how this vehicle has not been recalled is hard to comprehend how can no one care about safety ? I purchased (8/24)this vehicle used from Carvana. Since then I have had issues first the jeep death wobble (google it we’ll know to keep general public and i am certain you) When the vehicle reaches speeds over 55mph it shakes uncontrollably feels like vehicle is going to fall into pieces on the road hard to control immediately must slow down. The vehicle then has had countless battery recalls and still no fix. I am a mailman I work very hard for my money. I was hoping to save money with gas by plugging in vehicle but because of warnings from jeep I am unable to do that. The vehicle has so many known issues the price has plummeted. The vehicle because of this no one will take on trade or cannot be sold. How a company can get away with this is hard to understand please restore my confidence for consumers please

Q1: The steering and front suspension system malfunctioned. The vehicle experiences a severe “death wobble,” violent and uncontrolled shaking/oscillation of the steering wheel and front end after hitting bumps or uneven pavement, especially at higher speeds. The suspected affected components may include the steering linkage, track bar, steering damper/stabilizer, ball joints, tie rods, control arms, bushings, alignment/caster, or other front suspension/steering components. Q2: The defect causes violent steering wheel and front-end shaking while driving, creating a loss of stable steering control. When the wobble occurs, the vehicle becomes difficult to control and I have to slow down significantly to regain control. This creates a serious risk of a crash, especially at highway speeds, in traffic, on curves, or if another driver is nearby. The first time it happened I was on the highway near two tractor trailers who recognized the issue and slow down for me too. The condition puts me, my passengers, other motorists, pedestrians, and anyone near the roadway at risk because the vehicle can suddenly become unstable after normal road bumps or pavement irregularities. Q3: The problem has been brought to an local mechanic 3 times for repair or diagnosis, but the issue has not been resolved. The vehicle continues to experience the same severe steering/front-end wobble after those repair attempts. As of this complaint, the issue has not yet been formally diagnosed or resolved by an authorized Jeep dealer. I am filing this complaint because the condition remains unresolved and I believe it is a serious safety defect. Q4: The vehicle has been inspected and repaired by an local mechanic on 3 occasions related to this issue. The Healy dealership fixed the last recall right before this. I called them on the way home from the dealership when it first happened. Q4: There were no warning lamps or dashboard message before the wobble occurred. Became more aggressive in Jan 2026.

This is a known death wobble problem of jeep which i got while driving on highway with my family and could have got into an accident if would not control vehicle that time. My dealer is charger me for this issue which is costing me around 1200 usd and they are going to change the parts 1. Damper, Steering, 2. Tie rod end-outer-right or left for both sides. This is something which should have been covered under recall as its a serious safety issue.

Driving at highway speed (65-70mph) on curve with slight road surface deviation experienced the infamous "Death Wobble". Slowed to 45-50 mph before vehicle steering returned to normal. The steering dampener was previously replaced to fix the first time this happened. Apparently this is not a fox.

DEATH WOBBLE repeatedly while traveling on the highway at speeds above 60 MPH. Where is a terrain surface change, asphalt to bridge or and seam in the road cause a violent shaking of the front of the car. This has happened multiple times. I took the car to a car repair, there was no visual issues seen, but the repair people told me they no longer buy Jeeps as their personal vehocle because of the death wobble. They did not recommend a sway bar because in their experience it did not correct the issue.

I do believe the part that is failing on the 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is the “Steering Dampner” and anyone at anytime is MORE than welcome to look at and inspect touched or feel it. This is SAFETY RISK has the entire vehicle starts to shake and wobble uncontrollably and without warning. If not for quick reflexes we would have been in a chain reaction crash. Was able to release gas and coast to under 50mph making lots of people behind me unhappy. The dealer said he repaired dampner when we had 4,000 miles, now again at 16,700 miles it’s back and we almost ended upside down in a river. Either Jeep or NHTSA must need people to die before they can make truly effective repairs or just remove this model form inventory. I believe it has to be more than just a dampner and the front suspension parts should all be looked at. There was ABSOLUTELY no warnings, lights, sounds, or indication that we were almost plunged to our death. Angels had to be riding with us. Let’s get this fixed!! PLEASE 🙏🏻

I have experienced what is call "death wobble" multipletimes. This is a 2022 with 30k millage. It has been to a service center three times and the drag link with ends has been replaced twice. The problem continues and only happens at highway speed. This issue has put us in what could have been a serious accident with semi-trucks on 50+ mph multiple times. I feel like this is a possible life threatening situation. I have a dash cam video of this happening and have had multiple servers centers inspect it. They have not been able to reproduce the issue, highly intermittent. To have an authorized agent look at it, I will have to pay a $229 diagnostic fee. My Jeep Wrangler 4xe underwent Safety Recall 68C, which included high-voltage battery replacement and associated electrical system work. The vehicle was held at the Jeep dealership for approximately one month for completion of this recall. After being notified that Recall 68C was completed, I picked up the vehicle. Immediately upon pickup, I experienced electrical issues that were not present prior to the recall. Specifically, the passenger-side power running board failed to retract. The service manager accessed the area under the dashboard and restored operation, stating it was likely related to the battery replacement or electrical work performed during the recall. Upon driving the vehicle, I also noticed the steering wheel was not centered when driving straight, and the front end appeared visually misaligned. Less than 24 hours after pickup, while driving at approximately 65 mph on the freeway, the vehicle experienced sudden and violent steering oscillation consistent with death wobble. This required me to immediately pull over for safety. The vehicle had no prior history of death wobble, steering instability, or electrical running board issues before Recall 68C was performed. Due to the severity of the condition, the vehicle was towed back to the Jeep dealership for further inspection.

I’m writing to ask for you all to honor the recall for my jeep. I purchased a 2022 Jeep Wrangler in April of 2025 Months after the purchase I began to notice that on certain road conditions that my vehicle would shake violently back and forth at higher speeds if I hit a bump. As you can tell this causes great concern for mine and my children's well being. My teen son is also driving my vehicle which is also a concern. I've had it looked at by multiple shops who all state that the vehicle has a recall on the steering damper as it can create a death wobble. I attempted to take it to the Jeep dealership in Boulder, CO who refused to look at it stating my jeep doesnt count. However the mechanic and online states that it will honor any jeep that appears to have this issue to be looked at and fixed as you all were sued and claimed to have fixed the problem yet it still continues, and Jeep offers this as an extended offer for all jeeps. Jeep is refusing to honor the extended recall. So I am filing a complaint to get this fixed as this issue is not of my doing, not wear and tear.

I'm Experiencing a KNOWN Jeep issue called the "DEATH WOBBLE". I only have 17800 miles on the vehicle and I'm 6 months out of warranty. when this vehicle gets into the death wobble mood it becomes totally uncontrollable and extremely unsafe to drive. the driver needs to slow down to under 40MPH or to a complete stop for it to stop. Due to the track bar, steering damper and struts failing after less than 28k miles, the jeep is now exhibiting the previously investigated "Death wobble" causing a dangerous driving condition when exceeding 55mph. While driving, the vehicle began to shake so violently causing me to almost lose control and drive into oncoming traffic. The only way to stop the shaking was to have to stop suddenly on a 2 lane road and pull off on to a very dangerous shoulder. After taking the vehicle to the selling dealership, I was informed that although I am within the warranty limits for mileage I have passed the time frame for them to be able to cover the repair costs. The service advisor did agree that it is a known issue with Jeeps and that I was just "unlucky enough to get a bad jeep". The steering and suspension suddenly vibrated the whole car violently for over two miles straight, steering is uncontrollable it feels as if the wheels of the jeep were going to fall off. This is well known in the Jeep community as the death wobble. The component that failed was the steering damper. This results in the vehicle violently shaking at freeway speeds after hitting a bump. This has resulted in me having to pull over to get the issue to stop on multiple occasions. In addition, it can be difficult to keep control of the vehicle when this is happening and there is no set way to make it stop once it has begun. It is unpredictable, as it happens sometimes and does not others. One big danger is that it occurs most often when traveling at higher speeds. The vehicle is currently at the dealership getting fixed for the same issue. This is the 5th time that it has been taken in for the same issue. The component has failed 4 times since I got the car 3 years ago. I have taken the car to the dealership 5 times for the same issue. The first time I brought the car in for the issue, they replaced several parts, but not the steering damper. Within a month I brought the car back in for the same issue. Each time since then, they have replaced the steering damper along with other parts (Invoices will be attached to this report with part names and numbers). Each time the vehicle was taken in to the dealership, the mechanics were able to reproduce the issue. This is documented on each invoice I received. No warning lamps, messages, or any other warning signs were present prior to the issue occurring. The issue first occurred in February of 2023 (10 months after purchasing the car new). It was taken to the dealership for the first time on February 10, 2023. It was brought in for the repeated issue on March 9, 2023, March 18, 2024, March 14, 2025, and most recently on September 23, 2025.

DEATH WOBBLE. While driving at freeway speeds hitting a road bump my Jeep went into a severe uncontrollable shaking wherein the entire car was moving sideways and in an up and down motion. i did some research online and found this condition to be a common Jeep Wrangler problem. i brought the car to the dealer and they said it is a known problem with the steering damper. In my research online, many believe the problem is the tie rod, drag link and ball joints are the cause and the steering damper just masks the symptoms until it wears out. i had a third party off road repair shop look at the suspension parts and they noted the drag link had play within the bushings and recommended it be replaced. Upon not visit to the dealer, i asked them to check it out and they said everything was fine except the steering damper was bad. I had the replace the steering damper. I am still getting a shaking vibration at freeway speeds while hitting a bump in the road. it is not as severe but it definitely shakes the steering wheel and the vehicle enough to be concerned that something is wrong with the suspension. I was almost killed when my Jeep did the death wobble at 70 mph on the freeway. It violently shook out of control while I was in the fast lane of the freeway without warning. I had no control over the steering wheel, and it was pulling me towards the freeway wall. Slowing the car down was very difficult because it was jerking around so violently. I live in Michigan, if there was snow or ice it definitely would have been tragic. It’s in the shop under warranty, but jeep dealership telegraph rd in Southfield said something was bent and it was my fault why it went out of control. But whatever is bent, got bent from the violent shaking. I didn’t even hit anything. This happened on Thursday on the way to work, when I first got on the freeway it shook a little, and I was getting ready to pull over, then it stopped. 5 mins later that’s when the death wobble occurred. I took it to Jeep around a year ago when it was shaking. They said it didn’t do it, and nothing was wrong.

We later confirmed with Jeep Customer Care that the service center did not open a STAR case as requested, and the original case was closed without resolution. This issue is intermittent, which is well-known with death wobble cases, yet no action has been taken to investigate or repair the root cause. This raises serious concerns about driver and passenger safety. The issue is ongoing, and we have now had to reopen the case with Jeep and escalate the matter ourselves. We have also discovered inconsistencies with other service claims. For example, the dealership claimed the battery was replaced during a previous visit, yet the physical battery under the seat has a sticker showing the same manufacturing date as the original, raising doubts that it was actually replaced. This is a dangerous, unresolved issue affecting the safety of our vehicle, and we are seeking accountability and formal investigation through the proper channels.

Our Jeep has the Death Wobble and its been to the dealership twice. First trip, they had us replace the front shocks and the steering stabilizer/damper. Did not help at all. Now they are saying we should try a Tru-Center Stabilizer, by looking on the web, they think that will fix it. Really don't want or think we should have to keep tossing parts and money into this, hoping it might fix it. Right now we are afraid to drive it on the interstate. Its starts to shake so bad when we switch lanes on the interstate, it almost makes you want to hit the brakes. Traveling on an interstate is not a safe place to hit the brakes to stop the wobble or a place to have a car go out of control. Jeep is a 2022 Wrangler unlimited with 44000 miles on it. Stock suspension, no lift kit, stock wheels and tires.

The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle drove over a bump in the roadway, and the body of the vehicle was shaking and vibrating as if the body was going to be detached from the subframe. In addition, the contact stated that due to the failure, the contact was concerned that the wheels were going to detach from the vehicle. The contact decelerated and the vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact stated that the vehicle had previously experienced the failure, and the vehicle was diagnosed with steering damper failure, front and rear shocks, and struts, and an alignment needed to be performed. The failure reoccurred after driving approximately 10,000 miles. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 39,568.

SUSPENSION

Approximately 10 months ago, I noticed my steering wheel and tires began to wobble when I hit the same patch of rough road. The severe shaking would stop once I was on smoother pavement. This would happen sporadically. I had the tires balanced during the next service appointment. The problem did not occur again until a month or so later. I do not drive everyday, as I am a retired person. This is I think the “death wobble”, and it feels as if the car is out of control!
