On XXX, less than 24 hours after an authorized Porsche dealer released this 2024 911 as a successfully completed repair with the diagnostic codes cleared and no root cause documented, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power while traveling at highway speed. It entered limp mode with severe deceleration and displayed a red engine control error, forcing an emergency lane change across traffic to reach a parking lot. After stopping, an active and significant fluid leak was observed trailing from the engine compartment, creating a fire risk. The 12-volt electrical system then died and the vehicle required a jump-start. After power was restored, the transmission would not engage Park and displayed "P not available. Park on level ground only," creating a rollaway risk. The vehicle was occupied by the driver, a passenger who was approximately [XXX] pregnant, and two small children. The three distinct safety failures were the sudden loss of motive power at highway speed, the active fluid leak with fire risk, and the loss of Park capability after the electrical failure. Warning messages appeared during the event as described. The vehicle remains at the authorized dealer and is undiagnosed as of this submission, and is available for inspection upon request. Odometer Fraud. The contact owns a 1991 Porsche 911. The contact stated that the vehicle was recently purchased from a dealer in the State of Utah, and the Utah dealer had purchased the vehicle from the importing dealer in the State of Georgia. The dealer in Georgia had purchased and imported the vehicle from a dealer in Europe in 2023. The contact stated that after purchasing the vehicle, the dealer in Europe was contacted for additional records on the vehicle and the contact received documents related to the vehicle and the contact became aware that the vehicle had 100,000 additional Km/H than listed in the ad for the vehicle. The contact became aware that the mileage on the vehicle had been altered. The contact stated that the mileage on the documents from the dealer in Norway exhibited the correct mileage. The contact stated that the mileage had been rolled back when the vehicle was imported into the United States of America. The contact also found records of the mileage at the time that the vehicle was sold by the dealer in Georgia to the dealer in Utah and it was evident that the mileage had been tampered with. The contact stated that vehicle mileage was in kilometers per hour and indicated that the odometer reading was 233,000 Km/H. The contact stated that there was also an invoice for an engine rebuild at 91,000 Km/H however, the invoice from the dealer in Norway indicated that the engine rebuild was at 191,000 Km/H. The contact stated that the mileage when the vehicle was imported from Norway indicated that the mileage was 226,000 Km/H, and the sales ad in Georgia indicated that the mileage was 126,000 Km/H. The contact then became aware that the vehicle title had been altered. The contact also found a similar vehicle that was imported from the Netherlands on the website for the dealer in Atlanta, Georgia and noticed that the mileage had also been tampered with after purchasing a European Vehicle History Report on the vehicle. There is an active spoiler that has a brake light built into it. There is a design issue with the wiring for the light in the spoiler. The brake light harness is worn out by the movement of the spoiler causing failure of the brake light. This meams there is no 3rd brake light when the spoiler is automatically activated.

Heard a ticking noise while driving. Pulled over, on freeway. It was not a safe situation parked on side of a major freeway. Turned off car to look around the engine and found nothing. Started the car again and it died within 5 seconds. The electric system completely died after and would not crank. Got it towed to dealer after waiting for tow truck 3 hours. I was really scared sitting in my that someone would crash into me. Dealer has now the engine apart diagnosing it. It is a failed engine and will need a brand new motor.

1. Door panel Issue. I have a 2012 911, and have noticed last year that the door panels have popped up on both sides, it looks like the glue has given way. It seems that this is a common issue for Porsche 911. 2. Keyless Entry Issue. I was not able to lock my car by pressing by the door handle's button. I was able to unlock the car. I then tried on the passenger's side and was able to lock it. It's been going on for months, and every time it occurs I will have to spend minutes to get into the car.

I have a nearly brand new 2022 Porsche 911 GTS with around 3000 miles on it. Around 3am on 4/16/23, I was driving on highway and experienced serious engine failure. Put me and other drivers driving on the highway in a life threatening situation. I or anyone who is driving could be killed while my car stopped on highway and later on a local road. It gave me insomia, paranoidism, trauma etc. In details, when the engine first failed, the speed was decreasing, I stepped on gas but there is no response from the car, the speed still decelerated until I made my way to the shoulder of highway. It finally completely stopped, I failed to start engine for few time and in the mean time the car had burning smell. I waited for 5-10 mins, then tried to restart the engine, car was started but it felt very weak and was really hard to control and steer. I stepped on gas but it's not accelerating. The engine kept failing and lights went out, I can’s see the road clearly and can't really steer the car. For my own and other people's safety I had to drive the car to the exsit! The car bumped into sidewalk curb, after multiple times of restarting the car until I made to the nearest highway exist. Whenever I stopped the car, the engine would turn off, then at last, I reached to a signal light and that's when the car had completely stopped and I can’t start the engine after trying for many times. Around 3:30am I called Porsche road assistance, they said they would tow the car in 60-90 mins. After 60 mins I called the road assistance again to follow up they said can’t find towing company and asked me to call my insurance instead. At that time it's almost 5am I was very frustrated, exhausted and cold didn’t know what to do. I had to have my friend picked me up and left the car on the road. Police officer had the car towed and I sent the car to Riverside dealership. Called Porsche and filed claim requested for buy back last week, no update as of now, need your help on this. Thank you!

My air conditioner/heater fan does not come on after car has been sitting for a few days in a humid climate. There is no permanent fix. This is a safety issue because without the fan motor the defroster doesn't work and the windows can fog up creating a dangerous situation.

The contact owns a 2018 Porsche Carrera. The contact stated while driving at 50MPH when the contact attempted to turn off their headlight switch on the vehicle but instead accidentally hit the ignition switch which caused the engine to shut off and the vehicle to coast on its own. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road and restart the vehicle and continue to drive to their residence. The contact concern was that headlight and ignition switch on the vehicle were so close together that its manufacturer design an error with the vehicle which could lead into an accident while driving the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

IN MAY 2019 I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED 2015 PORSCHE CARRERA GTS AND HAD IT FOR 11 MONTHS BEFORE IT CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE DRIVING IT. A FORENSIC INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS THE ELECTRICAL BOARD LOCATED ON THE INSIDE OF THE CABIN NEAR THE RIGHT REAR TIRE. ON THE DAY OF THE INCIDENT, AFTER DRIVING THE CAR LESS THAN 15 MILES FROM MY HOME TO A NEARBY PROPERTY I NOTICED THE CAR WAS SMOKING AS I PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY. I PARKED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A SMALL FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I COULDN'T GET TO THE CAR IN TIME WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND BY THE TIME THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED, THE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. I'M NOW FACED WITH A TOTAL LOSS FOR THE VEHICLE AND NOT TO MENTION RELUCTANCE TO EVER PURCHASE ANOTHER PORSCHE IN MY LIFE. I'VE DREAMT ABOUT OWNING THIS PORSCHE CARRERA (GTS) SINCE I WAS A CHILD AND THIS EXPERIENCE HAS TOTALLY ALTERED MY PERCEPTION. IF MY FAMILY HAD BEEN IN THE CAR WITH ME, THIS COULD HAVE TURNED OUT DISASTROUS AND FOR THAT MY CONFIDENCE HAS BEEN SHATTERED WITH PORSCHE. CAR HEATING SYSTEM CUT OUT. I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES AND THE HEATER SYSTEM DIED. NOT HAVING HEAT, THE WINDSHIELD FOGGED UP IMMEDIATELY AND COLD RAIN STARTED FREEZING ON THE WINDSHIELD REQUIRING ME CONTINUOUSLY CLEAR IT WITH WASHER FLUID UNTIL THE CAR RAN OUT OF WASHER FLUID AND I HAD TO STOP. AFTER DOING SOME INTERNET RESEARCH IT SEEMS LIKE THIS IS A PROBLEM AFFECTING MANY PORSCHES OF THIS TYPE. IT SEEMS LIKE PORSCHE IS USING A FAILURE PRONE VALVE UNIT IN 6-8 PLACES IN THE CAR (DEPENDING ON MODEL TYPE). THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE WELL KNOWN AND MY DEALER KNEW ALREADY THAT ITS A VALVE PROBLEM WHEN I MENTIONED IT AND CONCEDED THAT IT IS AN ISSUE. NEVERTHELESS, IT LOOKS LIKE PORSCHE DECIDED NOT TO RECALL THE VALVES, BUT SIMPLY REPLACE THEM WHEN THEY FAIL. THIS MIGHT BE OK FOR DRIVERS IN WARM WEATHER, BUT IN COLD WEATHER THIS CAN MEAN AN IMMEDIATE STOP OR RISKING AN ACCIDENT DUE TO LOW VISIBILITY. IN ADDITION, THE SAME VALVE IS APPARENTLY USED IN OTHER SYSTEMS OF THE CAR AND CAN CAUSE FAILURES THERE AS WELL.

I WAS DRIVING MY CAR TO A CHARITY EVENT HOSTED BY A HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS TEAM WHEN I NOTICED STEAM COMING FROM MY ENGINE BAY. ALL MY CARS COOLANT LEAKED OUT INTO THE PARKING LOT AND IT CREATED A VERY LARGE PUDDLE. MY WHEELS WERE COVERED IN COOLANT AND IT CREATED AN UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION FOR THE PARTICIPANTS BEHIND ME WHO WERE FOLLOW ME INTO THE CAR WAS. AS ALL OF THE COOLANT EVACUATED MY CAR, IT IS A MIRACLE THAT IT DID NOT HAPPEN ON THE FREEWAY WHERE IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR BATTERY EXPLODED WHEN I TURNED THE IGNITION KEY. THE CAR IS ALWAYS PARKED IN THE GARAGE WHEN NOT IN USE. AS THE CAR HAS VERY LOW MILEAGE, ABOUT $15K MILES OVER A PERIOD OF TEN YEARS, AND I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. WHEN THE CAR WAS NOT IN USE THE CAR WAS CONNECTED TO A SMART CHARGER, MANUFACTURED AND RECOMMENDED BY THE CAR MANUFACTURER. (THE BATTERY WAS ALSO MADE BY PORSCHE) THE CHARGER WAS DISCONNECTED FIRST BEFORE THE CAR WAS BEING STARTED, LIKE I ALWAYS DO. AFTER THE EXPLOSION, MY GARAGE WAS FILLED WITH THE FUME FROM THE BATTERY, AND THE BATTERY FLUID STARTED POURING OUT ON THE GARAGE FLOOR. THE INCIDENCE WAS REPORTED TO DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY AND THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THEREAFTER FOR CLEANUP AND INSPECTION. SUBSEQUENTLY, A CLAIM/REPORT, INCLUDING PHOTO IMAGES OF THE EXPLODED BATTERY, WAS FILED WITH PORSCHE USA AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY. SO FAR PORSCHE USA IS CLAIMING THAT MY BATTERY WAS NOT MAINTAINED PROPERLY THOUGH MY CAR JUST HAD A 30K MILES SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE ON APRIL 20TH, 2010 AND MY BATTERY WAS MAINTAINED IN A WAY RECOMMENDED BY PORSCHE. MY QUESTION TO PORSCHE IN ARGUING MY CASE IS THAT WHETHER THEY REGARD AN EXPLODED BATTERY, UNDER NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS, IS ACCEPTABLE AND TO BE EXPECTED. IN A SENSE I FEEL FORTUNATE THAT THE EXPLOSION DID NOT RESULT IN INJURIES OR FIRE, WHICH WOULD BE CATASTROPHIC, CONSIDERING WHERE THE CAR WAS PARKED AT THE TIME.
