We have experienced multiple recurring issues with our 2024 GMC Acadia that raise significant safety concerns and affect the vehicle’s reliability and overall operation. First, the brake system exhibits persistent squeaking, even at low speeds or light applications. The dealership has inspected the brakes but the noise continues, raising concerns about premature wear or improper brake function. More concerning is the behavior of the automatic braking system while reversing. The system has repeatedly activated the brakes without any obstacle, vehicle, or person behind us. These unexpected braking events have created both physical and psychological stress for occupants and pose a real risk of causing a rear-end collision from another driver who may not anticipate sudden braking. Due to this hazardous condition, we have been forced to deactivate the automatic braking feature entirely, defeating a critical safety system the vehicle is equipped with. Additionally, the engine frequently runs rough during cold start and the initial warm-up period for the first couple of minutes. This rough operation is inconsistent with expected behavior for a new vehicle and has not been fully resolved despite service visits. The TPMS sensors have also been problematic. Several sensors have already been replaced by the dealership, yet we continue to experience intermittent TPMS faults involving at least two wheels. This results in repeated warnings, loss of real-time tire data, and uncertainty about actual tire pressure conditions while driving. We also experience rattling noises from the interior trim near the door seals whenever there is a cross breeze or windy driving conditions. This appears to be a structural or insulation-related issue. We have others, but this space only allows for 2000 characters, and after writing this sentence, there are only 113 characters remaining.

Lift gate closes by itself I have to put a pole to hold it up and it won’t hit me, it says the air bags needs to be serviced, stabilitrak keeps going off, ball bearing needs work. I bought a brand new GMC Acadia at Thompson GMC in Raleigh NC. From day 1 I have been having a issue with the tire pressure sensors disconnecting from the system. Thompson GMC was giving me attitude for bringing it back so many times so I brought it to Leith GMC in Wendell NC for diagnoses. Both shops referred to GM TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) PIT6188 which they both tried the reprogramming with no such luck. I was advised to wait for GM to come up with a fix and refused a loaner for the time unless I paid (GM customer care confirmed I would have to pay up front for a loaner). It is now 6 months later and I am still driving a vehicle where lights still come up on the dashboard and no fix. I get no where with the dealerships and GM customer care (case # 9-14086984106) advises me I have to keep bringing it to the dealership. No one can give me a update on when this will be fixed and I am constantly getting a run around. Please help.

The check engine light came on 12/2023. The vehicle was taken to Pep Boys and AutoZone in MD, WalMart and O'Rilley in Bastrop, LA, O'Rilley in Midlothian, TX. They could not find any problems with the vehicle. I took the vehicle to GMC in Plano, TX. THey charged me for a new battery but the check engine light remained on after I picked up the vehicle with a newly installed battery. The dealership said it would eventually go off. I took the car to Automotive Solutions in September 2024 and they can not find anything wrong with the vehicle. The car can not pass Texas inspection with a check engine light on. There is a large group on FB having this same problem. August 2024 the car will recognize when it is shifted into park. Sometimes it rolls after puting the car in park.I took the car to Automotive Soulutions in September 2024 and they can not find anything wrong with the vehicle. During a routine oil and filter change the technician noted that the "rear tow links are excessive play in them." Several GMC vehicles have had numerous recalls to tow links over the years. Dealership suggested the repair and confirmed services were not covered under warranty. After further research into the repair there are countless forums and complaints about GMC vehicles needing tow link replacement. Photos of the original tow links show minimal wear and tear.

I parked uphill on my driveway and put car in park to drop off groceries . My trunk didn’t not open which usually only happens when vehicle is in drive. I felt my car begin to move so I jumped in to discover dash said shift to park. This is major safety issue and happens quite often now. Under this circumstance vehicle can’t turn off. Had to replace battery for always draining. Also seatbelts in back seat and passenger seat do not buckle. There was a recall at one point however it disappeared from my dash board and now reads as completed however I never had the opportunity to correct the recall.

After exiting the highway onto a side road, the vehicle began to shake violently (like we were on a very bumpy road). I pulled into a parking lot thinking we had a flat tire. Then the vehicle suddenly came to a stop and would not move forward and would not move backwards. There was no flat tire, but I noticed that the front left tire was turned inward in the direction that the steering wheel was turned, but the front right tire was also turned inward at a much greater angle. At first glance, I could see behind the tire that the tie rod had detached from the front right tire resulting in no steering capabilities for the vehicle. The tie rod has a large bolt that attaches it to the tire, and the bolt was missing. Had this happened on the highway just a few minutes earlier, the resulting accident could have been catastrophic. I paid to have the car towed to the dealership and when the tow truck driver arrived he took one look at the vehicle and said "this should have never happened". The dealership could not explain how the tie rod lost the bolt and there was no visible damage to the tie rod. My concern is that had this happened at 60mph, the car could have flipped or the car would have been abruptly turned into the median wall at 60mph. Tried to upload images, but could not upload.

IN DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THIS FOUND THAT THIS BRAND OF TIRES - CONTINENTAL CROSS XL SPORT CROSS CONTACT MODEL HAS BEEN INVOLVED WITH A RECALL FOR OVER CURED TIRES CAUSING SUDDEN LOSS OF AIR. BOTH THE DEALER AND GM STATED THAT OUR TIRES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. WE WERE DRIVING ON THE PARKWAY AND HAD NOT HIT ANYTHING OR RAN OVER ANYTHING TO CAUSE THIS. WE FEEL THAT THESE TIRES SHOULD BE ALSO PART OF RECALL. WE ARE REPLACING THE OTHER THREE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE AS WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING WITH THOSE TIRES.

THESE ARE 60000 MILE TIRES AND SHOULD NOT BE WORN THIS BADLY AT 34400 MILES. I LEASE THIS CAR AND HAVE A YEAR LEFT. I DO NOT FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE TIRES. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT MICHELIN'S OFFER TO SPLIT COST IS ONLY GOOD UNTIL 36000 MILES WHICH DOESN'T GIVE ME MUCH TIME TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO OR PURSUE A MORE SATISFACTORY RESOLUTION. IF I DON'T REPLACE THE TIRES IN THE NEXT MONTH OR SO, I WILL HAVE TO PAY FULL COST TO REPLACE THEM LATER.
