Transport Canada runs its own recall programme. Its campaigns do not always mirror the American ones, so a Canadian owner reading a US-only list is reading about a different car than the one on their driveway.

2002 Honda VFR800 Recall 2005016 24 Jan 2005 4,368 units in Canada

Brakes

On certain motorcycles, an improperly shaped seal in the brake proportioning control valve could allow brake fluid leakage to occur. With continued use, a leak in the proportioning valve would cause the rear brake to eventually become inoperative. Although the front brake provides most of the braking function, a loss of rear brake force could increase the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the brake proportioning valve.
