an unusual number of complaints, unusually dangerous
ones, or failures that arrived unusually early.
The dashed ring is 50 — the national norm. Further out is worse.

A spike years after the car went on sale usually means a part wearing
out on schedule across the whole fleet — the kind of pattern no single

NHTSA investigations into the 2017 Jaguar XE
An investigation is the step before a recall: the agency has seen enough
complaints to look into a pattern itself. An open one means it thinks
something may be wrong and nothing has been fixed yet.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 2016 Blomquist Report at www.nhtsa.gov/sites/nhtsa.gov/files/documents/expert_report-hrblomquist.pdf.C...
Recalls on the 2017 Jaguar XE
A complaint is one owner's allegation. A recall is the point at which
the manufacturer or a regulator agreed the defect is real and dangerous
enough to fix for free — however old the car is.

STRUCTURE:BODY
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2017-2018 and 2020 Jaguar XE vehicles that received a replacement rear rail assembly as part of a service repair. Missing spot welds may weaken the structural strength of the rear rail assembly.
Risk: The weakened rear rail assembly may allow the rear bumper beam to detach when the vehicle is being towed or the tow-bar assembly to detach when towing a trailer. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
17V286000
FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2017 XE vehicles equipped with a 2.0L diesel engine. The vehicles have a fuel return hose that may leak.
Risk: A diesel fuel leak onto the road surface may cause a skid hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. If the fuel leak contacts a hot engine or exhaust component, there would be an increased risk of a fire.
Canada — Transport Canada
Canada runs its own recall programme, and its campaigns do not
always mirror the American ones.
Recall 20175241,371 units in Canada
Lights And Instruments
On certain vehicles, the instrument cluster could go blank intermittently and be unable to display important information. This could result in the driver not being aware of vehicle speed or any malfunction lights turning on, which could affect vehicle performance and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the vehicle software.
Recall 201723459 units in Canada
Fuel System
On certain vehicles equipped with a 2.0L diesel engine, the fuel return hose could leak. This could cause a the fuel to leak onto the road surface which can present a skid hazard to other road users increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could also cause a fire. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel return hose.

I AM REPORTING THIS ACCIDENT REPORT FOR HER. AS CLEARLY DOCUMENTED BY THE ATTACHED VIDEO CLIP, SHE COMES AT THE FRONT OF THE GARAGE AND STOPS THE CAR FOR OPENING THE GARAGE DOOR. INSTEAD OF TURNING RIGHT SIDE TO PARK THE CAR THAT ACCELERATES WITHOUT ANY CONTROL STRAIGHTFORWARD AND HITS THE WALL. ALTHOUGH THE SPACE BETWEEN THE CAR AND WALL IS APPROXIMATELY 20- 22 FEET, THE DAMAGE IN THE CAR WAS A TOTAL DUE TO THE UNINTENTIONAL AND UNCONTROLLABLE ACCELERATION INDUCED HIGH SPEED [PICTURE IS ATTACHED]. MOREOVER, SHE HITS HER UPPER FRONT CHEST TO THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE AIR BAG OF THE CAR COMES AFTER THE IMPACT. THEREFORE, SHE HAD STERNUM AND RIB FRACTURES BY THE CHEST X-RAYS AND CHEST CT IMAGES FROM THE HOUSTON IMAGING LAB. THESE FRACTURES ARE VERY PAINFUL AND CAUSING A SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF HER QUALITY OF LIFE. WE BELIEVE THAT THIS UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT MAY BE RELATED TO THE MECHANICAL FAILURES OF HER 2017 JAGUAR XE WITH UNCONTROLLABLE ACCELERATION & MALFUNCTIONING AIR BAG. This vehicle has left me stranded with my family multiple times with out being able to pull over on the side of the road. It’s had so many coolant leaks, hoses bust, and a hand full of coolant leaks in the whole system. The jaguar dealership has worked on vehicle multiple of times without any success. The vehicle while driving didn’t even warn me the coolant was low. When I pulled over and opened the hood, it busted of the coolant cap on its own and coolant was busting out everywhere cause it to leak on me.
