2026 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid Palm Harbor, FL

SERVICE BRAKES

1. Brake System Failure-Recurring dashboard warnings including “Brake Power Low” and “Secondary Collision Brake System Malfunction.” Warnings have appeared multiple times, including while towing a travel trailer. The vehicle was diagnosed with related fault codes (including DTC C138071 – Stop Lamp Relay). The problem returned after a dealer service visit. I do not consider the vehicle safe to drive or tow while these warnings are active. 2.Issue 2 – Engine (Metal Debris / Elevated Iron) Metal filings and shavings have been found repeatedly on the magnetic oil drain plug. An independent laboratory oil analysis (Blackstone Laboratories) showed iron levels approximately 2.7 times higher than the normal average after only about 4,000 miles on the oil. This indicates abnormal internal engine wear.

Active Technical Service Bulletin that was not disclosed by Toyota or my dealer. The brakes make a piercing metal on metal noise when placed in reverse. I've been told this is not a safety issue, there will be no longer term impacts, and it is safe to drive. The issue however is that Toyota is limiting distribution of available repair parts, so I am on a 5-6 month wait list with my dealer. Bulletin is: T-SB-0046-25 Rev2

2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid Scottsdale, AZ

SERVICE BRAKES

My 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser has exhibited persistent brake squealing since the day it was purchased. The noise occurs during normal braking conditions and has been present from the very first use of the vehicle. This is not a break-in issue, as it has never resolved on its own. Despite initially denying the issue, Toyota and the dealership have since acknowledged the problem and confirmed the existence of a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) addressing brake noise on this vehicle. However, despite multiple contacts with both the dealership and Toyota Motor North America directly, no corrective action has been taken, and the defect remains unresolved. This constitutes a known manufacturing defect acknowledged by Toyota themselves. The failure to remedy a documented TSB issue in a timely manner is unacceptable and may constitute a violation of warranty obligations.

Everytime I put my car in reserve the brakes screech so long. I have noticed it on other Land Cruisers as well. I am fearful of something happening with the brakes. Safety is obviously a priority and I have not seen anything from Toyota on this.

2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid Huntsville, TX

SERVICE BRAKES

Distance between the road and the underside of the wheel arches in the rear differs by 1.25 inches. Rear sagging to the left. Left rear spring weaker than right rear. Accentuated body lean when taking a right hand turn. Same load over each wheel causes more compression on the left spring versus the right spring. Toyota states the right to left is equal...this is not case.

Brakes are extremely loud especially when backing up

2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid Saint Joseph, MO

SERVICE BRAKES

At startup in garage in subfreezing condition. I put vehicle in reverse and brakes did not engage at normal pedal pressure. I had to push the brakes with extreme force to slow down the backwards movement. I did not think I would be able to stop the car. I had driven the vehicle the night before in wintery conditions and parked in my detached unheated garage. I feel like there may have been ice build up on the brake pads/rotors. Has not happened again but I have not had the exact same conditions. Will note the engine was revving at a little higher rpm because it was very cold out and was at start-up (normal behavior) but created a bit more force in reverse. There would have been a collision if something were behind me, it took that long to stop.

2025 Land Cruiser bought 7 months ago constant rattling and tapping noise near passenger rear near pillar B and C. Brought to the dealer for corrective action to identify, address and to resolve the problem due to annoying ticking, rattling and tapping noise while travelling on a rough road. According to a service adviser their mechanics from dealer dismantled panels and head liners to pinpoint noise and find out that, the noises is located near pillar C and pillar B. As recommendation by the service adviser the Land Cruiser needed to be bring to a car body shop to reweld parts from both pilar B and C that was creating the rattling noise. I believe the 2025 Land Cruiser have a manufacturer welding defects that creating the rattling and tapping noise which is needed to be thoroughly investigated. Pillars a, b, c, and d on cars which have welding defects can compromise the safety of the vehicles and its occupants. 1. It weakens the structure and reduce crashworthiness. 2.Failure of welded components will reduce strength and load bearing. 3.Risk of cabin collapse. 4.It impact on safety features this areas is where airbags and safety belts been supported. 5. Welded defects will increase risk of accidents and injury.

Vehicles brakes squeal when reversing on startup after vehicle has been allowed to sit. Braking at 10mph or slower is not smooth and has an abrupt sudden loss when transitioning from the energy regeneration to the hydraulic brakes.

2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid Tampa, FL

SERVICE BRAKES

The brakes when in reverse squeal the loudest I have ever heard in a car (even those that I have had over 150K miles. The car, with only 4272 miles on it, is now doing this pretty much each time I go in reverse. Today, 5/30/2025 the dealership was able to reproduce the problem. However, they say that Toyota has not made a remedy available. This is disturbing considering it is the brakes and the noise is loud. To me, squealing brakes indicate brakes that could fail - that is a safety concern.

Brakes on a relatively brand new vehicle are squealing and creating a metal on metal sound. I am worried that the brakes on this vehicle are going to fail and cause a serious safety issue.

Brakes are squealing when in reverse. After the vehicle has not been driven for a day or even parked for more than an hour. Placing the vehicle in reverse, when backing out of the carport and turning the steering wheel to the left, there is a bad brake squeal. Had the same issue on my 2024 Toyota Tundra. That was fixed under T-SB-0043-24. The 2022-2024 Lexus GX550 has the same issue and has had a Service Bulletin issued L-SB-0036-24. The GX550 and Toyota Landcruiser use the same brakes. Dealership will do nothing till a SB is issued.

2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid Calabasas Hills, CA

SERVICE BRAKES

Brakes are squealing when in reverse. This was a known issue with 2022-2024 Toyota Tundra's. The service bulletin was number T-SB-0043-24 to change out front rotors and brake pads and mounting hardware. After that no more squeal. It was coming from the front end when backing up. The same issue is occurring on the 2024-2025 Toyota Land Cruiser's. I have attached 2 videos showing the squeal. After the vehicle has not been driven for a day or two, on a cold start and placing the vehicle in reverse, when backing out of the driveway and turning the steering wheel to the left, there is a bad brake squeal. The vehicle was purchased new with 13 miles on it and currently has 325 miles on it and the problem started when vehicle was purchased. I have the incidents on video and can provide if needed for proof.
