Recalls on the 2018 Infiniti Q60
A complaint is one owner's allegation. A recall is the point at which
the manufacturer or a regulator agreed the defect is real and dangerous
enough to fix for free — however old the car is.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Nissan Altima, Armada, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, Titan Diesel, Versa Note and Versa Sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti Q50, Q60, QX30 and QX80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 Nissan GT-R and Taxi and Infiniti QX50, QX60, Q70, Q70L vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Risk: The lack of an image in the back-up camera display increases the risk of a crash.
Canada — Transport Canada
Canada runs its own recall programme, and its campaigns do not
always mirror the American ones.
Recall 2019459126,195 units in Canada
Visual System
Issue: On certain vehicles, the rear view camera system does not return to the default setting when the transmission is shifted to reverse. This could cause a reduction in rear visibility if a driver had previously adjusted the camera display. Canadian regulations require that the rear view image returns to its original setting each time the camera is turned on. Safety Risk: Reduced rear visibility could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the software for the rear view camera.
Recall 2017375958 units in Canada
Fuel System
On certain vehicles, and incorrect fuel pressure map was used in the Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM) software as a result, the pressure regulator may fail to open to send fuel from the sub tank to the main tank. Under certain conditions, the fuel level in the main tank could be too low for the fuel pump to send fuel to the engine resulting in a loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the software for the Fuel Pump Control Module.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY SAW SOMETHING ON MY LANE SO I TRY TO AVOID IT BY CHANGING LANE BUT MY WHEELS LOCKED AND POWER STEERING SIGN CAME ON SO I ENDED UP DRIVING OVER AN OBJECT. I FORCED MY WHEEL TO THE EMERGENCY LANE SAFELY AFTER VEHICLES ZOOMING BY ME ON BOTH LANES AND TO A COMPLETE STOP. SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF, EXITED THE VEHICLE TO SEE SCRATCHES ON MY BUMPER. IT WAS RATHER HARD FOR ME TO FORCE THE WHEEL DUE TO MY MEDICAL DISABILITY FROM THE MILITARY. I DIDN'T DO A FULL INSPECTION SO WENT BACK INTO MY VEHICLE TURNED THE CAR ON AND THE SIGN WENT AWAY SO I KEPT DRIVING TO MY DESTINATION. WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE DIDN'T FEEL THE SAME IT KEPT STEERING TO THE RIGHT. THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS I GET IN MY CAR STARTED DRIVING BUT IT KEPT STEERING TO THE RIGHT SO I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND CHECKED AGAIN TO SEE THAT I HAD A FLAT TIRE RUNNING ON RUN FLATS AND SCRATCHED RIMS. SO I TAKE THE CAR TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT THAT THE CAR WAS ON RECALL ON JANUARY 18, 2018 AND I HAD LEASED THIS CAR ON MARCH 21,2018. THE DEALERSHIP THEN TOLD ME THEY CAN FIX THE POWER STEERING PROBLEM AND MY TIRES BUT THE SCRATCHES ON THE RIMS WAS MY FAULT AND I HAD TO PAY OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. REMIND YOU THIS VEHICLE WAS TITLED NEW WITH 14 MILES TO START OFF WITH WHEN I LEASED THE VEHICLE. While driving home, I experienced an extreme amount of white smoke coming from my exhaust. The smoke was so severe that I could barely see vehicles behind me. Because I was on the freeway and concerned about my safety and the safety of others, I pulled over when safe and had the vehicle towed home and then to an Infiniti dealership for diagnostics. I had previously researched Infiniti’s extended powertrain warranty for turbochargers applicable to my specific year/model and learned of premature turbocharger failures and the potential for resulting engine damage. The dealership confirmed that my turbocharger had failed, but also stated that my engine was failing and that the engine damage would not be covered under warranty. The service technician initially attributed the engine failure to inadequate oil changes. When I explained that I had recently had the oil changed and had consistently maintained the vehicle, he stated that because my oil changes were performed outside of the dealership, they may not have been done properly and the vehicle may not have been adequately inspected. He also referenced the hiring practices of other companies as a possible cause. I am concerned that this explanation is being used to avoid addressing whether the known turbocharger defect caused or contributed to the engine failure. There were no warning lights or other indications before this incident that my vehicle was experiencing a catastrophic mechanical problem. The failure occurred suddenly while I was traveling on the freeway, leaving my vehicle undriveable and requiring a tow. My primary concern is safety. If these turbochargers are known to fail prematurely and can cause significant oil leakage and subsequent engine damage, loss of power, or other mechanical failures, waiting until the turbocharger fails may create a serious safety hazard. A sudden loss of power or acceleration on a freeway could result in a collision, while substantial oil leakage can cause a fire.

Component/System: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) / Airbag Occupancy Classification System — Passenger Side What Happened: The airbag/SRS warning light illuminated on my 2018 Infiniti Q60 (VIN [XXX], 102,388 miles). The vehicle was taken to Sewell Infiniti of Dallas ([XXX]) for diagnosis. The technician performed a diagnostic scan and found fault code B00A0-00 related to the passenger seat occupancy classification system. The technician performed a relearn and reset procedure on the occupancy sensor (Step 1 of the progressive repair protocol, at a cost of $143.99). The relearn procedure failed. The technician confirmed the control units are functioning correctly but that the seat sensors have failed and only come with the new passenger front seat frame assembly. The technician also identified a fault code for the right front seat belt buckle switch located inside the passenger front seat belt buckle, which was found during the relearn attempt. The buckle is currently functional but the fault code is present. Sewell Infiniti confirmed the final repair required is replacement of the passenger front seat frame assembly at a quoted cost of $7,948.69, which includes the occupancy classification sensor and the seat belt buckle switch. This repair has not yet been authorized or completed. The vehicle is currently being driven with the airbag warning light illuminated and the occupancy sensor fault unresolved. Is the component available for inspection? Yes. The vehicle is in my possession and available for inspection upon request. How Safety Was Put at Risk: The passenger seat occupancy classification system is a critical component of the supplemental restraint system. Its function is to detect whether a passenger is present in the front passenger seat and to classify the occupant appropriately so that the airbag control module can determine whether and how to deploy the passenger frontal airbag in a collision. I own an Infiniti with fewer than 45,000 miles on it. Recently, the airbag warning light illuminated, so I brought the vehicle to an Infiniti dealership for diagnosis. I was informed that the issue is a known problem involving the seat frame and that the recommended repair is replacement of the seat frame. I was then quoted approximately $11,000 for the repair. I purchased this vehicle less than a year ago and am extremely concerned that a component critical to the airbag system has failed at such low mileage. More importantly, I have been advised that the airbag system will not work while this condition exists, creating what I believe to be a significant safety hazard. Given the low mileage of the vehicle, the reported history of this issue, and the potential impact on occupant safety, I am requesting that Infiniti review this matter. I

The vehicle was subject to an active manufacturer safety recall involving the oil pressure control system and diagnostic trouble code P06DA, which requires inspection and replacement of the Engine Room Sub-Harness if the condition is present. The defect was confirmed by an authorized dealer, DTC P06DA was verified, and the Engine Room Sub-Harness was replaced in accordance with the recall remedy instructions. However, the manufacturer failed to fully remedy the recall, as the consumer was required to pay a significant portion of the repair cost out-of-pocket. While the manufacturer provided partial reimbursement, the remaining balance was charged to the vehicle owner despite the repair being performed solely to address a safety recall condition. Requiring consumer payment to obtain a mandated safety recall repair does not constitute a complete or timely remedy under recall obligations. This complaint is submitted to document the manufacturer’s failure to fully comply with safety recall requirements and to seek appropriate oversight and corrective action.

In-dash airbag light stays on as well as the passenger side airbag. Took the vehicle to Infiniti dealership who recommended to change the OCS Unit and OCS Sensor which costs over $18,000+. Of course, the vehicle in question is not in warranty and we are not going to pay for the repair due to the fact cost to repair is equivalent to the value of the vehicle. This is a safety hazard and have looked at Infiniti forums with my model having the same issue. A disaster waiting to happen with airbag not deploying when front passenger is sitting there in case of an accident. This should be a mandatory recall! It appears Infiniti have had similar issue with other models. Hello, I purchased my Infiniti Q60 Red Sport brand new in 2028. About a year after that I started to have electrical issues with the car. I've brought it in to the Infiniti dealer in Valencia, CA numerous times during the warranty period (and a few times out of the warranty period), to have these issues addressed. Some were resolved and some were not. So In the past 4-5 years I've brought my vehicle in about 15 times or more to be fixed. The latest issue is a safety problem. About a week ago I noticed that the passenger seat belt sign on the dash does not come on when a passenger is seated without the belt engaged (normally I get a red warning sign that the seat belt is not buckled for the passenger). At the same time I also noticed that there's a red airbag indicator light that stays on at all times while driving. I brought the car in to the dealer again to have it diagnosed, but the service advisor stated that it will be $235 to diagnose the issue, and that more than likely I have to replace the whole seat for $3,500 or more, because the sensor is part of the seat. So to replace the sensor they have to replace the whole seat. I can not afford to pay thousands of dollars for something that is not wear and tear, nor abuse on my part. It seems to me that this should be covered my the manufacture, especially since the issue is safety related. I would greatly appreciate any help that you can offer. Thank you

I was driving down the road heading to work on a regular street, not even the highway or anything. I heard a loud bang like a gun shot and I almost swerved and crashed from how loud it was. I immediately pulled over to see if maybe I ran something over or anything else, when I had noticed my sunroof glass had exploded like completely dismantled from some type of force from the inside. The glass looks pushed out from the inside. I’ve been calling the dealer ship to ask about recalls. I have looked online and their is a whole forum page about other cars that had the same issue and there’s one specific to Infiniti models. Please help I just don’t want to fix it right now and have it keep on happening if it’s some type of manufacturing defect

The Infiniti Q60/Q50 has issues with the accessory belt. The belt is known to break without any warning or major signs of wear and tear. When the belt breaks it makes the car difficult to drive and poses a safety risk. This issue affects the 2017-2022 models. When the belt break it causes additional problems such as faulty water pumps, and engine over heating leading to major engine problems. These cars should have been recalled years ago. Drivers on social media have reported the problem with less that 10000 miles and up.

STEERING
Something is malfunctioning in the steering of this car...About a month ago I was driving my car and noticed it would not accelerate, it kept stalling but not shutting off, as well as it was swerving on it's own with the slightest bumps in the road, and I am not able to control the steerring. I called the service dept. at Colter Infiniti in Mesa Az where I purchased it and they towed it to their service center. They said that the battery was dead which caused the CAMS malfunction, they replaced the battery(infiniti battery) fixed the CAMS and I picked up my car. At first it seemed to function normally, the next day I drove to work and noticed it still swerving whenever I would drive on any uneven pavement or try to switch lanes and have to cross over any bumps, the car will oversteer. This happens at speeds higher than 35-40 mph however, It happens under 35-40, but is controllable... I also took it to another Infiniti dealer Infiniti on Camelback, and they checked everything and said I should lower the tire pressure, I lowered them to 31(35 is recommended) and it still continues. I have checked car forums and they are saying it could be the Direct Adaptive Steering(DAS) , I asked the service department at Camelback to check that and they said they ran all tests and couldn't find a fault. No warning lights or codes come on, and dealer can't find the fault. I believe this issue is a computer failure and it will not throw a code since it is not a part or mechanical issue, it is computer issue. I also asked them to reset my computer and they said that wasn't necessary. I have reported this issue with Infiniti Consumer Affairs, I feel this car is a danger if i drive faster than 35-40 mph as it becomes uncontrollable.

WHEELS
There seems to be an issue with my 2018 Infiniti Q60 and I am not the only one. My allignment is perfect and my tires are new but the vehicle still tends to wander on the freeway which feels very unsafe and dangerous. I have spoken to others with this vehicle and they also have the same issue. Nobody can figure out what it is but it makes the car very uncomfortable to drive because you are constantly trying to steer the car back in its lane. Please do a recall in this vehicle before somebody gets seriously hurt out in the road. This is the Luxe 3.0t edition and Ive heard the same complaints on the Sport model aswell. We know for a fact that a new vehicle like this, especially stock with very low miles should not drive like this. This is could be a huge potential liability to the Nissan/Infiniti company.
