in-vehicle "SOS" button to contact Genesis emergency services. The operator, who identified himself as "Eddie," refused to dispatch a tow truck to assist me. Instead, he offered to read a phone number aloud for me to write down. I explained that I was actively operating a malfunctioning vehicle in heavy traffic and could not safely write down information, but he still refused to call for emergency towing. I managed to safely limp the vehicle back to my residence and subsequently arranged for the local dealership, Genesis of Las Vegas, to tow the vehicle. On Friday, June 5, 2026, the dealership confirmed that the vehicle had suffered a failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), which also destroyed the 12V battery. They informed me that this failure was directly tied to NHTSA Safety Recall 272 (Integrated Charging Control Unit). While the dealership performed the ICCU remedy, they are currently refusing to release my vehicle unless I pay $500.00 for the replacement of the 12V battery. Because the 12V battery was directly damaged as a consequential result of the recalled ICCU defect, it should be covered under the safety recall remedy and vehicle warranty. As of this reporting, the dealer is holding my vehicle hostage over this fee, and Genesis Motor America has failed to resolve the issue despite a formal complaint being filed with them. I purchased a used 2023 Genesis GV60 on [XXX] from a franchised Genesis dealer in New Jersey (Genesis of Wayne, Wayne, NJ). At the time of delivery, the vehicle had an open safety recall with an available remedy and it was not completed prior to sale/delivery. After purchase, Genesis’ official recall/campaign lookup for my VIN showed at least one open safety recall listed as “Incomplete.” The dealer had represented that recalls were addressed, but Genesis’ system continued to show the safety recall as open. Vehicle: 2023 Genesis GV60 VIN: [enter full VIN] Recall/Campaign information shown as open/incomplete: •Campaign/Recall 027G (NHTSA Recall No. 25V474000) – Instrument panel cluster display may go blank (software update). Status shown as incomplete at/after delivery. •[If applicable] Campaign/Recall 028G – [Windshield molding / other campaign], status shown as incomplete at/after delivery. I am submitting this report because the vehicle was delivered to a consumer with an open safety recall that had an available remedy, and the manufacturer’s own system indicated the recall remained incomplete. I can provide supporting documentation upon request (Genesis recall lookup screenshots showing “Incomplete,” dealer sale paperwork, and communications). Upon startup, the dashboard cluster that displays safety information and the speedometer did not power on until several minutes had passed. This happens randomly. This console includes the safety warning information and the speedometer and is not the infotainment screen (which worked as it should). This has not been reported to the dealership yet, though the issue is known and discussed on several owner forums.

Ever since the update that came to my car last October (update 24.11.1), the instrument cluster screen of my car does not turn on initially upon starting the car around half the time I start it. It will turn on eventually, varying in time anywhere from 1-10 minutes later. My local dealership has yet been able to fix it and tell me they have no idea why this would be happening and over the many attempts to fix this and many service appointments they now say that they need to replace the entire display but that none of available and not sure when they will be. Reading through the owners forums, I am not alone with this issue [XXX] ) Obviously, the car isn't safe to drive this way even though I continue to make my monthly payments to Genesis, so hoping someone can help me. (I've included two photos for reference...one where you can see the instrument cluster information screen off and then about 5 minutes later when it turned on.) When starting the car on cold mornings--parked outside, under a carport--the instrument cluster is blank. It stays blank for two to seven or so minutes, whether or not the car is being driven. This only happens on the cold days, and didn't happen last winter. When the display comes on, it doesn't register the miles that were driven while it was blank. Using the pre-warm climate function before staring the vehicle--so, warming up the car--will cause the instrument cluster to work even on cold days, but that shouldn't need a workaround.

At random occurrences during car startup, the instrument cluster remains blank and can take up to several minutes to “wake up”. Since no cluster-related information such as speedometer or safety and diagnostic lights is available at this time, the car remains un-drivable until it eventually resolves. Should it occur while the car is being driven, it can pose a significant safety risk as none of the vehicle’s warning lights on the cluster are available. This problem first began to occur after the latest OTA software updated, though it’s not absolutely clear if this is the cause of the issue.

Over the air updates are a prominent feature of the car that Genesis touts. The car's firmware gets updated including operating issues, brake system and throttle campaigns, safety fixes, and navigation get updated. The updates have been a big issue. Earlier this year an OTA update wiped out every user setting including steering, adaptive cruise and other safety related settings. This was an annoyance but could be corrected in a couple of hours for each driver's settings. In June, a new OTA update was sent out that was corrupted. US vehicles had the update get stuck at 63% completion. My car has been at Genesis service and the head unit now needs to be replaced since there is no way (USB stick or OTA) to reset the firmware. This may affect all US vehicles. It is not obvious unless one checks on the firmware version and gets screens like the ones I've attached. Because not being able to receive updates is not obvious, Genesis should be required to notify owners if their firmware has not and cannot be updated without a head unit replacement.

My Car Has a charging port that overheats. It consistently overheats whenever I charge it at the full speed that the vehicle is rated for, 11.5kw (48amp 240V) and their solution, was to slow my charge rate down, once the port overheats, NOT FIX THE ISSUE, it still overheats.
