ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:HARD PARTS INTERNAL/MECHANICAL

Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. (Kawasaki) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Ninja ZX-6R, ZX-6R KRT Edition, ZX-6R KRT 40th Anniversary Edition ABS, ZX-6R ABS, and ZX-6R KRT Edition ABS motorcycles. The motorcycles may lose engine power during operation due to seizure of a metal crankshaft bushing.

Risk: An engine stall increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Owners are advised not to ride their motorcycles until the repair has been completed. Dealers will re-tighten the metal crankshaft bushing, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 15, 2025. Motorcycles in this recall that were previously repaired under recall 25V376 will need to have the new remedy performed, once available. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:HARD PARTS INTERNAL/MECHANICAL

Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. (Kawasaki) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Ninja ZX-6R motorcycles. The motorcycles may lose engine power during operation due to seizure of a metal crankshaft bushing.

Risk: An engine stall increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Owners are advised not to ride their motorcycles until the repair has been completed. The #5 metal crankshaft bushing must be inspected on all eligible units already in operation. If there is no abnormality with or damage to the bushing, the bolts holding the crankshaft together in the crank case must be re-tightened with proper torque. If there is any abnormality with or damage to the bushing, the parts must be replaced and the crankshaft properly tightened, or the engine must be otherwise repaired or replaced. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification. Owners may contact KMC customer service at 1-866-802-9381. This recall was replaced by 25V798.

On certain motorcycles, the crankshaft bolts may have been over-tightened during production. As a result, a crankshaft bushing could become damaged. If this happens, the engine could stall while driving. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-335. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Kawasaki advises not to ride your motorcycle until the recall repairs are completed. Issue: On certain motorcycles, engine vibrations may cause the wiring for the horn to break. If this happens, the horn will not work. Safety Risk: Without a working horn, a rider may not be able to warn of an unsafe situation. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Kawasaki will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to modify the wiring for the horn.

On certain motorcycles, the voltage regulator can overheat, causing uncontrolled current output which can provide insufficient charge to the battery. This can cause engine stalling and/or an inability to start the engine. Engine stalling would result in lost vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road condition, and the rider's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the voltage regulator.
