Recalls on the 2010 Lexus GS

A complaint is one owner's allegation. A recall is the point at which the manufacturer or a regulator agreed the defect is real and dangerous enough to fix for free — however old the car is.

Canada — Transport Canada

Canada runs its own recall programme, and its campaigns do not always mirror the American ones.

Recall 2018346 4,915 units in Canada

Fuel System

On certain vehicles equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine, the fuel pulsation dampers located in the fuel delivery pipe could develop a leak over time. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel delivery pipe with an updated part.

Recalls cover specific build ranges, so check your own vehicle by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls or, in Canada, Transport Canada.

While I was driving at the end of traffic (Light just turned green), when my sunroof (Glass) exploded. Was a very loud bang, glass fell all over the center console, driver side (On my arm, hair) and passenger side. Luckily I was the only one in the car. THE REPLACEMENT OF MY DEFECTIVE AIRBAG IS TAKING FAR TOO LONG. LEXUS OFFERED TO GIVE US AN ECONOMY SIZE RENTAL CAR BUT, THAT IS NOT LARGE ENOUGH FOR MY FAMILY SO I HAVE CONTINUED TO DRIVE MY UNSAFE CAR. LEXUS HAS NOT GIVEN US ANY INDICATION AS TO WHEN THE REPLACEMENT WILL BE MADE. WE JUST PRAY WE ARE NOT IN AN ACCIDENT OF ANY KIND.

WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED WHILE IN DRIVE THE RPMS RANDOMLY INCREASE FROM 500 TO 1000 AND THE CAR INCHES UP UNLESS I APPLY MORE PRESSURE ON THE BRAKES. THIS IS USUALLY NOTICEABLE WHILE I AM IN THE DRIVE-THRU AT FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS WHILE WAITING IN LINE. WHILE WAITING FOR 5 OR SO MINUTES IT USUALLY OCCURS 2-3 TIMES. I RARELY NOTICE IT HAPPEN AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS AS THEY USUALLY DON'T LAST THAT LONG. IT HAPPENS AT LEAST A FEW TIMES A WEEK.
