Recalls on the 2025 Dodge Charger EV
A complaint is one owner's allegation. A recall is the point at which
the manufacturer or a regulator agreed the defect is real and dangerous
enough to fix for free — however old the car is.

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:PARK PAWL
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Dodge Charger and Jeep Wagoneer S electric vehicles. An incorrectly installed spring may cause the loss of the park function when the vehicle’s gear selector is placed in the park (P) position, which can result in a vehicle rollaway. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
Risk: A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of a crash.

BACK OVER PREVENTION:WARNINGS:EXTERNAL/PEDESTRIAN ALERT
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Dodge Charger vehicles. The amplifier may be missing software, which can prevent the amplifier from emitting exterior sound, including pedestrian warnings. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 141, "Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid Electric Vehicles."
Risk: A vehicle that does not emit sound may fail to alert pedestrians of a moving vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report a serious safety malfunction involving my 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T Stage 1 EV. This incident has caused significant property damage. I arrived home and pulled into my driveway as I routinely do. I opened my garage door and waited for it to fully open before slowly pulling my vehicle into the garage. As soon as the car was positioned in the garage — a maneuver I have performed many times — the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly experienced rapid acceleration without warning. The acceleration was forceful and immediate. The vehicle propelled itself through the back wall of my garage, destroying the wall and items stored there, went airborne, and landed further out into my yard. The entire incident occurred so quickly that I was stunned and had no opportunity to react. Fortunately, I was not physically injured, but the outcome could easily have been catastrophic. The rear wall of my garage was completely destroyed, and my vehicle sustained extensive body damage. My car has been at the dealership, for approximately six weeks awaiting replacement body panels. While my insurance company has handled the property repairs efficiently, I continue to make payments on a vehicle that experienced a frightening malfunction through no fault of my own. My insurance has agreed to the supplemental estimate and committed to payment. But there are body panels that don't even have an ETA. So, I may be waiting for and making payments on a vehicle that I won't feel safe driving. After the incident, once I had time to process what occurred, I researched similar events involving this same vehicle model. I found multiple reports describing nearly identical scenarios, including unintended rapid acceleration while preparing to park. One report described a Dodge Charger Daytona EV accelerating through hedges into the road causing a 3 car crash.

I just had gotten my 2025 Dayton R/T EV and i was on the highway in my first drive…. Enjoying the hell out of my experience. I had driven abt 12 miles. Even got a powershot in when i had a free right away in the highway and man… 😔😞☹️ im so saddend to share that a car got over on my car and completely swiped the right side, then got over in front of me and slammed on their brakes…. All at 65 mph. Man… my car’s sensors didnt help at all and my airbags didnt deploy. My sensors never detected the car on the right getting close or that it slammed on brakes…. All my sensors are still green in the car, but my abs and other lights are on. Airbags didnt deploy crashing st 65 mph snd I stopped breathing for a few minutes the other driver snd passengers said. All I saw was the csr slam on brakes and then I woke up with 5 cops and 2 ems bombarding me with questions I had no clue to answer as my head was dizzy. Once I got to my senses they asked why my air bags didnt deploy and if it was a 2025 ev how did i get brake checked with security sensors and regen brakes. And I cant answer that only dodge can… ☹️ man im devesated. My car is also still registered to dodge… so when I went to the impound and shiwed them my info they told me I couldnt get the car out even with me showing them my welcoming emails apps etc. so now the car is stuck there. Racking up a crap ton of daily fees. Starting today. And I csnt even get the csr out if I tried. Now my payments. The storage fees. And to fix the vehicle as my deslership didnt add the car they switched me in because the one i signed for had problems to my policy. They left the one I never left the dealership with and I gave me the new one without asking or inquiring abt insurance for the new vin… please help me guys. My lifes falling apart but im keeping my head up.. my right shouoder blade snd bsck is such a mess. Even after the hospital.

POWER TRAIN
The vehicle has experienced repeated failures of its electrical, high-voltage propulsion, charging, and starting systems. Beginning in November 2025, the vehicle intermittently failed to start, shut down while idling, displayed a “Service Charging System” message, and would not properly request energy when plugged in. During a subsequent repair visit, the customer reported an electrical-system message, failure to start, and that the vehicle would turn off by itself while driving. The authorized dealer performed extensive diagnostics, documented numerous high-voltage and electrical fault codes, consulted manufacturer technical assistance, and ultimately replaced the rear electric drive motor. Despite these repairs, the same or substantially similar problems have returned. The unexpected shutdown while driving presents a serious safety hazard because of the potential for sudden loss of propulsion in traffic. The vehicle is available for inspection.

As I pulled out of my driveway, my vehicle’s accelerator failed to respond to my input. The braking system worked flawlessly, with no delay in response. On August 15, 2026, my 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T became inoperable while being used on a public roadway. The vehicle could no longer be operated normally, leaving me stranded and requiring Dodge/Mopar Roadside Assistance. The vehicle entered an abnormal electrical/operating state and would not return to normal operation. Because I could not safely continue driving, I requested roadside assistance. The vehicle had to be transported to an authorized Dodge dealership. The vehicle was delivered after normal service hours on Saturday night and was left through the dealership’s after-hours/night-drop procedure for diagnosis when the service department reopens. This created a safety concern because the vehicle unexpectedly became disabled on a public roadway, creating a potential collision risk to the occupants and surrounding motorists. The vehicle has approximately 2,500 miles and had already required two prior warranty/service visits involving service-warning or service-light conditions within its first approximately 2,500 miles. The cause of this failure has not yet been determined. I do not want to speculate about the failed component before the authorized Dodge dealer completes diagnosis. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and is available for inspection. Dodge/Mopar Roadside Assistance and towing records document the incident and transport to the dealership. I am reporting this because a nearly new electric vehicle unexpectedly became inoperable during roadway use and required roadside assistance and towing. I am concerned about a possible electrical, propulsion, control-system, or software-related defect that could cause unexpected vehicle disablement.

battery pack control module, telematic box module, brake system control module, driver and passenger door latch module, ADAS camera module. I was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden, I lost all power (limp mode), a turtle light came on the dash then alot of other lights came on. Then as I'm trying to get off the freeway, I am on my brakes and it sounds like I was throttling and the power was full force. This is definitely a safety issue.

While driving on Route 130 in New Jersey on 7/6/26 at around noon I encountered a heavy rain storm. During this downpour I received warning messages about the emergency hood release being activated and that the car was entering limp mode with reduced propulsion. My car slowed to a crawl, luckily everyone was going slower thanks to the heavy rain and I was able to pull over to attempt to close the hood. It took around ten tries but I was finally able to get it to shut so I could drive home safely. This has happened before after a car wash so I suspect that there is some sort of electrical issue or short causing the hood to release when exposed to water.

1. car flashed text on dash "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon". this was when it was 'off' (vehicle was stuck not in park and it was unclear if engine was on or off, but could not shift gears or move car). I'm concerned the vehicle has electric failures and I drive a lot and with children on highways. Warnings for transmission, electric kept cycling. 2. safety was it was a big parking lot with families walking in front/ around my car with baseball fields in front for over 2 hours. 3. car is waiting for dealership to reproduce or confirm, but the car was towed yesterday but I was told its starting today. this car has multiple open cases for re-occuring problems with electric. 4. no prior warnings except intermittent service engine soon that would be on for a day, then off for a day a few times (had an appointment scheduled to assess but then this bigger problem occurred).

We have leased this car since May of 2025. It has been in the Dodge repair shop over a dozen times for the electrical system warning light coming on. It had to be towed tot he dealer twice for it, other times it was drivable to get it there. This car is a complete Lemon and we are trying to get Dodge/Stellantis to pay us or preferably to buy it back and they are stalling. The car is a danger to drive as the forward collision does not warn you or apply the brakes ever as it was supposed to do. The electrical problems continue and this car is not safe to drive and Dodge needs to be issuing a recall to get these off the road. We have filed a Lemon Law suit and they are not offering enough money for the problems the car has.

I was driving on a slower speed road and felt a jerk, my car lurched forward a little and I got a bunch various errors for break regen system, front park sense errors and a few other random faults. The car entered "turtle mode" signified by the turtle icon in my gauge cluster. This is the second time this has randomly happened, the first time happened two weeks prior as I was taking an off ramp off a highway. I have taken this vehicle in for repairs and updates before for unrelated issues but there hasn't been any solid solutions to the other various software issues with this vehicle. This is a major safety concern because I have not been able to reliably replicate this, my speed and control over acceleration is cut and not within my control fully. I am worried that this could occur when I'm at higher speeds. I have been able to safely park and turn the vehicle off and back on so it hasn't been inspected by police or anyone just yet due to no accidents occurring, only dealerships.
