VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

The contact owns a 1994 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while renewing the registration, the contact was informed of an open, unrepaired recall associated with the VIN. The unrepaired open recall was NHTSA Campaign Number: 09V399000 (Vehicle Speed Control). The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer declined to perform the recall repair because the VIN was not in the Manufacturer’s Database. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The manufacturer located the VIN information in the database and the contact was referred to the dealer for assistance. The contact had not experienced a failure.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Clock spring frayed and uncoiled. Unknown steering issue till clockspring checked. Airbag inflator is unoperational. Current clockspring recall for Ford does not cover this vehicle. Widen your recall. Most owners would believe it to be a power steering issue with pump and fluid, like we did.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Our truck has been doing the "death wobble" several times over the last 2 years. The truck will suddenly shake violently at high speeds and go into limp mode. We have to pull over pumping the brakes slowly. It is EXTREMELY TERRIFYING to have happen and we have spent THOUSANDS trying to get it repaired but it continues.

While driving on the freeway the vehicle started to shake violently. I had to pump the breaks slowly and pull to the side of the road. After checking everything we took it to the shop and they did 2k in repairs and said it was fixed. It did it again. They said they don't know what it is.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

December 24th at approximately 1100 hr. Driving normally on the Garden State Parkway Southbound approaching exit 98. The vehicle instantaneously began to shake out of control. I was able to keep the Vehicle in the travel lane and was able to pull over to the shoulder. I Vehicle pulled over to see if I was ok and explained the truck was front tires shaking violently. I did a pulmonary check under the vehicle any everything looked in order. I followed up with a local Mechanic who informed me that this was a common issue with these vehicles that was called the "Ford Death Wobble" and suggested that i take it to a specialist who deals with the suspension. I followed up with R&H Spring and Truck repair, 4806 W Hurley Pond Rd, Wall Township, NJ 07719. R&H is familiar with the issue and the Vehicle is currently scheduled to be diagnosed. The recommendation is to change most of the front end because no one issues causes this to happen. The vehicle has less that 44, 000 miles on it and clearly a design issue. I have been In law enforcement for 30 years and have never experienced anything like this. I have been trained in all types of advanced driving course throughout those years. Fortunately I was driving at the time rather a less experienced driver. I am not requesting anything other than the issue be addressed to protect the public. Unfortunately if not addressed loss of life will occur. Respectfully, [XXX] I am not requsting anything other than that INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

1996 Ford F-250 Rochester, WA Fire

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Cruise control switch began smoking, disconnected it and took it to Awesome Ford of Chehalis, WA for recall service sometime in June or July. Service tech found that brake fluid had wicked its way up electrical harness into cruise control servo, necessitating replacement in order to complete recall service. FoMoCo has been unable/unwilling to replace cruise control servo and is instead requiring that I pull one from a wrecking yard in order to complete recall service.

Everyone calls it's the ford death shake. It is very dangerous and after reading online there is several having the same issue you lose complete control of your vehicle when it happens hit a pot hole bump in the road or going over 50 mph I have wrecked my truck due to this issue and it seems thousands of people are having the same issue it is going to end up injuring someone very badly or taking someone life or others this is a big safety issue! 2007 Ford F-250 Baltimore, MD

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Truck randomly has the notorious death wobble when going over bumps. It shakes violently and i have to slow down or stop. Tried to have it diagnosed by mechanic several times with no outcome, this is when I researched and found out a lot of ford trucks have this issue. Is it a severe safety issue and with the outrageous price of trucks, I can not buy a new one. Ford should have recalled this a long time ago

2014 Ford F-250 at 94,727 miles Rockport, TX

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

HITTING A BUMP AT HIGHWAY SPEED (55+ MPH) CAUSES THE FRONT END TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AS IF THE FRONT TIRE HAS BLOWN. STEERING BECOMES DIFFICULT AS THE FRONT END SHUTTERS. SLOWING WELL BELOW HIGHWAY SPEED BRINGS IT BACK TO A CONTROLLABLE STATE (HAD TO PULL OVER AND COMPLETELY STOP ONCE). EFFECT IS WORSE AS SPEED INCREASES, ABOVE 70 MPH IS NEARLY UNRECOVERABLE.

DEATH WOBBLE. WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE DRIVING APPROX. 65 MPH, I WENT OVER A BUMP (BRIDGE EXPANSION GAP) AND MY TRUCK BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER STEERING AND WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF THE 3 LANE INTERSTATE. I BEGAN DRIFTING TO THE PASSING LANE AS I WAS ON A CURVE AND COULD NOT STEER MY TRUCK. I HAD TO ABRUPTLY SLOW DOWN TO 35MPH BEFORE THE SHAKING SUBSIDED AND I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OVER MY TRUCK. THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN AND WELL DOCUMENTED ISSUE WITH FORD AND THEIR SUPERDUTY LINE OF TRUCKS. ITS A SHAME PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO DIE BEFORE ACTION TAKES PLACE AS FORD WILL NOT OPENLY ADMIT TO A FAULT. THEIR FIX IS HALF HAZARD AND DOES NOT TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM.
