Honda GL1500 recalls in Canada

Transport Canada runs its own recall programme. Its campaigns do not always mirror the American ones, so a Canadian owner reading a US-only list is reading about a different car than the one on their driveway.

Lights And Instruments

On certain GL1500C motorcycles, the metal stay or rubber support of the rear turn signal may fail, which could cause the rear turn signal light to be out of position. This may cause the turn signal not to be visible to other drivers. Correction: Rear signal light stay and rubber support will be replaced.

1989 Honda GL1500 Recall 1995120 27 Jun 1995 3,419 units in Canada

Fuel System

On certain GL1500, GL1500A, GL1500I, GL1500SE, ST1100 and ST1100A, if the bank angle sensor's plastic case material is exposed to high temperature for a prolonged period of time, it may become slightly porous, and the damping fluid may permeate the case material causing less damping force to be exerted on the pendulum. Abrupt turns or riding over bumpy surfaces might allow a sensor with below normal damping levels, to shut off the engine unexpectedly. Correction: The bank angle sensor will be replaced.
