The engine cooling system failed while my husband and I were driving on the freeway at night: the thermostat stuck closed and cut off coolant flow to the engine, causing it to overheat and become unsafe to continue driving. This occurred at approximately 10:00 PM on XXX roughly two hours from home over a holiday weekend, with two occupants in the vehicle. The vehicle had to be towed, but it took nearly four hours to get a tow truck, leaving us stranded on the freeway at night; because we were stranded so far from home, my [XXX] father had to drive two hours to reach us at 10:00 PM and then drive us two hours home, arriving around 1:00 AM, which put an elderly driver on the road late at night and created further risk. There was first a low oil pressure code and the engine was revving without the gas being pressed. Then that code went away and the engine overheating code came on along with an occasional battery code. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired by Bud's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram between XXX and XXX the dealership confirmed the stuck thermostat and coolant cut-off and replaced the thermostat. The vehicle is available for inspection on request. No manufacturer, police, or insurance inspection has taken place to date. Mileage at time of failure: approximately 78,000. VIN: [XXX]. Within less than 24 hours of picking the vehicle up from the thermostat repair on XXX6, it began shutting off on its own and losing engine RPM, including while being driven on the freeway and while stopped at a red light. It shut off completely on its own two times in the first 24 hours back in my possession, with no warning that the vehicle was about to lose power. Losing power on the freeway risks a sudden loss of motive power at highway speed and a high-speed collision, and shutting off at a red light risks being unable to move out of an intersection or accelerate away from a hazard, with a heightened risk of being struck. During these failures the vehicle displayed a battery warning code and, separately, a "service transmission" warning; both appeared and then cleared. These symptoms first appeared on XXX, within hours of the vehicle being returned from the prior repair. The failures have not yet been reproduced by a service center; the vehicle is scheduled to return to the place of purchase, Grogans Town Dodge Jeep Ram on XXX for diagnosis, and the same vehicle was in this dealership's service department of another dealership 2 hours from our home because thats where we were when the thermomstat issue occured on XXX for the separate cooling-system failure. The vehicle is available for inspection on request. Mileage: approximately 78,000. VIN: [XXX]. (For context only: I have since learned that 2024 Jeep Wagoneers have been reported to have a battery/electrical drain issue that can cause the vehicle to shut off.) The engine shuts off unexpectedly when the automatic start stop system engages. At the same time the engine shuts off, the power steering warning light illuminates and steering assist is lost. The vehicle must be restarted to regain power steering and continue driving. This has occurred on multiple occasions, including while the vehicle was slowing to a stop in traffic. The sudden loss of steering assist while the vehicle is in motion presents an immediate safety risk to the driver, passengers, and surrounding traffic. This appears to be a widespread issue. Other 2024 Jeep Wagoneer owners have reported the same combination of symptoms, sudden stalling paired with power steering warning lights, in complaints already on file with NHTSA. Suspected causes reported by owners and dealers include a failing 12V or auxiliary battery, a Powertrain Control Module fault, and a Power Distribution Center or wiring fault.

I’ve had issues with the blind spot sensors. After driving a mile or two on open road, the warning pops up saying “Blind Spot sensors unavailable” then the lights on the mirror stay on. This was happening a few months ago so the right sensor was replaced. Now it’s happening again. In a vehicle that is two years old this shouldn’t be an issue.

I am reporting a serious and unresolved safety defect involving a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer Series II 4x4 (VIN: [XXX] ) with approximately 34,000 miles. The vehicle has experienced repeated power steering warnings and functionality issues, and on multiple occasions (approximately three incidents) has unexpectedly shifted itself into park while actively driving. These incidents have occurred since Fall 2025 and continued in January 2026 and now March 2026, demonstrating the issue is ongoing and recurring. The vehicle was in the dealership for over three weeks between January and February 2026, at which time a repair was confirmed before the most recent occurrence. Despite ongoing repairs, the issue has not been resolved and no permanent repair path has been identified. The vehicle is currently back at the dealership with no confirmed resolution. The most recent incident occurred on 3/18 when the vehicle shifted into park while in motion, requiring a restart in the roadway. Shortly after arriving at my destination, the battery died and the vehicle became inoperable and required towing. The combination of electrical issues, including power steering warnings and a dead battery, along with the vehicle unexpectedly shifting into park, creates a significant and unpredictable loss of drivability and presents a serious safety risk. When driving, I attempted to adjust the sun visor and the part of the visor that goes into the roof broke causing the visor to fall into my field of vision. The visor then wouldn’t stay put in either direction and just continued to hang down in the field of vision of the driver.

I purchased car less than 24 hours ago. Service engine light is on. Dealership ran code and say it wasn't diagnosing a problem. And engine light went off. Drove for 3 hours and then engine light came back on. When I drove the car today, I came to a stop at a stoplight and when I went to go the car would not go. Looked down and my car had been gone into emergency parking. This issue was NOT disclosed to me when I purchased the car.

While firing on the highway in the middle lane my car lost all power as soon as an Engine overheating light came on. This almost caused a larger pile up as cars starting swerving all over the highway to avoid my vehicle. I was able to safely coast to the shoulder without being hurt. After getting it looked at I was told my vehicle had a faulty thermostat yet by 2024 wagoneers VIN was not included in the batch they had put out.

My 2024 Jeep Wagoneer Series 2 frequently stalls while coming out of idle, such as at traffic lights. This is not the auto stop-start feature and happens whether or not auto stop-start is deactivated. Usually, after being by stopped, as I am getting ready to start moving again, the vehicle will slightly rev or try to lurch forward before stalling out. This turns the engine off, throws the car into park, and activates my e-brake. It happens before I press the accelerator so the car is not moving more than a mile or two an hour. This problem is dangerous because it creates a risk of accidents with other vehicles. When the car stalls in this way, I must confirm the car is in park, press the brake, restart the engine, deactivate the e-brake, and shift the car into drive before proceeding through the intersection. This takes a few seconds and if the driver in the car behind me isn’t paying attention and think I am starting to move, he or she could rear-end me. This problem has happened more than a dozen times (so not every time I drive but frequent enough to be a pattern). It can happen when I have been driving for a while and the engine is warm. There is no way for me to predict in advance when it will happen. It can go weeks without happening or happen twice in the same day. It does not activate any dash warnings (such as service engine light or an error code) that I can see. I have taken my car into the dealership twice for idle related issues including once for this exact problem. The last time, the dealership found misfires on all cylinders, both catalytic converters coming apart from the inside and 02 sensors that had melted from overheating. The dealership replaced all of this. My vehicle still stalled on the way home from the dealership. This time, I detected a strong rubber or plastic burning odor when I got home. The vehicle has less than 12,000 miles on it and was bought new less than a year ago. I attach last repair invoice.

While driving at highway speeds, the jeep suddenly downshifted, revved up a ton, and threw overheat and low oil warnings. The head gasket likely almost blew, we were very close to losing control of the vehicle. After googling, I discovered that this is a problem that Jeep is aware of: dozens of reports online over the last two years, and the dealerships have been buying them back and claiming it's just a thermostat problem rather than issuing a recall for what is obviously a very serious design flaw and safety issue.

Leaving for work this morning and reversed out of parking spot, tried to pull out onto a busy road and almost died. The car just kinda rolled forward a bit and would not accelerate or do anything! The ignition switch was blinking. I could not reverse or go forward or put it in park, the gear shifter lights were all blinking as well. I couldn’t shut the car off to restart it. I could not change gears or go anywhere but sit in the middle of an intersection with cars approaching me at a high rate of speed. It took approx 2 min for the car to do anything. It finally allowed me to shut it off and restart. Check engine light on. I reversed back into the parking lot I had exited from and drove it around to make sure I could accelerate onto this road where people do 70mph. I’m extremely lucky I did not get t-boned. I have read about this issue escalating to the car having this problem and told my dealership about this when i was having the check engine light issues mentioned below. I really do not feel safe in this car now after getting stuck in an intersection. Prior issue with wagoneer, it’s been to the dealership at least 4x for this: bumps you back into park when you try to reverse and then the check engine light comes on. I have to shut the car off, open my door, restart, and then it’ll go into gear and check engine light remains on until I bring it in or sometimes after driving a bit it goes off itself. There was some known issue with possible problems with the transmission regulator valve so they switched that out and said that should take care of the issue. But check engine light on again. It now progressed into being completely disabled at an intersection today.

Unexplained and dangerous transmission issue resulting in stalling while driving at low speeds, electronic malfunction, and check engine light which first occurred on 7/23/24 when the vehicle had roughly 3,500 miles. Vehicle was with dealer service from July 24-August 15, 2024. During that time, repair was allegedly attempted twice and vehicle returned to me on 8/15/24 after allegedly a replacement part was installed from Jeep/Chrysler HQ. Was told by the dealer service rep the issue was a known issue and other Wagoneers had been brought in with the same issue when I retrieved the vehicle. Dealer service could/would not confirm if issue was recreated but assume so since the vehicle was kept for so long. Sudden stalling and check engine light occurred again on 10/3/2024. Contacted dealer service on 10/3/2024; was told not to drive vehicle and a tow truck would be sent. Car towed to dealer on 10/4/2024 and returned again after alleged repair on 10/18. Issue occured again on 11/16. Have not brought it back to the dealer as I have filed for lemon law. Check engine light was on but went off a week later. On all three occasions, prior to the stalling and electrical malfunction, the car seems to be stuck in a low gear while driving and makes a grinding noise. The issue occurs when slowing down and has not happened at high speeds, luckily. Filing this with NHSTA as I see there is also an investigation into 2022 model for same issue.

With less than 500 miles on the vehicle, while stopped at a stoplight, the vehicle automatically shifted from drive to park and had to be restarted in order to accelerate forward. Check engine light also came on. When stopped at the same light again moments later, the same thing occurred. These events happened within a couple minutes of each other. Vehicle would not accelerate until restarted. Took vehicle to get serviced, the next day within minutes after leaving the dealership and servicing, the check engine light came on after accelerating at a stop light with the same engine error codes.
