Still no remedy for the recall. Mopar and the Alfa Romeo dealership have not contacted me regarding fixing the problem. A class action lawsuit needs to be filed

Engine light came on. I was told by the first dealership that the coolant was mixing with the engine oil. There was also a vehicle at the shop there for the same issue. after doing some research online, it appears that this is a bigger issue. I bought the car at 20,000 miles and this began happening around 52000 miles. Given the low mileage, this is something that should not be happening to a newer car.

Back in December 2025 my engine light had come on, upon bringing it to the dealership I had found out that the engine oil and the coolant were mixing. A repair was done to stop this from happening three months later the same issue happened only the previous dealership was no longer servicing Alpha Romeos so I brought it to the only dealer left a mass. I was told that they botched the repair at the previous dealer. Now, three months later from then my engine light is back on again and the same thing is happening. but since neither truly actually repaired the issue now, I’m being told that there’s an issue with my engine. From the beginning when I first brought it to the dealership, this was not an issue. I was actually told that the engine was not misfiring at all, and the engine appeared to be good.My car was not the only one there for this issue so clearly this is a known issue. I also began looking online and realized that there are a lot of people that have this issue so I did bring it to Alfa Romeo‘s attention I feel like at this point the dealerships are making it worse because they’re not fixing the actual issue. I’m also being told this time around that, it was only a temporary fix which I was never told the first two times that they fixed it. No vehicle with 50,000 miles should be having these types of issues. I feel like there is a bigger issue that needs to be addressed within the manufacturer.

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V586000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH and merging onto the highway, the vehicle entered Low Power Mode, forcing the contact to pull over to the side of the road. The contact then drove to the residence, where the vehicle was turned off and restarted, and the messages "Service Engine" and "Service Throttle Control" were displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the fuel system was bled. The dealer later informed the contact that the high-pressure fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the high-pressure fuel pump and the fuel delivery module (FDM) were replaced in July 2025. The contact related the failure to the recall. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.

The engine oil cooling system failed on my 2021 Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2.0T at approximately 45,000 miles. The failure caused engine oil to contaminate the engine coolant system, creating a brown/milky “milkshake” substance inside the coolant reservoir and throughout the cooling system. The dealership diagnosed the issue as an internal oil cooler/oil filter housing failure. The contamination affected multiple cooling system components, and the dealership estimated approximately $8,300 in repairs, including replacement of multiple cooling system parts. The manufacturer offered partial goodwill assistance toward the repair cost. Prior to diagnosis, the vehicle displayed low coolant and low oil symptoms. I had to add approximately one quart of engine oil. I am concerned this premature failure could create a safety risk due to possible overheating or engine failure while driving. The vehicle had been maintained normally and had not previously overheated. The issue was confirmed by an authorized Alfa Romeo dealership.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding serious engine issues I have experienced with my Alfa Romeo vehicle. The ongoing mechanical problems have created significant inconvenience, financial hardship, and concerns regarding the safety and reliability of the vehicle. Since owning the vehicle, I have experienced persistent engine-related problems including [loss of power/engine stalling/check engine light/oil consumption/rough idling/etc.]. Despite attempts to address the issue through repairs and maintenance, the problem continues to occur. These recurring issues have negatively impacted my ability to reliably use the vehicle for daily transportation. In addition, I am concerned that these issues may reflect a manufacturing defect or unresolved mechanical problem that has not been properly corrected. I have made efforts to have the vehicle inspected and repaired, yet the condition persists, resulting in continued frustration and unexpected expenses. I respectfully request the following: * reimbursement for repair costs related to the engine issue * Documentation regarding any recalls, technical service bulletins, or known engine defects associated with this model * Assistance in resolving this matter promptly and fairly I would appreciate a written response outlining the next steps to resolve this complaint. I experienced an unexpected Loss of Motive Power (LOMP) event. Late afternoon traffic was fast, estimate 75-80 MPH. I attempted to change lanes get to the righthand shoulder and was very nearly involved in a high-speed collision with a semi-petroleum tank truck. He applied his brakes to avoid hitting me and started to jackknife, but regained control and continued. The truck missed by inches. At this point I had NO remaining power and was essentially coasting until I managed to cross the remaining two lanes of traffic to the shoulder emergency lane. I reset the error codes and continued home with no further occurrences. The incident produced the following warning lamps: Electronic Throttle Control Failure, Start/Stop System Failure and Check Engine, then a few seconds later the Limp Mode/LOMP event. I carry an OBD Scanning Tool with me to be able to clear the error codes when I encounter them. They are typically a cascading event that can result in LOMP. I have experienced a total of 26 of these error lamp events since 4/19/22 which have resulted in 3 LOMP's. The remaining 23 events I was able to reset before the inevitable LOMP. This is the first LOMP that nearly caused a fatal accident, the remainder I was able to safely find a place to stop to perform the resets. There is an active Manufacturer Recall Number93C, NHTSA Recall Number25V-586 that may cover this issue. The Recall Status is "Incomplete, remedy not yet available." The Alfa Romeo dealership has noted the P0191-00 error and replaced the fuel pressure sensor on 2/23/23, but this did not solve the problem. Owner's forums, and now the Manufacturer/NHTSA recall have reported this as a known problem, so I have been clearing my own error codes in order to at least have a car to drive. In my mind, this nuisance has now become a potentially very dangerous condition.

The vehicle suddenly loss power while I was driving on a busy interstate. I was almost rear-ended by the vehicle behind me. I had to coast my vehicle to the shoulder of the road crossing lanes of traffic without power! It was terrifying. I could have been wrecked our worse! The check engine lights flashed on saying: "Service Electronic Throttle Control" and "Start / Stop unavailable". I took the car to get it checked out and I was told that this is a common problem currently under recall for the 2018 models, but not my 2020. The mechanic says the scanner code is P008A, a fuel system problem which is likely a faulty fuel pump.

November 26th my car went into LOMP mode. But then restored itself. December 3rd my car went into LOMP mode again and had not recovered along with a slew of ALARMS. I have been using uber and rental cars since this issue. Highly likely this is a fuel pump issue but unable to determine as the authorized shop is 2hours away and the car will not make it there. I need a remedy I have been out of a car for months now and the recall has no remedy!

Manufacturer Recall Number: 93C NHTSA Recall Number: 25V-586 VIN: [XXX] After learning about this recall, I have experienced the exact issues described. When the vehicle is exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures, the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) warning light illuminates, along with the check engine light and the auto stop-start warning light. When this occurs, the vehicle begins to sputter and loses power. It will not properly a-ccelerate and significantly reduces speed while driving. This creates a serious safety hazard, especially in traffic or at highway speeds. A sudden loss of power or inability to accelerate could easily result in a collision, potentially causing serious injury or death. There is currently no remedy available for this recall, yet the vehicle remains in operation on public roads. I do not feel the vehicle is safe to drive under these conditions. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue further and require the manufacturer to provide an immediate and effective remedy. It's well known by Alfa Romeo/Chrystler, Stelvio owners and certified Alfa Romeo mechanics that the O-ring in the oil send/receive/turbo lines is faulty. Spewing oil into the engine compartment and engine components and accessories i.e., belts, brake components creating a major liability for Alfa Romeo. The smoke from burning oil is overwhelming and visible inside the cabin throughout the interior of this car. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD TO ALL ALFA ROMEO STELVIO OWNERS WITH THE 2018 MODEL.

The contact stated that whenever the check engine warning light illuminated on Alfa Romeo vehicles, the vehicle remained undrivable until the vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was undrivable and had been undriveable since June 2024. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
