Theses templates dosent recognize the key and kicks on the security system which stops the motor from turning on. So you are stuck for 10 minutes then you can try again all so sometimes the motor tries to turn on by just sticking the key in the ignition before you even turn it. By looking at youtube alot of the H3s and the Colorados do this

The contact owned a 2007 Hummer H3. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the AC was turned on, and the contact became aware of smoke entering the cabin of the vehicle. The smoke was coming from the front passenger's side underneath the dashboard. The AC was turned off, and the smoke ceased. The contact exited the vehicle and went into the store. The contact exited the store and was informed by a shopper that the vehicle was on fire. The vehicle was unoccupied. The fire was coming from underneath the hood of the vehicle. The Fire Department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. The Fire Inspector informed the contact that the fire was a thermal event related to HVAC wiring. In addition, the contact was informed of an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not associated with a recall related to the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The charred remains of the vehicle were towed to a local tow yard. A Police report was filed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 197,000.

Category: Recall Reimbursement Problem NHTSA Complaint Description I am filing a complaint regarding General Motors’ refusal to reimburse an out-of-pocket repair related to Safety Recall N150042 on my 2009 Hummer H3 (VIN: [XXX] ). On December 31, 2025, I paid $946.06 out-of-pocket to correct the defect covered by Recall N150042 (blower motor connector module). The repair was performed at Coleman Buick GMC Cadillac in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. A complete reimbursement package was submitted to GM. GM has denied reimbursement, claiming that this recall was previously repaired in 2016. However: • No documentation has been provided to support that claim. • No repair order number has been provided. • No servicing dealer or repair location has been identified. • No proof of recall closure documentation has been produced. • No warranty claim record has been provided. Despite repeated requests, GM has refused to provide any evidence that Recall N150042 was completed in 2016. The defect was present in 2025 and was corrected by a GM-authorized dealership. If the recall had truly been completed in 2016, documentation should exist and be readily producible. GM is refusing reimbursement of $946.06 without providing supporting documentation of prior recall completion. This appears to involve either improper recall recordkeeping, improper VIN recall closure, or failure to comply with federal recall reimbursement requirements under 49 U.S.C. § 30120. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 122,791 and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 122,799 but additional documents also showed that the mileage was unchanged over a 3-year period.

On the electrical, I refer to my air conditioning and heater. When I have my air selection to coldest and I drop 1 click for it to be less cool, my heater turns on and at times it smells like something burning. I have to turn it off . On the engine, after I hit 90,000 miles, I have to fill up my engine oil every 2-3 weeks because my vehicle is burning it quick or something. It doesn't leak oil at all. The oil just seems like it's burning somewhere and I ha e to be waisting money to buy oil $30 to $60 a month. Please help. Thank you!

The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic on two occasions; however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure as the vehicle would restart as needed while at the dealer. The contact owns a 2008 Hummer H3. The contact stated that upon shifting into drive (D) or reverse (R) the doors of the vehicle would unlock automatically. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that upon pressing the power master door lock switch to lock the vehicle, all four doors were unlocked. Additionally, the contact stated after refilling the gas tank at the gas station, the vehicle failed to restart and made an abnormal clicking sound. The contact stated that upon inspecting the hood of the vehicle, he saw flames on the positive side of the battery and the flames extended to the oil stick. The contact was able to extinguish the fire by taping it with a towel. The vehicle failed to start and remained at the gas station. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 132,000.

ON 3/13/2020 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2007 HUMMER H3 WHEN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND DASH AREA CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE BLOWER MOTOR CONNECTOR MODULE HAD BEEN REPLACED RECENTLY AS PART OF A SAFETY RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND SHE HAD JUST MADE A LEFT TURN. ALTHOUGH THE PART HAD BEEN REPLACED, I STILL BELIEVE THAT THIS RECALL ISSUE WAS THE CAUSE OF SAID FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CALLED IT AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THERE WAS NO WARNING AT ALL. THIS WAS TRAUMATIC FOR MY WIFE SHE HAD TO JUMP OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND HAD A MISCARRIAGE.

IT STARTED DOING THIS AS THE WEATHER GOT COLDER BUT THIS H3 IS WELL MAINTAINED AND IS GARAGE KEPT AND I ONLY USE IT TO DRIVE TO AND FROM WORK. IT IS NOW A SAFETY HAZARD AND WITH THESE ISSUES WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TRADE IT IN. I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE TO START IN ORDER TO FIX IT. RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE IS TO WAIT 10 MIN, STILL NO LUCK. WAITING 15 MIN SEEMED TO WORK BEFORE, BUT NOW IT DOESN'T. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO BE SAFELY IN THE VEHICLE, DRIVE SOMEWHERE AND THEN IT STALLS AGAIN? I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND HAVEN'T HAD THIS ISSUE UNTIL IT STARTED 4 WEEKS AGO.
