Half of the failures with a mileage on record happened before
90,000 miles.
While traveling at highway speeds on Interstate 5 in Oregon, my 2015 GMC Yukon Denali experienced a sudden, catastrophic engine failure with zero advance warning. The vehicle instantly lost almost all propulsion and power while surrounded by high-speed traffic, creating an immediate and severe safety hazard on a major interstate. The engine began making a loud, severe knocking noise, and I was forced to navigate across lanes without adequate power to reach the shoulder. The vehicle was towed and inspected by Point S in Creswell, OR, where diagnostics confirmed a P0300 random/multiple cylinder misfire, with cylinder 4 specifically misfiring. Using a stethoscope and scanner to isolate the failure, technicians confirmed a catastrophic rod knock failure at the bottom end of the engine. The vehicle was then taken to Sam’s Automotive Service, where a complete engine replacement was executed at a total out-of-pocket cost of $16,000. General Motors has a well-documented history of internal engine failures on these 6.2L V8 platforms, yet they have failed to issue a safety recall for vehicles experiencing this sudden, dangerous highway power loss.

Fuel line rubs between cab and tank making a hole. Fuel pours out on when driving or running. Huge fire risk. Glad I caught it before the car burned up with us in it.

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Yukon. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, there was an abnormal odor coming from the inside of the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with a fuel pump leak. The contact was informed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The contact researched and became aware of an undisclosed recall however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 226,000.

Fuel pump leak. our cabin fills up with exhaust causing myself and my 3 young kids (1,3,5) to start coughing, eyes and throat burning, headaches & a hard time breathing. confirmed by GMC dealer in concord & separate auto shop. They told us it had a recall and that they couldn't fix it after paying them to diagnose it since it was recall. Now GMC dealer is telling us that the problem and recall exists for other 2015 Yukon models but our VIN # Is not included and that's why they never fixed the problem that I've been complaining about since I bought the truck (dont remember exact purchase date but the vehicle was new and under warranty for years). I've taken it to the dealership 3 times for the same problem (exhaust smell in cabin) and they kept saying it's fine. Now it's so bad that we can't drive it because it makes us feel sick.

RAW FUEL FUMES INSIDE THE CAB AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. AFTER LOOKING UNDER THE VEHICLE THERE IS A SLOW BUT STEADY FUEL LEAK FROM THE GAS TANK. I BELIEVE IT IS THE PLASTIC FUEL LINE THAT HAS WORN A HOLE IN ITSELF FROM RUBBING ON ANOTHER OBJECT.

WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND SUDDENLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND THE ESP LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS VERY CLOSE TO HOME SO I DROVE BACK HOME AND AS I STOPPED THE CAR IT STARTED SHAKING AND I TURNED IT OFF. BROUGHT IT TO THE MECHANIC AND HE SAID THE FUEL INJECTORS NEED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT MY CAR FOR 11 DAYS NOW AS THIS IS SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM THAT ALL THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED ESPECIALLY AS IT IS SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM. FOR SUCH AN EXPENSIVE CAR THESE KINDS OF THINGS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. HOPING FOR A RECALL SOON SO THAT I CAN RECEIVE MY MONEY BACK.

WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED FULLY, THE GAS PEDAL STICKS THE CAR CONTINUES ACCELERATING. THE PROBLEM BEGAN WITH INITIAL COMPLETE DEPRESSION OF GAS PEDAL TO CAUSE SOME ACCELERATION AND DEPRESSING BRAKE ALLOWED VEHICLE TO RETURN TO NORMAL DRIVING. THE PROBLEM HAS WORSENED OVER TIME TO THE POINT WHERE BOTH FEET DEPRESSING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL DID NOT AFFECT ACCELERATION AND CAUSED SMOKE TO EMIT FROM BOTH FRONT BRAKE PADS, AND THE PASSENGER FRONT BRAKE PAD FLAMED UP FROM THE HEAT. THE CAR WAS DRIVEN INTO A PARKING LOT WITH THE BRAKE DEPRESSED THE ENTIRE TIME, AND TURNED OFF. SO FAR, THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS FULLY DEPRESSED. THE DEALER TOLD ME THE MAT CAUSED THIS EVEN THOUGH THE MAT IS CUT AROUND THE GAS PEDAL WITH PLENTY OF ROOM TO NOT OBSTRUCT PEDAL. THE MAT ALSO DOES NOT SLIDE OR MOVE ABOUT THE AREA. THE GMC DEALER TOLD ME THEY TOOK THE MAT OUT AND DID NOT NOTICE ANY AUTO ACCELERATION, AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE UNABLE TO DEPRESS THE GAS PEDAL FULL TO ATTEMPT TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM, TO NOT COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF THE OTHER CARS NEARBY.

A CODE WAS SET FOR FUEL PUMP PRESSURE, THEN TODAY WE WERE IN MARNA AZ, AND OUR VEHICLE DIED WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN. A POLICEMAN FOLLOWED US TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG AND WE TOLD HIM. TO OUR SURPRISE HE HAS BEEN HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH HIS 2015 TAHOE. HE BROUGHT HIS VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD HIM IT HERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP WHEN THE TEMP IS TOO HOT.
