So I am just driving and all these lights come on my dashboard about front collision warning failing and land departure failing and no traction control or power steering. It caused my car to slip in the rain since there is no ABS without traction control. I skid for a bit till I regained control and pulled over. This is such a common problem in this generation of cars there are 100 of YouTube videos and forums complaining about the ABS module failing this is a danger to others lives. How has this not been recalled as the brakes are so crucial?

There were no warnings the power steering failed just as the previous recalls on the 2000 model Hondas did but there's no recall for this one the ABS has been affected there's no power steering and reduced engine power on and off a number of safety lights on dash the exact symptoms as described for number of Honda's before this one even the same year model but not this one 2013 Honda Accord vin [XXX] . LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING

My Honda Accord is now difficult to drive due to tendency of steering wheel to cycle to the right at sporadic or random intervals. On more than three occasions, simply starting the car resulted in the steering wheel spinning to the right more than one full turn on it's own without my touching the steering wheel. The uncontrolled steering is more prevalent at lower speeds under 25 or 30 MPH and is even more challenging in close parking situations. Although I have driven the car without this problem for approximately 8 years, with the sudden onset of issues last month, the Honda dealer claims this recall is not covered on my VIN number due to the car being repossessed from the former owner who inflicted significant interior damage which totaled the car. By the time I purchased the car the interior was in pristine and newly repaired condition with a salvage title. To my knowledge and experience the car has never been involved in any wreck. Dealer would like approx. $4600 from me to make the repairs to the electronic steering gearbox which would normally be covered under the current recall (which expires next year for my 2013).

The vehicle was inspected by a certified technician at a Honda dealership, who confirmed that the braking failure stemmed from a malfunction of the ABS module. The technician also acknowledged that this issue is common in Hondas from the aforementioned model years. I relayed this information to Honda directly, along with my willingness to cover part of the repair cost, but was offered no resolution or goodwill support. The replacement part alone is quoted at over $3,100—an unacceptable burden for what appears to be a known issue. As a loyal Honda customer who has purchased five Honda vehicles over the years, I am extremely disappointed in the lack of accountability and response from both the dealership and American Honda Motor Co. 2013 Honda Accord experiencing a VSA modulator failure. The VSA modulator controls the Anti-lock Braking System, which is now not working on my vehicle. The local Honda Dealers have told me this is a common failure (I checked with two different Dealers). The repair cost for parts and labor is approximately $2500, with no guarantee it will not fail again. From research I found that the VSA failures are covered in later year Hondas, but not my year. I also found that other countries have forced Honda to cover these failures. I have filed a case with Honda, but the case was closed with Honda saying they would not do anything to reduce the cost of the replacement VSA modulator, which is being quoted as $2344 (for the part alone). A common safety part, such as the VSA modulator, should be replaced at little or no cost to the Customer.

MY ABS & all related braking lights on dash display pop up every now & then, on & off, & is not on permanently full time. Mechanic said it could be the module. I heard it last week on the radio about this Honda issue & said it was a safety & braking issue. I am reporting a critical safety issue with the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) modulator in my 2013 Honda Accord Ex. Malfunctioning sensors associated with the ABS and stability systems. -Repair Details: Replacement of the VSA modulator unit is often necessary. Cost of repair typically ranges between $2,000 and $3,000. Many owners report delays in repairs due to part availability. -Reports and Complaints: Numerous complaints can be found on forums, owner groups, and repair sites detailing identical failures in 2013–2017 Honda Accords. Commonly reported safety risks include increased stopping distances and difficulty maintaining control on slippery roads. Honda’s Response: Some owners report that Honda dealerships acknowledge the issue but do not offer repairs under warranty unless an extended warranty is in place. While driving my 2013 Honda Accord sedan on the turnpike, I experienced a critical failure of the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) modulator, which was later inspected and confirmed to be malfunctioning by a Honda service technician at South Motors Honda. This component is available for inspection upon request. As I was traveling at approximately 65 mph, the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) malfunctioned, causing the brakes to lock up when I attempted to slow down for traffic ahead. This sudden loss of braking control put my safety and the safety of others at significant risk, as I nearly collided with the vehicle in front of me. When my 2013 Accord was around 80,000 miles my dashboard lit up with "Forward Collison Warning System Failure." The following lights are also on, LDW, Power Steering, TPMS, Traction Control. I took my car to a mechanic and was told I needed a new VSA/ ABS Brake Control Module. I was told this is a common problem for Hondas and is dangerous as it disables traction control and could affect braking as well. The mechanic and a honda dealer quoted me $3,200 for this repair.

When starting the engine and while driving at speeds of 60+MPH, Malfunction lamp, FCW, VSA, LDW, Low tire pressure (TPMS), ECON mode, and EPS warning lights come on and vehicles slows to 10 MPH. Vehicle will remain in this condition until restarted which may or may not resolve the issue. Car will drive but not at speed desired and vehicles appears/sounds as if it is trying to change gears but cannot. The car continues to try to slow down to lower speeds.

The VSA Modulator on the 2013 Ex-L manual transmission has failed. It illuminated 7 lights. Steering light, abs, FCW, BRAKE, ABS, LDW, Traction Control. The abs modulator internally shuts off all systems within this car. The car is not able to pass inspection because of safety issues. After looking for a used part, i realized there were many complaints on this particular make and model. I am scared to drive the car with these issues, and with 1000s of cars having the same issue with the same part, i would think Honda would correct the issue without spending $1,000’s. There were no symptoms prior. It seems that the internal soldering on the VSA modulator has been coming apart, shutting down the system.
