Recalls on the 2015 Infiniti QX60
A complaint is one owner's allegation. A recall is the point at which
the manufacturer or a regulator agreed the defect is real and dangerous
enough to fix for free — however old the car is.

AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Nissan Maxima, 2013-2016 Nissan Altima, NV200, LEAF, Sentra, and Pathfinder, 2014-2016 Nissan NV200 Taxi, Infiniti QX60, QX60 Hybrid, and Q50 Hybrid, 2014-2017 Nissan Rogue and Infiniti Q50, 2015-2016 Nissan Murano, Murano Hybrid, and Chevrolet City Express, 2014-2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid, and 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles. In these vehicles, the front seat passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.
Risk: If the passenger frontal air bag does not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, the passenger is at an increased risk of injury.

AIR BAGS:FRONTAL
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Altima and Pathfinder vehicles, 2013-2014 Nissan Sentra vehicles, 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles, 2014-2015 Infiniti QX60 vehicles and 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid vehicles. The affected vehicles received an incorrect occupant classification system (OCS) control unit during a repair. These OCS control units may incorrectly classify the front passenger seat as empty, when it is occupied by an adult.
Risk: If the OCS does not detect an adult occupant in the passenger seat, the passenger air bag would be deactivated. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the passenger.

SERVICE BRAKES
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Nissan Pathfinder and Infiniti QX60 vehicles manufactured August 14, 2014, to November 5, 2014, and 2014-2015 Nissan Rogue vehicles manufactured August 12, 2014, to November 15, 2014. During the assembly process, the front wheel hub assembly fasteners may not have been properly torqued.
Risk: The under-torqued fasteners may result in a brake caliper separating from the wheel assembly causing a reduction in braking performance or reduced steering control. These conditions increase the risk of a crash.
Canada — Transport Canada
Canada runs its own recall programme, and its campaigns do not
always mirror the American ones.
Recall 2016179257,130 units in Canada
Seats And Restraints
On certain vehicles, a defect in the occupant classification system could allow an adult sitting in the front passenger seat to be classified as a child or an “empty seat”. This would suppress the airbag, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Correction: For affected Altima, Maxima, Murano, Rogue and Sentra vehicles, dealers will reprogram the airbag control unit and the occupant classification system control unit. For affected Leaf, NV200, Pathfinder, Q50 and JX35/QX60 vehicles, dealers will replace the occupant classification system electronic control unit.
Recall 2015491184 units in Canada
Airbag
Certain vehicles serviced as part of recall 2014-093 or which had the Occupant Classification System (OCS) module replaced during servicing may have been fitted with an incorrect replacement OCS module. An incorrect OCS module would impair the effectiveness of the OCS, potentially failing to properly classify an adult passenger seated in the front passenger seat. This could increase the risk of injury to the occupant in a crash. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the OCS module.
Recall 201505680 units in Canada
Wheels
On certain vehicles, The front hub assembly bolts may not have been tightened to specification. If the bolts were to loosen, the brake caliper could separate from the wheel hub assembly, reducing braking performance and affecting vehicle stability. This could result in an accident causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and torque bolts to specification.

Upon arrival home, my wife and son had their doors open (driver's and passenger's front doors) and were in the process of getting out the vehicle. Shortly after, the vehicle began to roll backwards down the driveway, scraping the passenger front door along my truck. My son had to run backwards to get out from between the two vehicles. He could have been knocked by the door and run over. My wife attempted to press the brakes but the vehicle was off so the brakes did not work. It rolled back into the street and stopped on the curb on the other side. Thankfully no cars were passing by and hit the car as it rolled backward. After realizing that she and my son weren't hurt, she turned the vehicle on and drove it partially into the driveway to get it out of the street. The passenger front door was bent forward and was not able to be closed on it's own. It took some force to get it to the point where we could pull it into the garage. The vehicle was towed to a body shop and repaired under insurance. To my knowledge, the physical damage was repaired but no investigation into why the vehicle suddenly rolled backward was conducted while it was in the shop. We have not had a chance to take it in since we got it back from the body shop. No warning lights or symptoms of any kind had previously presented themselves. Pictures and the repair bill are available to share along with a video from our doorbell camera.

AFTER THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED, THE DRIVER ASSISTANCE PACKAGE OPTIONS AND THE MOVING OBJECT DETECTION AT THE FRONT NO LONGER WORKS. IT HAS BEEN AT THE COLLISION CENTER AND INFINITI DEALERSHIP FOR OVER 2 MONTHS AND THEY CAN NOT FIGURE OUT THE CAUSE OF THE MALFUNCTION. ALL THE INFINITI DEALERSHIP HAS DONE WAS SAID THE COMPUTER DOES NOT SHOW AN ERROR. I HAVE ASKED INFINITI TO CALL IN AN EXPERT ENGINEER IF THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. IF IT IS A FAULTY SYSTEM, INFINITI NEEDS TO DISCLOSE THAT TO THE PUBLIC BECAUSE I AM SURE THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS HAD A FRONT COLLISION IN A QX60. MANY PEOPLE MAY NOT EVEN KNOW THAT THIS FEATURE DOES NOT WORK ON THEIR VEHICLE ANY LONGER. IF THERE IS A FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM, THEN INFINITI SHOULD ALSO DISCLOSE THAT INSTEAD OF TRYING TO GET AWAY WITH NOT FIXING THE ISSUES. AS WE EXPECT THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY TO KEEP US SAFE, WE ALSO EXPECT OUR DIVER ASSISTANCE PACKAGE TO WORK PROPERLY AS WELL. *BF *BF

I WAS BCKNG OUT OF A PKNG SPOT BETWEEN 2 CARS AND THE BACK UP CAMERA SHOWED LOTS OF SPACE. I MADE SURE THE RIGHT OF MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT HIT PARKED CARS I WAS CLEAR ON THE LEFT. I BACKED UP A FEW INCHES AND HEARD GLASS BREAK AND TAPPED THE BEIGE BRICK WALL. UNTIL IMPACT THE SENSORS DID NOT LIGHT UP OR BEEP AT ALL. AT THE POINT OF IMPACT IT WAS FRENZY BEEPING. A WITNESS SAW THE INCIDENT AND WE WALKED BEHIND THE VEHICLE TO SEE DAMAGE. BECAUSE THE REAR LIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS STICK OUT FURTHER THAN THE BUMPER THE LIGHTS ARE DAMAGED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY, TMO CAME OUT TO LOOK AT MY ISSUE. HE TESTED THE BACK UP WITH AN EMPLOYEE STANDING BEHIND THE SAME SENSOR. IT DID IT'S JOB AND STARTED BEEPING AT APPROX A FT. FROM THE EMPLOYEE WHO WAS WEARING DARK UNIFORM CLOTHES. I WAS DISMISSED THAT THEY COULDN'T TEST THE SENSOR BECAUSE IT WAS DAMAGED (WHY WOULD AN EXECUTIVE PUT AN EMPLOYEE BEHIND THE SAME "DAMAGED" SENSOR THAT WORKED? I ASKED TMO OK HUMOR ME AND BACK INTO THAT BEIGE WALL OVER THERE - HE SAID TO GET IN,PASSENGER. HE PROCEEDED TO BACK INTO THE WALL, NEITHER LIGHTS NOR SENSOR LIGHT UP OR BEEPED. I LOOKED AT THE CAMERA LOOKED LIKE LOTS OF ROOM LEFT. I TOLD HIM TO KEEP GOING - SEE HOW CLOSE YOU CAN GET. HIS ANSWER WAS NO, MAYBE YOUR RIGHT IT DOESN'T DETECT LIGHT COLOR OBJECTS. CALL CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND TELL THEM. CONSUMER AFFAIRS BRANDON CALLED TODAY, HE SAID TO HOLD WHILE HE CALLED THE DEALER TO GET AN INTERNAL SPECIALIST SCHEDULED TO CHECK OUT THE SENSOR WITH THE SERVICE DEPT. BRANDON GOT BACK ON THE LINE AND SAID SINCE IT WAS A COLLISION NO WAY TO CHECK THE SENSORS. WELL, I HAVE A DRIVERS SENSORS THAT WASN'T AFFECTED TEST THAT ONE. THEY DECLINED. MY OWN FAMILY TESTING SHOWS THE SENSORS DO NOT DETECT A BEIGE OR WHITE COLOR UNTIL THE POINT OF IMPACT. I WAS TOLD NOT TO RELY ON ELECTRICAL THEY ARE AIDS ONLY AND COULD FAIL. BEWARE OF PEOPLE IN BEIGE OR WHITE.

Actually, I had oil change and 4 wheel alignment done at the same Infiniti dealer less than a year back on 6/25/25. At that visit, the only recommended work was to replace oil pan (beginning to rust), battery service, and wiper replacement. There was no mention of a rusting rear subframe. Shortly after purchasing this used vehicle from CarMax, the vehicle began experiencing serious mechanical failures involving the engine/emissions system, braking system, and suspension. The vehicle displayed a check engine warning light, and the selling dealer, CarMax Schaumburg, confirmed issues requiring repair, including a faulty oxygen sensor, brake-related repairs, and a suspension link. The vehicle was taken in for service, parts were ordered, and repairs were performed. Despite these repairs, the same issues reoccurred, requiring the vehicle to be returned for additional repair attempts. The problems were therefore reproduced after the initial repair, confirming the existence of unresolved defects. The vehicle was not reliably safe during this period. These failures posed safety risks due to reduced braking reliability, compromised vehicle stability, and engine performance concerns, which could affect drivability and safe operation under normal conditions. The defects were confirmed and serviced by the dealer, as documented through service communications and voicemail messages from CarMax. Warning indicators, including the check engine light, were present prior to repair and prompted service visits. Exact mileage at the time of the incidents is UNKNOWN, as it was not clearly disclosed at purchase. Before the issues were fully and permanently resolved, the vehicle was repossessed, resulting in the loss of the vehicle while unresolved safety and mechanical defects existed. The repossession prevented further inspection or repair by the consumer. The repaired components and service records should be available for inspection through the dealer. No police or insurance inspection occurred in connection with a collision, as the issue involved mechanical and safety defects rather than an accident.

Because I bought the car used in June of this year, around July, the driver's and passenger's side airbag warning lights on the display panel started flashing, then disappeared after a few days. After August, they kept flashing and then stopped altogether. I took it to an Infiniti dealership for inspection, and the mechanic reported that the airbag sensors were malfunctioning and there was no connection between the airbags and the computer system platform, and that other problems might even be discovered during the repair process. This result seriously affects my driving safety, and I believe it's a quality issue with the car's performance, not a problem caused by driving a used car.

As The vehicles drive it will intermittently lose power. This is continuous problem ever since 2 weeks after I purchased the vehicle. The power loss can last for 1 sec or most recently up to about 3 to 4 secs. The other day I had to pull over after the vehicle lost power and wait two minutes before starting back on the drive. When it loses power, the power steering goes out and if approaching a turn and/or a decent curve in the road, that can be very hazardous. I Believe this is a huge safety concern and many people have experienced the same malfunctions.

All but one time when getting the vehicle later it didn't have any issues. The battery has been tested and is good, I cleaned the terminals and still had it occur. Upon reading an Infiniti forum it sounds like it is an intermittent alternator issue or electric module. This put my daughter in a stalled vehicle in an intersection several times after trying to troubleshoot issues to resolve it.
