ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

This has happened for the last 2.5 years and has happened between 5 and 10 times. While stopped at a traffic light the Auto-Stop feature activates. When the light changes and I attempt to move, the vehicle enters "cuts off" and the dash board directs me to shift to Park or to step on the brake to restart the engine. It take multiple attempts but then it switches to Accessory Mode after which it generally starts. - Two pictures have been included. The one at night was in [XXX] and the other during the day, was taken on the corner of [XXX] and [XXX] in [XXX]. I also have a short video clip of the [XXX] incident which occurred about two days before the [XXX] incident. Once this begins I put on my hazards to direct other vehicles to drive around. I have reported it to the dealer. The dealer assured me it was the battery and they tested the battery but the battery was fine. The issue is similar to other 2023 and is covered by TSB 23-008/23-010 (Video Link: [XXX] ) INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Driving approximately 15mph on a gravel road in my subdivision I noticed smoke or steam coming from under the hood. The time was approximately 10: 30 am on June 4,2026 the 2023 Honda Ridgeline with 41,000 miles was immediately stopped and put in park. I exited the vehicle and started to open the hood and fire streamed out from the front of the vehicle. I backed up and went to the rear door and retrieved my dog from the back seat. The vehicle is a total loss as the fire spread incredibly fast. I’m lucky to be alive today. There were no warnings or messages.

The approximate failure mileage was 53,000.

The infotainment system failed intermittently two times prior, causing failure of the backup camera and cross traffic warning sensor system. The entire system failed a month ago and Honda has no idea when they can get parts.

The rearview camera continues to fail after recall for the issue was completed. Estimate 6 months+ since recall was performed to replace camera tailgate wire harness. It has begun random failures again. There is no indication from the dash of an error. When placed in reverse, the camera display in the dash goes nearly black or totally black; sometimes lane back lines are present, sometimes not. The current problem is entirely consistent with the failure conditions and symptoms prior to the recall update to replace the wire harness. The problem can fairly routinely be triggered by multiple uses of the dual-action tailgate movement. A few flat down and back up, then a few swing-gate actions will generally trigger the failure. When the camera monitor does have a normal picture, it will stay that way indefinitely -until you again have repeated tailgate movements using the dual-action feature. It is generally possible to perform several dual-action movements of the tailgate and restore the camera monitor to a functional view. The recall and replacement with an "improved" wire harness has failed to last; the identical problem is recurring. The vehicle was at a Honda dealer today. They report no error codes, they report no continuity issues with the wire harness. Proposed remedy is to replace the camera unit, despite no error codes. The only basis seems to be that they could not "see" a problem with the harness. Nor can they explain why the circumstances are identical to what caused the initial recall, but still feel it's not the cable. Nor can they explain why my repeated movements of the tailgate can make the display work again. This is a considerable safety issue as it's extremely difficult to back up the vehicle if you can't see behind/below the tailgate. Mirrors are not enough; safe backing requires the use of the rear view camera.

The automatic high beam system is terrible. It is too sensitive so the beams flash hi/low on and off. Even a small road reflector on a dark empty road will force it back to low beam. Other cars I own with this type system work much better. It’s a safety hazard because auto hi-beam is on by default and you can’t count on it providing the correct amount of lighting when on dark roads, plus it annoys oncoming drivers because of the constant flashing.

While driving a slow speeds will stall. It has a stalled in the middle of an intersection almost causing us to get T-boned. The last time this happen I was driving in a shopping center going around 5 mph and it has stalled. The truck is currently at the dealership for the second time for the issue. Also the transmission while driving at slow speeds shutters and vibrates. Also the lane keeping feature tries to pulled us off the road while driving at slower speeds.

I have been getting recall notices and each time I've called (beginning of the recall and just now dec 11th) My Honda location has told me Honda has not released the the parts yet another notice will be sent to advise when they will be available for repair. This is very frustrating as I have time now for the repair to be done and I'm not always available for this process , so nothing has been on a timely manner as this has been ongoing for months and months now. I've not had any accidents YET!

1- The GPS unit doesn't understand me. Im told it cannot be repaired. Honda won't repair it. This is a safety hazard because I have to scramble for my phone to get directions. 2- The charging pad doesn't work. Again, Honda admits to the problem but has no fix. I must look away to charge up the phone when using it for GPS.

As stated earlier, The GPS does not work properly. Its voice command system does not work. This causes the driver to manually put the information in and causes the driver to take eyes off the road. Second, the charging pad does not work. In both incidences, I am told Honda has no repair. They do not seem to care. Hundreds of other owners, of all Honda vehicles are having the same problem. A recall is needed and fines need to be accessed.

While driving home, my Brand New 2023 Honda Ridgeline's, with 3,350 miles, transmission's warning light popped up and my transmission when into N while on the highway, I was on the fast lane, while I started noticing the lack of power coming out of the transmission. I almost hit several cars and almost got killed by a 18 wheeler because by the time I managed to reach the emergency lane, I was doing 35 miles on a 65 zone, highway. My truck got stuck in P till I removed the terminals from the battery and reset the system. The truck was available to be put on D, but now the gears are bouncing and the truck accelerate by itself while braking almost collating with the vehicle in front of me. Honda can not replicate the problem and says it is fine. I AM WORRY TO KILL SOMEONE ON THE ROAD FOR HONDA'S 9 SPEED TRANSMISSION.

Wireless Charger Doesn't Work with or without a case on my Samsung 22 Ultra (which works on every other of the 4 wireless chargers I have). So I just purchased the 23 RTL-E on 09/28/23. Upon taking possession of the vehicle, got in adjusted and began setting things up to my liking. I went to place my phone on the equipped charging mat and after some shifting and repositioning, the phone began to charge w/ the case on. That lasted all of about 4-10 seconds. After fiddling w/ it for a few more minutes, no luck. Finally, I decided to remove the case and same thing, it only charged 4-10 secs.Ive also tried my sons Iphone 14, both with and without the case, same thing over and over again. Dealership said there was no know issues w the wireless charging unit. However I have found numerous complaints of the same issue online.

Please note that I am a Deaf customer. My primary language is American Sign Language (ASL) and English written is my secondary language. Thank you for understanding. I just bought a 2023 Honda Ridgeline on June 6th, 2023. The "Auto Engine Idle Stop System Problem" error message in the dash has been the problem and appeared many times. I sent it back to the dealership, which was the third time, and the power window master switch was replaced on July 19th, 2023, but it still has not been resolved yet. I made an appointment with the dealership on Monday, July 31st, 2023, which will be 4th attempt. I am tired of it. It is very annoying. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your assistance with this matter.
