Spare tire attached by cable underneath camper came loose and was bouncing around on road while still attached to spare tire cable. I had tightened up the spare tire cable prior to our 95 mile trip home, but the cable unwound while traveling until the spare tire started bouncing on road. Fortunately we heard the noise before too much damage was done and we were fortunate the tire didn't come off and become a road hazard to anyone following us. I see on multiple social media postings where this is a known problem with other Geo Pro campers and should be fixed by Forest River through a recall due to the risk of the issue.

The contact stated while driving 55-60 MPH, the front and rear driver's side tires experienced blowouts. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The tires were replaced with a spare tire and a replacement tire. The tires were original tires. Additionally, the contact stated while driving to the residence, the rear passenger's side tire experienced a blowout. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road and noticed that the front passenger's side tire was also damaged. The contact's husband was in the process of purchasing two replacement tires from the tire shop. The front and rear passenger's side tires were not replaced. The tires were original tires. 2020 Forest River Rockwood 8326BH Travel Trailer purchased March 2, 2020. Castle Rock ST tires included on trailer at time of purchase as standard equipment. Feb 26, 2022, the drivers side front tire had a tread separation incident. The tread came off causing damage to the fender area. This occurred while at moderate speed approx. 50 mph, tire inflation was at recommended PSI of 80 at beginning of trip. Upon stopping to assess tires, it was noted that tread came completely off. The steel belts were exposed, checked the tire Pressure, it was 70 PSI. The two drivers side tires were replaced with a manufactures tires. After traveling another 5 or 6 miles the front passenger side tire had the same type failure. Causing damage to the area around wheels. Insurance adjuster inspected the trailer on 2-28-22. This occurred without warning or visible signs. From social media information and research found that tire failure issues are not uncommon with the Castle Rock tires supplied on Forest River travel trailers.

We heard a loud pop yesterday and found that one of our tires on our camper had exploded! Thankfully, the camper was sitting at our house. I researched the Forest River forums and there have been numerous reports of these tires exploding on and off the road. We are now concerned with the integrity of the other tires and fear of trailering on our next camping trip. The tires have less that 2,000 miles and are barely 2 years old. ST 205/75R14. It is my understanding these tires have been reported and are dangerous. We are lucky we were not driving. We always maintain proper tire pressure and use tire covers so this is a defective from the Castle Rock manufacturer.

The contact stated that while driving at various highway speeds while towing the RV, the RV was unstable. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the two rear passenger side tires had become out of round and one of the rear driver side tires had also become out of round. The cause of the failure was not determined. The faulty tires were replaced. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 5,000.

one of the four castle rock st205/75r14 tires mounted on my trailer blew out while driving down the highway at 55 mph. fortunately i have a dual axle trailer so the loss of one of the tires was not catastrophic. the tire that blew out was the front tire on the right side of the trailer. It looks like a belt separated and the ire blew around the circumference. I have the tire available for inspection, but intend to pursue a warranty claim for replacement with the rv manufacturer that may result in surrender of the tire. With only one tire in service on that side I felt that we were in danger of having or causing an accident. Although this happened on a highway with limited shoulders we were able to stop quickly along the side of the road and install a spare. I check the tires each morning before travelling and found the pressures correct and no signs of potential failure.

The contact owns a 2020 Forest River Rockwood trailered to a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 64 MPH, the tire pressure monitor alarm alerted him that the tire on the driver’s side front side of the trailer had zero air pressure. The contact pulled over, inspected the vehicle, and saw that the tire was flat. The contact called for roadside assistance and had a spare tire placed on the trailer. The next day the contact took the tire to an independent mechanic where they inspected the tire and discovered that the internal tire pressure monitor sensor clamp loosened and had fractured into pieces which caused the tire to run flat. The contact had the tire replaced; however, a new tire pressure monitor sensor was not installed on the rim. The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 2,500.

Tire size ST225/75/R15 On 7/16/2020 we were travelling and our passenger tire blew causing damage to the side of our trailer. We were on the Antioch Bridge and when we heard the noise we had to travel over a mile to slowly reach a safe area to pull over. When we got home we inspected the other tires and found that another tire had a huge bump on it. We replaced both tires at Les Schwab. We were told that these tires were not recommended to be on a trailer. Then on 7/14/2021 we were travelling on the highway and we heard a loud noise. We pulled over and discovered that one of the other original tires on the trailer had blown now making 3/4 tires. The tire had completely come apart, again very unsafe. We decided to take that tire and the 4th and final original tire to be replaced, by Les Schwab, only to be told the 4th tire also had very unusual wire exposure and very unsafe. In neither of the incidents was there any impact that caused the blowout. Both times my family of 5 was travelling in the towing vehicle. These tires have very low mileage. We were refunded a small portion of the cost, by the tires manafacturer.

I had tread separation issues with two of the four Castle Rock ST tires size 205/75/R14 on my 2020 travel trailer with less than 10,000 miles of use. One tire blew across the tire from side to side with complete separation of the tread. The second tire had a bulge lengthwise that completely wore the tread off an 8 inch section of the tire which was likely due to tread separation.

Despite never being used, and always stored with a tire cover and proper inflation, this ~4 year old spare tire spontaneously developed a tread bulge. The bulge decreased in size, but still remained visible, after deflation and removal from the wheel. An air bubble exists between the inner liner and the casing.
