When owners complained

A spike years after the car went on sale usually means a part wearing out on schedule across the whole fleet — the kind of pattern no single owner can see from inside their own car.

Recalls on the 2024 Dodge Charger EV

A complaint is one owner's allegation. A recall is the point at which the manufacturer or a regulator agreed the defect is real and dangerous enough to fix for free — however old the car is.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Jeep Wagoneer S and Dodge Charger electric vehicles. A software error may cause the instrument panel display to fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment," 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems for Light Vehicles," 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems," 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring System," and/or 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Risk: An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as gear selection and warning lights, increases the risk of a crash.

25V574000

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:PARK PAWL

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Dodge Charger and Jeep Wagoneer S electric vehicles. An incorrectly installed spring may cause the loss of the park function when the vehicle’s gear selector is placed in the park (P) position, which can result in a vehicle rollaway. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."

Risk: A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of a crash.

25V389000

BACK OVER PREVENTION:WARNINGS:EXTERNAL/PEDESTRIAN ALERT

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Dodge Charger vehicles. The amplifier may be missing software, which can prevent the amplifier from emitting exterior sound, including pedestrian warnings. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 141, "Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid Electric Vehicles."

Risk: A vehicle that does not emit sound may fail to alert pedestrians of a moving vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

I am reporting an ongoing electrical/charging system problem with my 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T. During August 2026 alone, my vehicle has been taken to the Dodge dealership four times for electrical-related problems, recalls, software updates, and/or repairs. Most recently, on August 14, 2026, I picked the vehicle up from the dealership after it had been serviced. While driving home from the dealership, the vehicle displayed a red electrical plug warning along with the message “SERVICE CHARGING SYSTEM.” I have a photograph documenting the warning. This is particularly concerning because the vehicle had just been returned to me as serviced/repaired, yet another charging/electrical-system warning appeared before I could even make it home. The vehicle has experienced repeated electrical-related issues requiring multiple dealership visits within a very short period of time. I am concerned about the reliability and safety of the vehicle’s electrical and high-voltage charging systems, especially because the problems continue despite repeated dealership service. I am requesting that NHTSA document and review this complaint for a possible recurring electrical or charging-system defect affecting the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona. I am also retaining all available photographs, dealership repair orders, service records, recall/update documentation, and dates the vehicle has been out of service.

SUSPENSION

The contact leased a 2024 Dodge Charger EV. The contact stated that after the passenger’s side rear tire became deflated, the vehicle was taken to a tire shop, and the contact was informed that there was severe inner tire wear that had caused the tire to deflate. The technician stated that the tires were cambered inward while driving due to the weight of the vehicle. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact discovered that all four tires exhibited the same failure. The flat tire was re-inflated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and the dealer was informed of the failure. The dealer stated that the tires need to be replaced; however, the contact declined to pay for the repair. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was approximately 13,600.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

After having been in the possession of my car for 2 weeks, it went into a "bricked" mode where it could not be started. The only fix was for it to be towed to a dealer who was able to disconnect the 12V battery and reconnect it. This allowed it to run but in a reduced capacity. One week later, it was bricked again. I had it towed to another dealership who replaced that battery. The battery was faulty and was causing the car to not get receive updates. Since then, this issue has happened one more time and I was able to "reset" the car by walking away for 15 minutes, allowing the computer to turn off then try again.

While driving today I came to a stop sign, stopped. Proceeded to go and the Forward collision camera and surround camera kicked on and played a tone with nothing in front of me. Then as I proceeded to get up to speed the cameras and surround would not shut off. Or allow me to exit the screen. The camera finally shut off after about 10-15 minutes of driving at highway speeds. This is not the first time this vehicle has done this.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

In early September 2025, I leased a 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV. Unfortunately, the vehicle has already been in the dealership service department three separate times since I took delivery. The first two service visits occurred after the vehicle completely bricked and would not turn on. I was informed that the vehicle’s electronic module required updating and that the batteries had repeatedly died. Most recently, the situation has escalated to a significant safety concern. Earlier this week, the vehicle began shaking and intermittently accelerating and decelerating on its own while in operation(I have video proof of this) This behavior poses a serious danger to me and to others on the road. Due to these ongoing issues, I filed a formal complaint with Stellantis and was assigned case number [XXX]. I have been working with Stellantis representative Steve Stander; however, communication has been extremely difficult. Unfortunately, Mr. Stander has not been responsive to phone calls or emails in a timely manner, which has made resolving this matter challenging. At this time, the vehicle is once again in the shop, leaving me without transportation. During our last discussion, Mr. Stander acknowledged that Stellantis understands the vehicle is not dependable and offered $10,000 in down payment assistance along with employee pricing on a new Stellantis product. However, I currently still owe approximately $3,400 on the lease. Given the serious safety issues and repeated failures of the vehicle, I am requesting Stellantis’ assistance in grounding the lease and covering the remaining $3,400 balance so that I may exit this lease. I also previously sent Mr. Stander a video clearly showing the vehicle accelerating on its own to document the issue. I would greatly appreciate your help in resolving this matter as quickly as possible. It is urgent that I be able to safely exit this vehicle situation. VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

While cruising on the highway at 55 MPH, I received a dashboard error message that indicated "Service Shifter". At the same moment, the lights on the gear lever went dark. I immediately took my foot off the throttle pedal, activated my right indicator, and changed lanes into the exit lane to leave the highway and determine what was wrong. As I was coasting down the exit ramp, I began to apply the brakes in order to stop at a red traffic light at the end of the exit ramp. The car directly ahead of me, by three car lengths began to decelerate quickly, and therefore I applied greater force to the brake pedal. It was at the very moment I applied greater brake force that the car actually began to accelerate, instead of slow down. This caused me to apply even more brake pedal downforce, and after what felt like all four wheels "shuddering", the can started to slow down and come to a stop. Other than the initial error message about the shifter in gauge cluster, there were no other error lights, sounds or messages when the unintended acceleration occurred. The conditions at the time this happened was it was 50 degrees F, and raining. The car was in Wet/Snow mode, with brake regen locked at Level 1.

I was sitting at an exit from a store waiting to pull out into an intersection. Full foot on the brake, and I know for certain I wasn't accidentally hitting the accelerator because on the first "jump" I checked to make sure. It lurched through the brakes multiple times bucking like a cammed car would. Then threw all these warning lights, turtle icon came up saying speed limited, and the collision lights came on as well as traction control was disabled. Shut off and wouldn't power back on for a few minutes leaving the entire front half of my car sitting in oncoming traffic. I've had this issue since day one. At first I thought it was from having the seats back in the furthest most position, but after testing its not. One of my friends legs got caught when trying to get out causing him to fall. Another's entire body was pinched because they cant get out in under 5 seconds.. If you have children do NOT put them in the back if you are having this issue. There is no safety mechanism in place and you have to way for the seat to go back all the way and reset the setback to get it to move forward again. Quickest solution I've found to get someone out in this situation is to allow it to fully adjust back, and manually adjusting the seat forward. I have not been able to charge the vehicle consistently at any stations since purchase in 8/28. I would get nonstop errors, having to un-plug and re-plug in the vehicle every 5-10%, sometimes not even working at all. I've been left stranded with less than 5% left and when I returned to the dealership to get an emergency charge just to get home they called the police on me and trespassed me from their lot.. I've only been able to get it to work at a tesla charger once. I've used multiple different adapters from Amazon including the Dewalt and Lectron adapters. The only one that's worked so far is the charger in Easton, MD with the magic dock connector already installed.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

last Friday on my way home from lunch, my car went into turtle mode randomly as I was at stop light. Luckily, I was literally a half mile away from the dealership, so I limped to the dealership and parked it right in the service station. One of the service advisors immediately plugged in the computer to pull up the codes. The dealership was great and gave me a loaner and told me they had a special technician coming in on Tuesday to look at a different car and would have him take a look at mine. Well, the service manager called me today and said that the technician looked at the code and apparently dodge knows about the issue and is working on an update, but currently there is nothing they can do to fix it. He told me the update should be available in 4-6 weeks according to the tech. He gave me the customer care number and told me to contact them. He said he informed Tech Advisors and District Managers of my situation. The code is P3034-00, if anyone is interested.
