While the RV was parked, the contact inspected the RV and crawled under the RV and noticed that the frame had several cracks. The contact found two cracks on the right side of the frame above the axle and one crack on the left side above the axle. The RV was taken to the dealer where it was confirmed that the frame had cracks above the axle. The dealer informed the contact that the RV could not be repaired and was a total loss. The contact notified the insurance company, who declined to file a report due to the damage being a factory defect. The RV remained at the dealer unrepaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.

The contact stated while inspecting the camper, he noticed that the subframe was collapsing. The contact stated he continued driving back to his residence after replacing the driver’s side tire. The contact took the camper to the local dealer and was informed that they were unable to repair the camper. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The VIN information was not available. The contact noted that the manufacturer has been notified and that the camper is not functional.

We bought the camper used, we had it inspected before we purchased it and there were no signs of water damage. The seller told us the floor was soft due to a design issue, which we confirmed by seeing post in several online forums about the bad design of the floor. The first night we slept in the trailer, the rear slide-out fell off with us in it. Luckily we were not injured. Looking the damage it appears water had entered the trailer between the walls so it was not visible and rotted the main support for the top of the slide out. We were able to lift the slide out up and put it back in the trailer but we are concerned to use it. We know we bought the trailer used "as is" and we do not expect the dealer or manufacturer will do anything to help us, but we feel this trailer should be recalled before someone is more serioulsy injured.

Upon inspection of the RV, the contact discovered that the battery had fallen out of the vehicle due to faulty metal straps. The contact was able to temporarily fix to the RV until reaching his destination. The contact was able to replace the battery and the straps to prevent the failure from returning. The contact linked the failure to a manufacturing defect. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered to assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 2,500.

This trailer has twelve bolts and nuts that retain the body of the trailer to the trailer frame. I had three of the nuts completely fall off while the remaining nine were only finger tight. Additionally there are two brackets that retain the LP gas line that connect to an outlet on the side of the trailer. These brackets are held in place by self threading screws. Both screws on my trailer have fallen off.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH on the freeway, the RV was driven to a rest stop where it was discovered that the air conditioning unit had dislodged from the roof of the RV. The RV was taken to the local dealer where it was determined that the bolts used to secure the air conditioning unit to the top of the RV had failed. The RV was not yet repaired. The contact stated that there were no water leaks in the RV. The trailer was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as a design flaw. The contact was informed that the floor was not made with sturdy enough materials. The independent mechanic stated that the flooring needed to be reinforced. The manufacturer was notified by email and a voice message however, the contact had not yet received a response in return from the manufacturer.

The contact stated that he had experienced six tire blowouts in the past 4 years. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no further assistance was provided. The failure was mileage was unknown. Consumer stated there is cracked welds and sagging suspension.

We purchased a 2018 Forest River Rockwood Windjammer 3006wk from a private seller on July 17th, 2021. Within less than five minutes of picking it up, the exterior kitchen door popped open, and hit a brick mail box near the side of the road. We are sure the door popped open, because the awning sticks out further than the door, and it was not effected. After the incident, I found a Windjammer forum with a post from another person who had issues with this same door popping open while the trailer was in motion. This was not a busy road, however if this had of happened on a highway or busy area, it could have caused serious injury. There was minimal damage to the mailbox, however extensive damage to our just purchased trailer. The exterior kitchen door was completely ripped off and unsalvageable. It is obvious that it had popped open, based on where the door shows impact. Also, when the door made the impact, it tore a small place in the side of the trailer body, again making it obvious the door had been pushed up and to an angle at impact. The front of the cabinets in the exterior kitchen flew off, and the refrigerator came open causing shelves from inside to shatter in the road. Therefore, in addition to the door being ripped off, there were a lot of debris flying out with it, which again could have caused serious injury. The trailer is available for inspection, however we will not be moving it again. Someone would need to come to trailer. Safety was put at risk because the door could have made impact with another vehicle, and/or the flying debris could have caused serious accident or injuries. It has not been reproduced or confirmed by dealer, as the damage is there and obvious in photos. We are not comfortable towing the trailer again. Police and insurance were not involved, because we were able to settle directly with owners of mailbox. There was no warning, and we were not aware of this being a problem, as we had just purchased the trailer.
