The worst model year for it is 1997.
The customer purchased a vehicle from Metro Motors on May 8, 2026, after visiting the dealership three times and speaking with multiple sales representatives. During each visit, the customer specifically stated that the vehicle would be used to tow a trailer and repeatedly asked whether it was safe and suitable for towing. The sales staff consistently represented that the vehicle was in good working condition, had low mileage, showed no significant issues on the Carfax report, and would be an excellent vehicle for towing. The customer was discouraged from test driving the vehicle because it was low on fuel, and sales staff stated that the only reason it had not sold was the snowplow attached to the front. Immediately after taking possession of the vehicle on May 8, the customer experienced a serious issue with the electronic parking brake repeatedly engaging while driving. The customer contacted Metro Motors on the next business day and was instructed by the manager, Nate, to bring the vehicle back. Metro Motors later determined that the parking brake cable was broken and that the brakes were in poor condition. After discussions, the dealership agreed to perform repairs if the customer paid for the parts. After the repairs were completed, the customer noticed smoke coming from the wheels and immediately returned the vehicle to Metro Motors. The dealership retained the vehicle but failed to communicate the nature of the problem or any repair costs until notifying the customer that the vehicle was ready for pickup on June 6, 2026. Before taking possession of the vehicle again, the customer arranged for an independent mechanic to inspect it. Although the dealership manager was initially hesitant to allow the inspection, he ultimately permitted it. The mechanic determined that the vehicle's frame was broken and that it was unsafe to operate, particularly for towing, which was the purpose repeatedly disclosed to Metro Motors before purchase.

All the fiberglass Bkack trim and the Gray door panels and the middle armrest are causing skin irritation to any person that come in touch with them. I havee owned this Truck for so many years, the problem started about 4 years ago, since I only use it for towing the camper I have ignored the issue for sure this very inconvenient to sell a vehicle with only 87k because of the manufactur cheap trim or other oweners didn't complain and ignored the issue. I have not taken the Truck to the Ford dealer because I have know doubt in my mind that they will tell me it's an 18 years old vehicle get another one. Yes I have the vehicle available for inspection at anytime. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my complaint.

I purchased this truck new in 2013 and it has only been serviced by Ford, except for an Air Lift Suspension Kit install to allow load leveling when towing. Low miles: 54484 actual. No collision damage, original paint. Date of repair:06/25/2025. Jenkins Ford RO#[XXX]. My truck has a Supercab (Extended Cab) with short rear doors that open to the rear. Both of these rear doors failed within 5 minutes of each other. Specifically, the inside door handles and opening levers on the forward facing side of the doors failed. This is absolutely a safety hazard because a Child, Senior, Handicapped person, pet, etc., would be trapped from making an emergency exit in case of accident or fire. A more athletic person may be able to pull themselves over the from bench seat to exit, but still delaying the exit and dangerous. There were no warnings to alert anyone of the failures. Jenkins Ford (Crystal River, FL) diagnosed the problem and made the costly repair. Both door cables were replaced, no warranty. Cost: $1558.80 I called Ford USA Customer Relations (800) 392-3673 at 1:16PM EDT on 06/24/2025. C/S Rep "Kisha" said Ford would not assist in any goodwill for repair of this safety item. I researched this problem online an apparently, this is a common failure due to plastic parts holding the cables. I acknowledge that this vehicle is over 10 years old, but feel that this is a safety item Ford should stand behind. People keep vehicles longer these days and mine has been garaged, meticulously maintained by Ford, and has extremely low miles. Jenkins Ford did a very professional repair and I'm very happy with this dealer. The Ford Motor Company should be required to recall and repair this problem. I was Getting on I-95 N from Benson, NC with speed limit of 70mph. While I was still accelerating and just merged in traffic, going about 65-70mph, my 2014 F250 started doing the death wobble. The section of highway I was on has no shoulder or anywhere to pull off because they are doing construction on the shoulder and have concrete blocks maybe 6inches past the line. So I had no choice but to put on my brakes hard and slow down until the shaking stopped, which was bout 15-20mph. I’m very lucky I wasn’t rear ended or in an accident because of the death wobble. My 12 week old baby girl was also with me in the truck at the time

VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS VIBRATED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS LAST WEEKEND IT STARTED SHAKING SO VIOLENTLY THAT EVEN THE PHONE MOUNT ON THE WINDSHIELD CAME OFF, FORCING ME TO PULL OVER ON I75. AFTER CHECKING TIRES AND TIRE PRESSURE GOT BACK ON THE ROAD, VIBRATION CAME BACK BUT NOT AS SEVERE. HAVE HAD THE TIRES CHECKED FOR ALIGNMENT AND BALANCE, NO ISSUES THERE. SEEMS TO ONLY BE A PROBLEM AT 60 MPH+

I WAS TRAVELING SOUTH ON I-85 IN MEBANE, NC ON THE NIGHT OF 07/29/19 WHEN THE RIGHT REAR TIRE BEGAN TO VIBRATE EXCESSIVELY. I BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN WHEN THE RIGHT REAR TIRE EXPLODED. APPROXIMATELY ONE-HALF OF THE TREAD DETACHED FROM THE TIRE CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRUCK BED. MICHELIN LT 265 70 R 17 LTX AT/2, 10 PLY TIRES WERE ON THE TRUCK. I REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND OF TIRE. I CONTACTED MICHELIN ON 08/02/19 TO FILE A CLAIM AND WAS TOLD THAT WITHOUT THE TIRE THAT EXPLODED, A CLAIM COULDN'T BE FILED. I CONTACTED THE TIRE SHOP AND THE TIRES THAT WERE REMOVED FROM MY TRUCK HAVE ALREADY BEEN DISPOSED OF. I HAVE PROOF OF PURCHASE AND PHOTOS OF THE DEFECTIVE TIRE AND DAMAGE DONE TO MY TRUCK. MICHELIN STATED THAT PROOF OF PURCHASE AND PHOTOS WERE NOT ACCEPTABLE. I'M BEING OVERLOOKED FOR MICHELIN'S DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS AND THIS IS NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I GOT A AUTO BODY REPAIR ESTIMATE FOR THE TRUCK ON 08/02/19.
