We have a video of the incident from our ring camera: [XXX] My daughter pulled our 2022 Bronco Sport out of our driveway onto [XXX] and then made a right turn onto [XXX] After completing the turn, my daughter said the car pulled to the right like the lane assist kicked in and locked and would not allow her to turn the wheel. My daughter does not remember if any warning lights or messages lit up on her dashboard because the whole thing happened within a few seconds. She crashed into our next door neighbors concrete and cinderblock mailbox at low speed and then the Bronco immediately flipped over. The vehicle is at a local tow yard and available for inspection. UNINTENDED CRUISE CONTROL ACCELERATION TO 85 MPH Engaged cruise control to set speed approx 72mph and within 30-45 seconds the cruise control suddenly without warning reverted to 85mph. Startled, I immediately hit brakes and cruise disengaged with no accident. Following days, in safe traffic setting I repeated the pattern of setting highway cruise speed and within 30-45 seconds vehicle cruise setting reverted to exactly 85mph. Obviously, this is a serious safety risk defect requiring immediate attention. On Friday, I brought the vehicle for diagnosis/repair to dealership where I purchased it. After 2 days their technicians reported that they had never encountered this unintended cruise control acceleration before and had submitted the problem to Ford headquarter "engineers" to help guide them. I have sent email to dealership GM to inform him of this serious defect, and informed the Ford Customer Relationship Center (case# [XXX]) INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

!!!ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION WITH "TRANSMISSION ISSUES"!!! I will NEVER get a Ford again! I'm updating my previous issue #11688946 I received my 2021 Ford Bronco Sport in early 2023. I noticed a shutter when accelerating from a stop, I took it to the dealership and had the 3rd fuel injector recall completed (still waiting for a remedy to the most recent #25V467). The dealership stated my vehicle should run fine now. The shutter persisted and worsened and a new issue developed, my RPM's would slightly bounce while going at a steady speed. 09/19/2025 BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP I GO!Just for them to "diagnose" the issue I had to pay $165.00. AND they tried to charge me double stating it took them 2hrs. My BS was dropped on less than 2hrs of them calling me. DIAGNOSIS: torque converter. They recommended a flush and fill for $300-$400. 09/25/2025 I bought an OBD-II and plugged in to see if there were any codes. The codes I got make way more sense than a new transmission. -U0140:00-08--BCM missing communication -U1A00:87-08--APIM private communication network malfunction -U2013:01-08-- Switch pack issue Also the EVAP system vapor pressure as well as Oxygen sensor current (B1-S1) is functioning incorrectly and randomly drops below the normal range. My transmission is fine... All they had to do is updated/reset my BCM when they had it as well as perform a "relearn". But they didn't!!! Clearly these are not always transmission issues but service work is what makes dealerships more money.

I don’t know the exact name of the system that failed but my Bronco would not accelerate after making complete stops. When I would press on the gas pedals to move from a stopped position the Bronco would move very very slowly which in turn almost caused me to have over 3 car accidents as when I would press the gas to move from a stopping position it would move forward very slowly no matter who much pressure I would put on the gas pedal which in turn the oncoming cars almost hit me. I took the Bronco to the dealership and they said they had to reprogram the acceleration but that it could take up to 500 miles for the issue to be corrected. I believe from my experience this is dangerous and not safe! And should be addressed. This incident has happened several times not one.

Car was put into drive and wouldn’t go. It would finally go but Everytime the engine changed gears it dropped to 0 rpm’s making it very dangerous to drive!!! Lots of lights came on and my app sent me two things wrong with it. After having it checked the codes said it was a valve body issue. Replacing the transmission is $4000, and I’m not the first with this problem a friend of mine had the same issue a couple weekend before me.Had two mechanics one of which was from the dealership tell me this was happening a lot! It’s very dangerous especially when you have kids in the car like I did and are having to stop at red lights and such. There were no issues or lights to show warning of this happening either.

My car would not move or go into gear. I was told it was my transmission but the diagnostic said it’s my powertrain control module. The mechanic finally admitted he broke my transmission. My Bronco is still sitting at the service department of the dealership. I have not had my vehicle since June 6, 2025. All I get is still ordering parts! I need a vehicle this is my only source of transportation and now I’m borrowing daily from family members. I don’t understand why they didn’t look into the powertrain from the beginning.

The Powertrain of this Ford Bronco Sport (2024) with only 12,000 miles on it malfunctioned while the driver was on a major highway. No control over gears, engine power, etc. Had to pull over in heavy traffic. Fortunately there was a shoulder, or this would have been a major safety risk for the driver and other vehicles and would likely have resulted in an accident. Apparently, this malfunction is related to battery issues as well and can affect the emergency caution flashers. The vehicle was inspected by Ford after being towed to a local dealership and was told that this was part of a recall on other Ford Broncos. A few days later, was told that Ford dealership was replacing the transmission and other parts.

I have attached a letter that I mailed to Ford Consumer Affairs detailing the issues with this vehicle and asking them to repair the transmission. I received a response letter from them yesterday denying my claim. I am seeking advice on how I can proceed with Ford, if at all, to try to get them to fix this issue that was clearly caused by multiple recalls. I am not the only consumer reporting the exact same problem with this vehicle. Thank You, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2022 Ford Bronco Sport Gainesboro, TN Crash

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

While parking in a parking lot of a local store I pulled into a spot and stopped about 2 feet from a bumper post. I removed my foot from the brake pedal to pull closer to the post. The car began to idle forward. When I was as close to the post as I intended I stepped on the brake. The car continued to idle forward until I hit the post causing very minor damage to the hood of my car. After hitting the post I was stopped. I put the car in reverse and took my foot off the brake. The vehicle did not moved so i touched the gas intending to back up a foot or so. The car picked up speed. I braked, but the car continued to pick up speed. I pressed harder on the brake, feeling as though I was standing on it. The car did not stop nor slow down. While feeling as though I was standing on the brake the car sped up I would estimate to 5-7 mph. I traveled straight back across the drive lane and continued to back into the parking spot behind me and hit the bumper in that parking causing damage to my lift gate and miscellaneous electrical components and the rear bumper. I have a repair estimate for $3400.00. I reported to the store personnel, the local police, and was examined by emergency medical. It was determined there was no damage to store property and medical personnel found my blood pressure was mildly elevated and the I felt slightly disoriented, but otherwise tested normal. I can only surmise that this was a temporary software malfunction. Braking has returned to normal. I talked to a ford dealer's Rep and he did not know what could have caused it. He also advised I could have diagnostics started for $278.00. I could not afford it at that time. Please note that the police officer said i could pick up the police report, but i have not done so. Speed sign recognition reads wrong speed. Reads 45 mph when speed limit is actually 70mph. Automatically slows down to 45 mph. Also drops to 25mph in 35 mph zone. Had it checked at dealer and they say all settings normal. Checked for Mfg updates and it says all up to date. Happens several times a week.

Purchased the Bronco Sport brand new in September 2021. Almost from the outset, the vehicle has been a nightmare. We just purchased our third battery. The vehicle died at an intersection and had to be towed to the dealership. They replaced the battery but it again failed. We have experienced numerous electrical issues with the vehicle as well as with the brakes and the power train. We have had the shift system fault notification come on several times. We took it in to the dealership who made some repairs and the notification went away for awhile. However, most recently, we were driving the vehicle down the interstate when it suddenly would not accelerate. We were very lucky to be able to maneuver the vehicle onto the shoulder. After a few minutes, the vehicle started and we were able to drive it home very slowly on side roads. We took the Bronco Sport to the dealership again and notified them of the multiple trips we had made there to fix this code issue. The dealership did a diagnostic and had a transmission specialist look at the car. The conclusion was that we needed a brand new transmission to the tune of $11K. Additionally, the dealership stated that we likely had rear differential issues as well - the subject of one of the many recalls on this lemon of a vehicle. We have not had the diagnostic performed as we are waiting on Ford to let us know if they will buy back the vehicle. Again, we purchased the car new and it has about 80K miles on it. There is no discernible reason for the transmission to fail on a car this new which has primarily been driven to and from work. A quick Google and social media search shows this is a pervasive problem with the 2021 Bronco Sport - many owners are experiencing electrical, power train and transmission issues. NHTSA needs to investigate this matter before someone is seriously injured or killed because of the failure of Ford in manufacturing the 2021 Bronco Sport.

The electrical components in my dashboard and computer system are shutting off while I am driving. “Charging System Service Soon” alert pops up but I have had my battery checked multiple times. The glitches are inconsistent and can happen 1-20 times during a 30 minute drive. When it glitches, I can not see my speedometer or anything else on my dash. It occasionally turns off my slippery mode, it almost stalled once and occasionally my steering wheel locks up. I reached out to 10-15 dealerships near the Detroit Metro areas and none of them have rental cars to provide me to assist with diagnosis. They all tell me if it’s part of the 12V battery degradation recall they can’t do anything until the remedy comes out. But that is reported as Q2 at the earliest. This is my only mode of transportation and it is a huge safety risk.
