Both the valve included in Ford's TSB 24-2185 and the clutch pack included in TSB 26-2328 both defaulted in the vehicle, causing debris and metal shavings to accumulate in the RDU which resulted in pitting of the gears and parts. This has resulted in a complete RDU replacement. The vehicle has only 65,700 miles.

Oil pump solenoid has been replaced 3 times and the vehicle is under 100,000 miles. There is a low oil light illuminates on dash board in addition to acceleration lose and a white smoke coming from under the hood and the back end of the vehicle. The 6th or 7th time this happened the Bronco had to be towed. There were many more problems included in this tow, powertrain failure, engine misfire, loss of power, crackling, popping sound from under the hood.

I am reporting a safety concern involving the transmission in my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport equipped with the 1.5L engine and 8-speed automatic transmission (8F35). I purchased this vehicle new in May 2022 with approximately 6 miles on it. At approximately 83,000 miles, the vehicle displayed a “Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power” warning through FordPass. The notification stated that a transmission clutch had not applied within the expected amount of time and warned that I may experience limited functionality, including unavailable gears. I took the vehicle to an authorized Ford dealership, All Star Ford Denham Springs, for diagnosis. On August 4, 2026, the dealership informed me in writing that the vehicle has an internal transmission failure and metal in the transmission fluid. The technician determined that the transmission requires complete replacement. I was subsequently quoted approximately $13,000 for the repair. I am concerned that an internal transmission failure of this nature could result in reduced propulsion, unavailable gears, abnormal shifting, or loss of vehicle mobility, particularly if the failure occurs while the vehicle is being driven. Thus being it did fail in the middle of a highway with the gas pedal no longer working. The car was then towed to the dealership and would not even go into neutral to remove the car from the trailer I am requesting that NHTSA review this failure and determine whether similar transmission/clutch failures are occurring in other 2022 Ford Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with the 8F35 transmission and whether this represents a broader safety defect. Ford has previously issued Customer Satisfaction Program 22B38 involving certain 2022 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with the 8F35 transmission. That program described a manufacturing issue involving a transmission clutch component and a potential long-term durability concern. I understand that my vehicle has not been confirmed to be included in that program

I've had a Blindspot warning light alert, told by dealership this is an electrical issue, after a web search, I see this is a common and known issue for Ford, yet no recall has been issued. I also have another know, common powertrain issue with my rear differential. The vehicle makes noise when turning, unstable when driving. The vehicle is less than 5yrs old and under 60k miles. Both issues are safety issues and could cause an electrical fires or vehicle stalling. I am scheduled for a 2nd inspection on 7/31 and hopefully repair.

It was Memorial Day and I was picking my bicycle up from my brother’s house. As I turned out onto the main road, my car stalled. Battery light on, auto start/stop blinking and car rattling. The car also gave me a note on the dash saying it needed to be in park. Took it to the dealer and they told me that a new transmission was required but haven’t been willing or able to give me the finer details of what is wrong with the transmission until they disassemble it. They wanted to make me pay $5 just for that and that is way out of budget for me. I come to find out recently that Ford is in the news again. This time for faulty transmissions and they seemed to care less to help me out financially. They know these transmissions are bad. I know that my car is not tied to the recall regarding transmissions in the 2018-21 Navigators, Expeditions or Explorers, but the dealer gave me an error code of P07E4 which sounds VERY SIMILAR to this issue with these 2018-21 cars referenced earlier. I feel lucky that i wasn’t on the highway or anything when this happened.

The vehicle is experiencing powertrain performance issues, including a persistent stutter, vehicle shuddering, and erratic RPM jumping while driving at 45-55 mph. These symptoms began immediately following the latest software flash in January 2026 and have progressively gotten worse. An Independent mechanic and a transmission specialist have inspected the vehicle and are unable to resolve the issue because no diagnostic trouble codes are being generated. There is a safety and engineering concern that the continuous reprogramming of the PCM & BCM has altered the vehicle’s operations outside of its initial factory design parameters. The vehicle has suffered an immediate drop in performance and fuel economy. In June 2026, I received another notification about Recall 25S76, not being completed yet by Sam Leman Ford. After several attempts to reach someone, I called an authorized secondary Ford dealership, Heller in Bloomington, who pulled the VIN data and stated they could not verify if the 25S76 recall was properly completed by the original servicing dealer. It seems as if there is a tracking failure on the manufacturer's side. While she stated there were notes by a service tech for mobile repair, the fact that I got another notification about the same recall’s intermediate repair not being completed, that signified to her it may not have been. Heller Ford stated the only way to know, is to attempt a 4th PCM reprogramming. If the manufacturer rejects the warranty reimbursement, the cost of the diagnostic labor hours will be billed to me. Consumers should not be held financially responsible for verifying faulty manufacturer documentation, nor should software patches be used as a substitute for replacing a physically defective, fire-prone component. By allowing the manufacturer to alter the vehicle's electrical and powertrain architecture rather than mandating a hardware replacement, consumers are left driving vehicles with degraded performance and an active hazards.

On 12/22/2025, my fiancé and I purchased a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport from LaFontaine Ford in Lansing, MI. During the initial purchase, we were not aware of any recalls or vehicle defects with the Bronco Sport. Roughly one month later, the check engine light came on, and after a thorough vehicle inspection, we were notified that there was a recall on the vehicle in regards to bad fuel injector(s), and that we needed to bring the vehicle back to the dealership for a computer update. After dropping the vehicle off at the dealership, we were notified that the engine was blown due to a cylinder misfire as a result of a bad fuel injector. We were also advised that the dealership had already completed the computer update prior to our purchase and cleared out the codes (critical misfire). The negligence of the dealership put my fiancé in extreme danger with selling us a vehicle with a critical fault that could cause a vehicle fire! The problem still has not been remedied as Ford is asking up to pay $3,483.00 for a new engine with them covering $4,457.00. I believe all of this should be covered under the recall and/or powertrain warranty since this issue has been well documented with Ford Bronco's prior to us purchasing the vehicle.

The car sputters when fuel is added but will drive. Went to get it checked out. Ford said it was spark plugs and a canister purge valve stuck. Got it looked at for a second opinion and they said the plugs were fine and the note saying the canister purge valve was stuck, but the canister purge valve was operating fine. Second opinion said it was throwing a transmission fault code. Possibly solenoid somewhere or an issue with the PCM, TCM or BCM. Then the car started shifting really hard, getting stuck in gears and shutting off. I had to get it towed to my house. I’m thinking there’s a bad PCM, TCM or BCM in this model and it just hasn’t been mentioned yet. Historically, Ford says it’s the spark plugs often and other issues and take several times to fix the issue. Last time it has a shut off problem, they tried two different things before replacing a solenoid somewhere and it lasted for a while up until now. Seems like they can’t really determine what’s wrong with it even after paying for the professional diagnostic fee

I am reporting a premature transmission failure on my 2022 Ford Bronco at approximately 85,000 miles. The vehicle required a full transmission replacement after experiencing internal transmission failure described by a Ford service manager as “something came apart inside the transmission.” The dealership quoted $13,000 for transmission replacement. Independent transmission specialists quoted approximately half that amount, indicating the dealership pricing is inflated. A major drivetrain failure at this mileage is abnormal and suggests a manufacturing defect. This issue renders the vehicle unsafe and unreliable and occurred far earlier than the expected life of a transmission. I am concerned this represents a systemic defect in Ford Bronco transmissions and request this complaint be documented and investigated.

Transmission failed, Ford diagnosed it as needing the torque converter replaced, however, after this was fixed at a transmission shop, the problem persisted and that mechanic said the transmission needs to be rebuilt. My safety was out at risk when my vehicle stalled at an intersection and would not accelerate. Also, on two occasions, when the vehicle was put into reverse, it jerked forward and did not go backwards. Luckily nothing was hit in front of my vehicle, although it could have due to being in a parking spot when theirs happened. Ford confirmed an issue on 11/3/25 and another independent mechanic replaced the converter, but stayed the transmission needs to be rebuilt after that did not correct the problem. He states that the torque converter would not cause the reverse issues. Initially, no warning lamps came on, but now the wrench light and check engine light are on. Ford app gave two errors, one on 11/13/25: Powertrain malfunction/reduced power What Is Happening? The transmission control module has detected a concern when trying to shift to 8th gear. A failsafe logic disables 7th gear for the remainder of this key cycle. What Should I Do? Along with the current unable to be fixed PCM recall, the customer service satisfaction program regarding the drivers side buckle replacement and the replacement of high-pressure fuel injectors that I was told they will only replace if there is an issue because it is not considered a recall. I have had multiple other recalls that were done and several issues that weren't related to recalls. In the first year the bushings were replaced to ease the loud noise when backing up. At 36,0000 miles I had no heat. The water pump failed and was fixed under powertrain warranty. At 41000 miles (just over warranty) the AC stopped working. The condenser failed and was my responsibility to pay. Ford did work out a deal with me on that repair due to all of the other issues I had previously. Currently, my drivers side back seatbelt does not work, the car shudders when driving and recently my forward collision indicator goes off for no reason. I have not reached out to have these items checked yet as I have spent far to much time dealing with Ford. I bought this car to feel safe and confident on the road and I have never felt that. The lack of compassion from Ford for all the money wasted in missed work and repairs because they cannot produce a quality vehicle is abhorrent.

I have a 2022 Ford Bronco Big Bend that I bought brand new, and just three years later, the transmission completely failed—without any warning signs. No lights, no noises, no slow shifting. It just suddenly died while I was driving and left me stranded in the middle of the highway, which was incredibly dangerous. I immediately tried to move over to the right lane, but the car was behaving erratically— accelerating, slowing down, braking, then speeding up again on its own. Once it was taken to the mechanic, they found the shifter wasn’t even functioning properly. When placed in neutral, the car would accelerate. When placed in drive, it would go backward, and when in reverse, it would go forward. It was officially diagnosed with transmission failure after I had it towed to my nearest dealership. I’ve maintained this vehicle responsibly and have never driven it roughly or taken it off-road. Still, I was quoted nearly $10,000 to replace the transmission, which is outrageous for a three-year-old SUV. Ford refuses to cover the repair, even though this seems like a serious manufacturing issue. I’m still making payments on the vehicle, and now it’s completely unusable. I’ve heard of similar things happening to other ford broncos and I want there to be a full recall because it’s clearly a major problem.

While parking in a parking lot of a local store I pulled into a spot and stopped about 2 feet from a bumper post. I removed my foot from the brake pedal to pull closer to the post. The car began to idle forward. When I was as close to the post as I intended I stepped on the brake. The car continued to idle forward until I hit the post causing very minor damage to the hood of my car. After hitting the post I was stopped. I put the car in reverse and took my foot off the brake. The vehicle did not moved so i touched the gas intending to back up a foot or so. The car picked up speed. I braked, but the car continued to pick up speed. I pressed harder on the brake, feeling as though I was standing on it. The car did not stop nor slow down. While feeling as though I was standing on the brake the car sped up I would estimate to 5-7 mph. I traveled straight back across the drive lane and continued to back into the parking spot behind me and hit the bumper in that parking causing damage to my lift gate and miscellaneous electrical components and the rear bumper. I have a repair estimate for $3400.00. I reported to the store personnel, the local police, and was examined by emergency medical. It was determined there was no damage to store property and medical personnel found my blood pressure was mildly elevated and the I felt slightly disoriented, but otherwise tested normal. I can only surmise that this was a temporary software malfunction. Braking has returned to normal. I talked to a ford dealer's Rep and he did not know what could have caused it. On [XXX], the vehicle overheated during a commute, resulting in a blown radiator cap and an empty engine coolant reservoir. Coolant levels had been properly maintained up to that point. The following day, engine coolant was again low, though no visible leaks were found. On April 12, I requested warranty service but was told “services aren’t rendered on Saturdays” despite the service department being open. An appointment was scheduled for April 14 to inspect the overheating damage and address recall #25502. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) When I arrived on April 14, I was denied service due to the department being “backed up and understaffed.” I expressed concern about further driving the car in its condition, but Service Advisor Bill Crovo insisted it was safe to drive and denied my request to leave the vehicle on-site. I was also not offered a complimentary vehicle or alternative transportation. On April 17, I called to escalate the matter. The General Service Manager, Chris Gagnon, not only dismissed my concerns but stated he could refuse service on a vehicle that is clearly under active warranty coverage. This is not only unprofessional — it is illegal under Massachusetts consumer protection law. At this point, I was forced to seek help from other dealerships, one of which advised me to pressure the selling dealership to fulfill its obligation. I called back, and Mr. Gagnon assured me the issue would be handled. The vehicle was taken in on April 18, and the water pump was replaced. On April 24, I picked it up and drove just 21 miles before the engine began making an unfamiliar noise and the coolant reservoir was, once again, empty. I got the vehicle towed to a different dealership, Salem Ford in New Hampshire. The second dealership confirmed — in writing — that the first dealership skipped a critical step during the water pump replacement, directly causing the continued issue.
