ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

ABS / VSA module failed at 90k miles causing spongy brakes. Acura quoted me $3500 for a new module which is more than the value of the car.

NHTSA complaint #11740546 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2004 Acura TSX Grand Rapids, MI

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

While driving the vehicle, the vehicle suddenly shutoff and powered on again. After do some diagnostics we determined is was the ECU/ECM. The ECM has corrosion on the top which caused salty water to eat through the lid. Doing some research this vehicle make and model has recall but doesn’t show up under my vin. I’ve contacted the manufacturer which was willing to help but the dealership seems to not want to help since no recall was under the vin so the manufacturer “HONDA” has closed the case but hasn’t given me any answer to why. I’m in contact again with the manufacturer waiting for a call back hopefully today 4-21-26

2012 Acura TSX San Diego, CA

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Driving on the freeway. Going 65-70mph EPS (electric power steering) indicator light came on. A message was also sent in inbox of car stating code such as 32 and 61. Steering wheel became stiff and was difficult to steer when car not moving. Went to auto zone to check out if there was any code and there was none. I change to a new battery and check steering fuse everything seem fine with charging system. I did research and found out there was many vehicle like mine that have the same issue. Also, look at Acura forums and some said there was a recall with the EPS. Please help me figure out this issue. Thank you.

2012 Acura TSX Edison, NJ

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Check engine Transmission ABS VSA TPMS All lights went on suddenly. While I was driving suddenly all lights came on dashboard. I’ve used OBD scanner to find the root cause but the problem can’t be detected. I went to Acura dealer in NJ and paid $250. They inspected, and said it could be this Instrument cluster or that ECu. But they did not said anything concrete what could be faulty. Both are expensive to replace around $2000-$4000 each The lights comes and goes. These lights are not persistent. I’ve been driving with it. Sometimes when the lights are on AC DOESNT WORK, steering loses control for a second. When it loses control car swerves. It’s dangerous but I’ve been driving with caution ⚠️ In past, electric power steering was malfunction and I had it replaced for $1500. I will never purchase Acura or Honda for lifetime It should be recalled

2004 Acura TSX Queens Village, NY

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

This vehicle was taken in for a recall for a corrosive ECM. 1 hour prior to taking this vehicle in my assigned service writer gave me a call, your vehicle is ready for pick up. I was advised due to their visual inspection of the ECM( Electronic control module)(electrical computer) not having corrosion, they will not change the unit but they have decided to replace the cover on the unit. I've filed a concerning complaint to Acura headquarters due to my knowledge of cars to have it on file what was told to me before receiving the vehicle. Due to my knowledge a faulty ECM can trigger numerous faults within the vehicles performance.Prior to bringing the vehicle to the dealership, I've been experiencing heavy misfires, poor radio connection, no interior lights and triggered headlights. I've replaced the necessary mechanics that would normal be the cause of these issues and the problem was still existing. The last option was the ECM,which fueled my search of a recall on these models for a faulty ECM. A few weeks later I've contacted another dealership in hopes they would take care of the problem, the representative was polite and reassured me the recall was suppose to be replaced with a new unit under manufacturer policy. However this could not be done because the previous dealer has marked the vehicle as a completed task. So I filed another complaint and have not received any further notice regarding my concern. A few weeks later I had the vehicle diagnosed and realized the ECM was never replaced nor removed out of the vehicle for inspection. Pictures and video where taken of this unit,as you can see the build up of dirt and dust from its original installment back in 2004. Later reading the review of that specific dealership, I've learned their has been numerous complaints regarding poor service at that locations service department.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

My headlights always flicker and turn off everytime i drive within 5 minutes of driving. it gets really bad when i drive in cold/wet weather and i’ve replaced the bulbs a good 5 times. Something is wrong with my suspension i think? my VSC and warning light always automatically come and stay on and my car makes a noise everytime i turn/reverse. My car continues to start smoking when i drive, especifically on hot days and multiple mechanics have said i have a severe oil leak/power steering leak and i’ve gone to 3 within the last 6 months. So i’m not sure what to do and i seen the recalls on all of the things i listed above for my model of car just not specifically for my vin number. please help.

Car last year began randomly displaying VSA code during inclement weather. Took vehicle for diagnostic and report showed APS sensor issues. Replaced acceleration pedal. Car then lost power steering. Replaced pump. Can began having loss of power while using cruise control and steering would stiffen. Yet, only during inclement weather while driving. The Engine light with emmisions control warning would display and the clear on its on usually over night. Code diagnostics found possible 02 sensor or catalytic converter issues. Roughly six months later car cut off and wouldn't start replaced rack and pinion during to link at main connection. Car began having starting issues still then not holding charge replace battery twice due to B/S/A reporting pass. About 3 months ago car wouldn't turn over starter was faulty replaced starter. Ran diagnosis at advance auto showed battery issues, starter good and alternator good. Replaced battery and 02 sensor. Can Three weeks wouldn't start after driving to the gas station attempted to jump vehicle but didn't work. Called roadside service; however when service arrived vehicle started with no assistance. 2004 Acura TSX Atlanta, GA

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MY CAR A NUMBER OF TIMES AND ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS BEEN RAINING MY CAR WOULD TURN OFF AND THE LIGHTS WOULD START FLASHING AND THE VSA CONTROL LIGHTS WOULD COME ON. IT SCARED THE LIFE OUT OF ME. ITS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY A FEW TIMES AND REGULAR DRIVING ON THE ROADS. I HAVE ALSO BEEN DRIVING AND DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AND THE ACCELERATOR SEEMED TO STAY PRESSED DOWN. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. THERE MUST BE ELECTRICAL ISSUES, ALSO MY RADIO TENDS TO STOP WORKING AND THEN COMES ON RANDOMLY WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT. I HAVE ASKED HONDA BEFORE AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALLS. THERE SEEMS TO MANY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS CONNECTED TO THE VSA. I ALSO FOUND AT TIMES THE CARPETS WET IN THE FRONT AND THE CAR DOESN'T LEAK THAT I KNOW OF. I WISH ACURA WOULD HONOR THEIR RECALLS AND NOT PUT PEOPLES LIVES IN DANGER. IF SOMETHING DOES HAPPEN. I WANT IT DOCUMENTED AND THERE WILL BE ACTION TAKEN IF THEY DO NOT FIX MY ISSUES.

IMMOBILIZER GREEN KEY LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. I HAVE BEEN TROUBLESHOOTING AND FOUND CORROSION IN THE PCM/ECM CONTROL UNIT THAT IS UNDER THE CENTER COUNSEL. SALT-WATER SOAKED THE CARPETING AND THAT CORRODED THE FRAME OF THE UNIT AND GOT INSIDE AND ONTO THE CIRCUIT BOARD. I CHECKED FOR A RECALL AND THERE IS ONE FOR THIS MODEL AND YEAR. IT ASKED FOR THE VIN # AND IT CAME BACK TELLING ME IT WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. MY QUESTION IS WHY OTHER VIN# IS COVERED FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT MINE IS NOT. CORROSION IS CORROSION AND THE CAUSE IS A SALTWATER SOAKED CARPETING NEXT TO THE DRIVERS GAS PEDAL. CAR WAS STATIONARY, PRIVATE DRIVE AND CITY STREET PLEASE EXPLAIN.

THE BLUE TOOTH HAS ALWAYS BEEN SOUNDING STATICKY AND I REALIZED THAT UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL WATER FALLS THREW WHEN IT'S RAINING AND ACCUMULATE OR WETS MY FEET WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IF IT'S RAINING.

2012 Acura TSX at 3 miles Deptford, NJ

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

MY EPS (ELECTRIC POWER STEERING) MODULE FAILED WHILE I WAS MERGING TO MY RIGHT ON TO THE HIGHWAY ON RAMP. I WAS UNABLE TO STOP DUE TO THE CARS BEHIND ME AND UNABLE TO PULL OVER AS THE LAND SLOPED DOWN INTO A RETENTION POND. NOW I'M A YOUNG MEN AND WAS ABLE TO STEER THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY AND PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE MECHANIC AND ALSO DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE 2012-2014 TSX HAVE A RECURRING FAILURE ON THE EPS MODULE HAPPENING AROUND 75K MILES ( I HAVE ABOUT 100K). THIS RECALL WOULDN'T BENEFIT ME AS I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE ISSUE FIXED, THIS IS ARE THE OLDER WOMEN OR MAN NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO STEER A CAR WITHOUT POWERING STEERING AND COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT ENDING IN A CATASTROPHIC EVENT. I FEEL THAT THERE IS ENOUGH HISTORY WITH THIS PROBLEM TO AT LEAST BE INVESTIGATED FOR THE SAFETY OF DRIVES.

2012 Acura TSX Finksburg, MD

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

THE BLUETOOTH MODULE CONTINUOUSLY RUNS EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OFF/NON-OPERATIONAL. IT'S LED TO ME HAVING TO REPLACE THE BATTERY 5X IN THE 8 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. I DON'T HAVE ANY EXTERNAL ELECTRONIC DEVICES OR CHARGERS PLUGGED IN TO WHERE IT CAN CAUSE THE BATTERY TO DRAIN, NOR DO I LEAVE THE HEADLIGHTS OR CABIN LIGHTS ON. ACURA DEALERSHIPS CLAIM THERE IS NO ISSUE, HOWEVER THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT BY ACURA CUSTOMERS ONLINE.

WHILE I WAS DRIVING, THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED AND I ALMOST GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT AS I COULD NOT TURN MY CAR. I WAS LUCKY BUT MY LIFE COULD HAVE BEEN IN SERIOUS DANGER BECAUSE OF ACURA. THIS IS NOT A VERY OLD CAR AND DOES NOT HAVE A LOT OF MILEAGE. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO A MECHANIC AND SAID IT WOULD COST $1850 TO FIX. RIDICULOUS.
