After driving my vehicle for about 40 min with the AC blower at full speed, the relay located in the trunk power distribution box melted, affecting sections of the female plug and wire ends. Right after the event, the blower stopped working and I found out many owners have reported this same issue. Upon inspection at the dealership, they recommended to replace the blower motor, power module (modern resistor) and for my surprise, the entire power distribution box and wire loom all the way to the BCM. They said wires and connections have been compromised by the excessive heat. At the dealership, the service department was convinced the root cause of the problem was the blower motor, normally those bearings tend to fail and consume more current but nothing beyond that was discussed. After exchanging with the dealership about part numbers, I realized that the AC blower part number for my car was superseded (68320172AA was replaced by 68353201AA) to eliminate that known problem. Stellantis introduced a superseded blower motor assembly with improved internal mechanics to prevent this excessive current draw. Interestingly, industry parts data shows the redesigned motor is not only more robust, but it is actually significantly cheaper to replace than the flawed 2017-2019 OEM units. Although Stellantis is aware of this flaw, there is no TSB or warranty coverage for this problem. Each 2017-2019 owner has to pay out of pocket for this expensive repairs or like in my case charge the Mopar service plan (thanks god I paid for it). I would ask the Agency to investigate the actual fire risk of this problem, I'm pretty sure there are many drivers out there completely unaware of this, running very hot relays. The fuse in the circuit won't work prior to the relays melting allowing wires to overheat. Others drivers have reported this in forums but most just change the relay only. My car is still at the dealership waiting on the power module (it has been there since June 15th)

The vehicle is subject to Alfa Romeo Safety Recall 93C (NHTSA Campaign 25V586) for a defective Fuel Delivery Module. The safety defect is an active, un-remedied hazard. The vehicle is currently located at [Name of Alfa Romeo Dealership] for an official diagnosis and is available for inspection. The vehicle has an active safety recall for sudden, catastrophic engine stalling at highway speeds due to fuel pump warping. Because the manufacturer has not provided a remedy or a safe alternative transport, I am forced to choose between driving a vehicle with an acknowledged highway-stalling hazard or being completely deprived of my transportation. The vehicle cannot be safely operated in commerce until Recall 93C is performed. The vehicle is currently undergoing inspection by the manufacturer's authorized technicians at the Alfa Romeo dealership. It has also been reviewed administratively through a claim with the National Center for Dispute Settlement (NCDS), which was denied based on mileage despite the active federal safety recall. The vehicle displayed an "Excessive Oil" warning and experienced heavy smoking from the engine bay beginning around June 25, 2026. While the vehicle has also been undergoing cooling system repairs, the presence of these severe engine warnings and thermal symptoms creates an immediate escalation of risk when combined with the active 93C fuel pump recall.

In Feb 2025, I was involved in an accident where a driver damaged my driver's side door. I brought my car to the Fix Auto Downtown LA location for repairs. Cosmetically the door was repaired, but over the next year my latch would temporarily lock, preventing access and requiring me to enter through my passenger side door/climb over the center console. In Feb 2026, the latch permanently closed. In Jan 2026, I hit debris on the freeway, which required a repair of my front bumper and undercarriage. I had moved from LA to Orange County, and went to the Fix Auto Yorba Linda location to remediate the door repair and address the new damage. The date of repair for both items was April 15, 2026, as I was unable to make time for an immediate appointment. I received the car back on May 5, 2026, and noticed the front collision error light was turned on, the parking collision mode worked only intermittently, and I had difficulty one time the next day with my door opening (was stuck partially latched/open and my gas cap would not open). The door and gas cap worked after the incident, but, due to both repair shops' lack of quality work, I'm skeptical that the initial problem was remediated. I would like to request both the Fix Auto Downtown Los Angeles and Yorba Linda locations be investigated for returning my vehicle in an unsafe condition. The repetition in the state of repairs indicates potential negligence from Fix Auto.

Car suddenly got p018c & p018b codes along with (setc) notification while on freeway and continuously would go in and out of limp mode when accelerating or breaking which nearly caused me to crash. when arriving home I check my fuel pump relay and it looked burnt or overheated, I tried replacing sensors as well as relays but the problem remains whenever accelerating or breaking at low speed now, just without the check engine light.

My 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia, VIN [XXX] , is currently disabled and inoperable at the authorized dealer, Alfa Romeo Fiat of Daytona (Service Advisor: Kevin Chapman). The vehicle is subject to the active and known Safety Recall 93C (Low-Pressure Fuel Pump). My vehicle is experiencing a total loss of motive power and engine stall, which is the exact safety hazard described in the recall. Furthermore, the initial failure of the low-pressure fuel system appears to have caused secondary consequential damage to the expensive High-Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP), and the vehicle is also exhibiting a severe and recurring electrical defect (new battery dying, random dash warnings/brake lights flashing). The manufacturer, FCA/Stellantis (Customer Care Case #XXX...), and the dealer are engaging in a runaround to deny basic safety recall provisions: 1. Refusal to Cover Consequential Damage: FCA Customer Care stated that if the issue is 'not the 93C recall then it will all be customer pay,' which conflicts with NHTSA guidelines requiring the manufacturer to remedy the primary defect and all damage proximately caused by it. 2. Refusal to Provide Loaner/Rental Car: FCA stated the loaner is up to the dealer, and the dealer stated it is up to the diagnostic. This runaround has created an unreasonable delay in the repair of a federally mandated safety recall, leaving the owner without transportation for a disabled, unsafe vehicle. I am requesting NHTSA intervention to compel FCA/Stellantis to: a) Authorize a complimentary rental car/loaner until the vehicle is fully repaired. b) Provide a formal commitment that all damage proven to be a direct, proximate consequence of the 93C fuel pump failure will be covered at no cost. Very scary, I have a 2017 Giulia Ti that just hit 100k miles. Even took it to the dealership and they couldn't explain it. Let me start by stating that this incident is just one of many occurrences that has happened to me with this vehicle. I was driving down a straight highway that was pretty heavily congested with traffic of other vehicles, when all of a sudden I felt a loss of power with the vehicle and some error codes came up on the dashboard indicating the engine needed to be serviced, start & stop was unavailable, and to service electronic throttle control. I also noticed that the vehicle driving mode had switched by itself from Dynamic to Natural mode. After a few short seconds, I felt the RPMs drop completely to zero and I felt a loss of the power steering as well because the engine had shut down completely in the middle of highway traffic. As I was driving on the left lane of a two lane highway, I had to immediately pull over to the right side shoulder, nearly being hit by vehicles behind me as the Alfa Romeo Giulia stalled and immediately cut my speed. I was parked on the right shoulder of the highway with my hazard lights on and put the vehicle into Park. When I tried to restart the engine, it just cranked over for a long time before finally turning on. The same error codes popped up on the dashboard indicating the problem was still there. I tried to continue driving down the highway but the engine kept on shutting itself off and the issue persisted. Eventually I had to call a local friend who has a trailer to help me tow my vehicle back home. The vehicle, when scanned, released the code P008A which indicates a low pressure fuel system error. I have read that this issue is currently being investigated by the NHTSA and would like to clarify and state that this is indeed a very dangerous safety issue and it should be dealt with accordingly.

Dear NHTSA, I am writing to report a serious safety incident involving my vehicle. On [XXX] at approximately [XXX], while driving to an extracurricular activity for my [XXX] child, my vehicle displayed the following warning messages: “Service Engine,” “Service Electronic Throttle Control,” and “Start/Stop Unavailable.” Immediately after these warnings appeared, the vehicle shut off and shifted into neutral. I lost the ability to steer, creating a highly dangerous situation. I was on a busy road approaching an interstate entrance and had to react quickly to avoid a potential accident. Fortunately, I was able to maneuver the vehicle safely to the side of the road, but I believe this malfunction presents a serious risk to public safety and should be investigated. Alfa Romeo Giulia (and Stelvio) models have an exposed powertrain ground strap under the vehicle body. Because of the exposed position of the ground strap it is prone to corrosion which causes the fine wire braid of the ground strap to become brittle and break. Breaking of the strands of wire is further accelerated due to the acute 90 degree bend in the ground strap routing resulting in wire fatigue. When the ground strap fails it is typical the vehicle may not start. With continued attempts to start, alternate grounding paths may be sought by the current from the starting circuit. This results in substantial and expensive damage to other wiring and electrical components within the engine bay. Alfa Romeo is aware of design flaw of exposed ground strap and the resulting damage from their choice of placement (and lack of protection of the ground strap). Both my 2018 Giulia nd 2023 Stelvio Quadrifoglio have this exposed ground strap design. My 2018 Giulia has failed ground strap. Alfa Romeo will advise that washing the underside of the vehicle is required to keep ground strap free of corrosion. This is not a solution and underbody rinses are typically one spray bar in the car wash and this is insufficient to clean the woven ground strap braid. Alfa Romeo should be forced to issue a recall and remedy this design oversight.

The contact owns a 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the horn was inoperable and there was no audible sound while depressed. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the horn failure was caused by an air bag clock spring failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000.
