Recalls on the 1997 Kenworth T2000
A complaint is one owner's allegation. A recall is the point at which
the manufacturer or a regulator agreed the defect is real and dangerous
enough to fix for free — however old the car is.
Canada — Transport Canada
Canada runs its own recall programme, and its campaigns do not
always mirror the American ones.

Suspension

Fuel System
NOTE: INCLUDES 1996-98 T2000 AND ALL OTHER 1996-97 KENWORTH MODELS EQUIPPED WITH CATERPILLAR 3406E ENGINES. THE ROUTING OF THE ELECTRICAL AND FUEL LINES IN THE REFERENCED ENGINES CAN CAUSE RUBBING OF THE ENGINE/ALTERNATOR HARNESS ON THE FUEL LINE AND CAN RESULT IN AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE. CORRECTION: VEHICLES WILL BE INSPECTED AND, WHERE THERE IS EVIDENCE OF WEAR DUE TO RUBBING BETWEEN THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS AND FUEL LINES, THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS AND/OR FUEL LINES WILL BE REPLACED AND ROUTED CORRECTLY.

Suspension
NOTE: VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRGLIDE 200 REAR SUSPENSION. DUE TO THE MATERIALS USED IN THE SWAY BAR ARMS AND THE STUDS AS WELL AS THE STUD PLATING, A COMBINATION OF STRESS CORROSION CRACKING AND BENDING FATIGUE CAN OCCUR WHICH COULD CAUSE THE STUD TO FAIL PREMATURELY. THIS COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND A CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. CORRECTION: SWAY BAR ARM ASSEMBLY WILL BE REPLACED WITH ONE OF A DIFFERENT MATERIAL. THE NEW STUDS WILL HAVE DIFFERENT THREADS AND A DIFFERENT FINISH.
