I am reporting a safety-related transmission problem I experienced with my 2023 Ford F-150 equipped with the 10R80 automatic transmission. While driving normally, the transmission suddenly does not accelerate for up to 3 seconds while pressing the gas pedal, brakes either harshly or too soft at varying times, and very irregularly. This occurred while accelerating onto the highway, and almost every time I am braking at a stop sign or light, creating a potentially dangerous situation because the truck did not respond as expected when I needed predictable acceleration, propulsion, or deceleration. I believe this incident may be related to the known 10R80 CDF clutch-cylinder/sleeve problem. Ford technical information identifies axial movement of the CDF sleeve that can cause hydraulic-circuit leaks and harsh or delayed engagement and shifting. This condition can result in slipping, RPM flares, delayed engagement, unexpected gear changes, harsh downshifts, lurching, or loss of propulsion. This is a safety concern, not merely a transmission quality or reliability issue. Unexpected loss of propulsion or unpredictable shifting while merging, accelerating into traffic, crossing an intersection, turning, traveling at highway speeds, slowing down, and stopping, can create a collision hazard. Because I personally experienced this unexpected transmission event, I request that NHTSA investigate the 10R80 CDF clutch-cylinder/sleeve condition in Ford F-150s. Please review Ford warranty claims, dealer repair records, transmission replacements, consumer complaints, and field-failure data to determine whether this is a safety defect requiring a recall. I believe owners should not have to wait for a potentially dangerous transmission failure before this known condition is addressed.

I am reporting a safety-related transmission problem I experienced with my 2023 Ford F-150 equipped with the 10R80 automatic transmission. While driving normally, the transmission suddenly fails to engage then randomly shifts violently. This occurs when merging onto a highway, crossing an intersection, traveling at highway speed, stop-and-go traffic, creating a potentially dangerous drive. This is common issue with this type of transmission, mostly related to the drum itself; slipping thus causing its erratic behavior.

I am reporting a safety-related transmission problem I experienced with my 2023 Ford F-150 equipped with the 10R80 automatic transmission. While driving normally, the transmission suddenly lost the selected gear, its slipped, shifted violently, RPMs flared, unexpectedly downshifted from 5th to 1st. So I took it in and they said it was my torque converter going out, and that it wasn’t something that they were aware of being a problem. This occurred when accelerating, merging onto a highway, turning, or just when driving straight. Creating a potentially dangerous situation because the truck did not respond as expected when I needed predictable acceleration or propulsion. This can cause strain and damage to other parts on the transmission as well. This is a safety concern, not merely a transmission quality or reliability issue. Unexpected loss of propulsion or unpredictable shifting while merging, accelerating into traffic, crossing an intersection, turning, or traveling at highway speed can create a collision hazard. Because I personally experienced this unexpected transmission event, I request that NHTSA investigate the 10R80 CDF clutch-cylinder/sleeve condition in Ford F-150s. The Belt Integrated Starter Generator (BISG) on my 2023 Ford F-150 PowerBoost intermittently fails, triggering DTC P0A1E-00 and causing complete loss of electric drive mode during normal driving without warning. Vehicle continues running but with significantly reduced fuel efficiency until manually restarted. Fault occurrences are escalating in frequency: 9/13/2025 while running ProPower Onboard under medium load camping in the Everglades, 11/20/2025, then 3/3/2026, 3/6/2026, 3/10/2026, and 3/12/2026 — two occurrences within one hour during morning commute — seven total occurrences. All documented via Ford App push notifications. Sam Galloway Ford in Fort Myers, FL confirmed DTC P0A1E-00 on 3/4/2026. Repair estimated at $1,900 with part backordered minimum three months. I was charged $266.20 for the diagnostic. Ford Motor Company denied my warranty claim stating the part is not a hybrid unique component despite P0A1E-00 being a hybrid-specific fault code and Ford's own TSB 23-2279 covering this exact condition under warranty. I called Ford customer service 4 times 3/10/2026 and was told my claim ticket was closed on 3/4/2026, the same day I opened it without technical explanation. No one has returned my calls since and I was not provided written denial documents. A BBB complaint has been filed.

when i go to accelerate (not every time) (random times) from a near stop during a yielding situation, engine power hesitates to come back on. I've been nearly rear ended twice entering onto highways because of it. i have an appointment Friday with a dealership but they said that they may not be able to do anything for it...im reporting this because that is not acceptable behavior from a dealership. its a safety issue and its under warranty....FIX IT!! when this issue happens i can have the pedal full pressed and it takes several second for the engine to wake up from switching from electric to gas..(im only able to move 1 to 3 MPH)..or if i want it to snap out of it sooner i rapidly press the accelerator in and out multiple times....both ways eventually kicks the engine power back on lunging the truck forward.

On 7/18/25 I picked up F-150 from being repaired (failed Belt Drive Generator/Starter Tensioner). About 3 hours later I was driving up a long grade at about 5,000 feet when I stopped to check on my cargo (a bicycle). At this point I noticed the cooling fans were running increasingly fast, much faster then they had ever run before. I checked the digital temperature gauge and it showed a normal temperature. I opened the hood and saw there was no coolant in the overflow bottle. I assumed the truck was just a bit low on coolant and I had some (5 liters) water with me so I added that to the overflow bottle. Very little water was visible in the overflow bottle. I replaced the cap, turned off the A/C and immediately headed back to the dealer. At no point did the check engine light come on. At no point did the temperature gauge move from the "normal" area. At no point did any warning message of any time appear on the driver display - unless it occured when I was refilling the overflow bottle. The engine was not operating normally however, the gas engine stayed on at all times and did not cycle on and off as it normally would do (truck is a hybrid). When I arrived at the dealer they attempted to fill the coolant system and said it was completely empty - no sign of the 5 liters of water I put into the system. The cause of the leak was identified as the EGHR system, specifically the plastic coolant inlet port. This failure is discussed in Ford Customer Satisfaction Program 24N04 - attached. This failure should not have occured. But when it DID occur the vehcile should have warned the driver that a serious overheating event was occuring. No MIL was set. No driver warners were made and the temperature gauge remained in the normal range at all times. The ONLY way I because aware of the problem was by noticing the increasing speed of the cooling fans. This could lead to fire, or unexpected engine failure or burns from overheated radiator.

The rear axle bolts were both discovered to be broken during a recent tire change. Upon inspection at the dealership it was confirmed that both rear axle bolts had sheared off and had begun to wear the splines of the rear drive axle that would have resulted in loss of ability to maneuver or park the vehicle. The dealership indicated that a recall had been issued for similar previous models of my truck, but my truck was not included in the recall. I am asking for recall 23S65 to be expanded as it obviously did not include all affected vehicles.

I have a 2023 Ford F-150 that has experienced a fatigue fracture failure to the drivers side axle bolt exactly as described in recall 23S65. [XXX] My truck has 18,000 miles, and I noticed unusual noise while driving at low speed. I removed the separated axle bolt segment from within my wheel, and I continue to experience a squealing noise while lightly accelerating and braking. This failure can lead to sudden loss of acceleration or vehicles rolling away while parked. Symptoms can be subtle and often go unnoticed for significant durations of time and miles driven. Recall 23S65 does not include my VIN as my truck was built in February 2023, and the recall coverage terminates for trucks built in December 2022. I inquired with Ford's recall service line and they are unwilling to consider expanding the recall, and they recommended that I instead file a complaint with NHTSA. I believe that more trucks built after December 2022 are impacted by this defective axle design and I want to ensure eligibility for redesigned parts is accordingly extended. On numerous occasions the truck fails to accelerate and bogs down when taking off and turning at the same time. This has occurred when pulling out of a parking lot onto a busy street where cars are going the speed limit of 45 mph. When pulling out and making a turn you push the gas and nothing happens. The truck is basically coasting from the initial take off and is going less than 20 mph. Suddenly the cars that were coming down the road are right on top of you swerving and hitting there horn because they think you deliberately pulled out at the last minute in front of them. In actuality you pulled out of the parking lot with ample space. The problem is the truck did not accelerate. Secondly the truck handles terribly when pulling out of a driveway that has multiple angles. The truck can violently toss riders around in the seat at low speeds. This could cause someone to lose control of the steering wheel. I have reported these problems to ford dealer. I have either been told there is no problem or told “we found the problem and fixed it” only to experience the same dangerous faults time and time again. I have gone as far as telling the dealer to put in their records that I said “someone was going to get killed in a car wreck because of these flaws.”

Coming off the freeway, heard a loud noise in the rear of my truck. Then it sounded like rocks were getting pulverized. Luckily cars were able to avoid us in time where we pulled off onto the shoulder and engage the parking brake.

The transmission downshifts s hard after the vehicle is fully warmed up it will cause the rear tires to lock up on wet or slippery road conditions This may cause a loss of control and put the occupants of the vehicle in danger The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer but it has been in twice for this issue. the dealers do not have enough time to drive the vehicle long enough for the transmission problem to start. My truck is less than 1 month old and less than 1,000 miles. On two separate occasions, when attempting to start the ignition the engine will not start. A "Stop Safely Now" message appears on the dashboard, and the truck will power on the accessories only. Now matter how many attempts to turn on the ignition, the truck will not turn on. This leaves you completely stranded wherever you are. You do not know when this SSN message will occur, and can be a serious safety issue if being left stranded somewhere. There were no messages, codes, or other issues reported from the truck prior to this. The battery was checked and is sufficient. This is a problem with the powerboost hybrid engine in the Ford F150.

When coming to a stop, say a stop light or stop sign, after a few seconds at a complete stop, the vehicle lurches violently forward. First time it happened, I thought I was rear ended, but no one was behind me. According tho hundreds of posts on www.f150gen14.com, it seems to be a known issue with the Auxiliary Transmission Oil pump, but dealerships are not acknowledging the issue or claiming it's a non-warranty issue. Regardless of that, the safety concern is the vehicle lurching into traffic, pedestrian, car in front, etc.

Brand new truck with less than 500 miles on the odometer and now having issues with the auxiliary transmission pump which is responsible for switching between the hybrid system (engine to battery and vice versa). The issue with this is that is also makes the vehicle lurch forward as if it was rear ended, with the potential to hit something in front as a result. I left the vehicle with the dealer on Tuesday (7/25) and was just told on Thursday (7/27) that it would take a month before the vehicle can see their transmission department and that it would need to stay with them for the entire duration. I am now out of a vehicle I've owned for 2 weeks for the next month, and realistically even more time as once diagnosis occurs then more waiting is needed for parts/repair.
