ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

My car has the same lcm control module issues as cars from the same years ad models, but when I enter my VIN it is not showing. +4 PO#3 1998-2000 Lincoln Town Car Lighting Control Module YW1T ... Yes, a recall exists for a 2003-2005 model year Ford/Lincoln Town Car lighting control module (LCM) failure that can cause a loss of headlights. The recall, #15S39, involves dealers installing a bypass module kit to fix the problem for free. The issue stems from a cracked solder joint inside the LCM that can lead to intermittent or complete headlight failure, increasing crash risk at night. The lcm is under the dash near the pedals. It causes loud vibrating noise for a long time and causes a parasitic drain to my battery almost daily especially when it's cool outside. The relay under the hood vibrates as well

The contact owns a 2006 Lincoln Town Car. The contact stated that after it rained, rainwater entered the vehicle, soaking the rear passenger’s and rear driver's side seats. The contact removed the debris around the doors, but the failure persisted. Additionally, the front driver's seat remained extremely hot even after the seat heater was turned off. The contact stated that the dealer had previously replaced the intake manifold; however, the failure recurred, and the vehicle made an abnormal sound while being started. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The car had a recall I didnt know about. It states the car may catch fire due to faulty part. I drove the vehicle home after work and parked it around 9:30 PM. The next morning a neighbor woke me up banging on my front door that my car was on fire. This was at 7 AM. The fire originated in the area close to the master cylinder like the recall states. Vehicle was a total loss. Not only that but it damaged the car it was parked behind.

This has happened to me 3 times in the past 3 months. While driving interstate highway at night and traveling 65 to 70 miles per hr., without any warning or symptoms, the headlights turn off. They then turn on and off a few times and then seem to correct themselves and stay on. This happens on trips after 1 hour or more. Has never occurred on shorter trips under 1 hour. Very dangerous and scary when it is so dark you can't see to pull over off the highway and also worried about vehicles approaching from behind not being able to see you in time. I replaced the headlight switch last week thinking that was the problem, but it happened again last night on my trip back from N.Y.

LOSS OF AM RECEPTION. OUR LOCAL FORD / LINCOLN DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THAT THERE IS A TSB ON MY VEHICLE. TSB 03-23-07 PUBLISHED NOVEMBER 18/03. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A REVISED HIDDEN ANTENNA MODULE WITH A BUILT-IN SIGNAL BOOSTER AND DIFFERENT WIRING HOOKUP TO THE REAR GLASS. THE KIT PART NUMBER IS 4W1Z-19G323-AA. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER SINCE IT IS A TSB AND NOT A RECALLS...I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE PART (APPROX. $170) AND 2.9HRS OF LABOR. SINCE IT IS A DEFECT I THINK THE REPAIRS SHOULD BE FREE.

TAKATA RECALL; AGAIN WHY IS MY CAR DELETED FROM THE LIST OF CARS WITH THE SAME YEAR? IS THERE SAFETY MORE IMPORTANT THAN MY FAMILY? FORD INTENTIONALLY INSTALLED A CHEAPER VERSION OF AIRBAG INFLATOR, KNOWING THERE WAS A PROBLEM. WHEN IS THIS DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT GOING TO GO AFTER THESE COMPANIES WHO VIOLATE THE LAW? MY 2005 DODGE TRUCK ALSO IS UNDER A RECALL FOR THE SAME THING, BUT THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX IT...WE WANT ACTION AND NOW< QUIT TELLING US THE CONSUMER LIES< LIKE WE"LL GET BACK TO YOU IN (2) BUSINESS DAYS.THIS IS ALL B.S.....A8.

OUR CAR HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED BY FORD OR NHTSA. NUMEROUS REQUESTS OVER THE LAST (2) YEARS HAVE NOT RETURNED A RESPONSE. WHY IS CARS FROM THE SAME YEAR BEING CONSIDERED AND NOT OURS? IS THEIR SAFETY MORE IMPORTANT THAN OURS? WHY ARE WE BEING IGNORED BY THE ESTABLISHMENT? THIS IS OUTRIGHT DISCRIMINATION..... WE HAVE SPENT $1200. FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR, ONLY TO FIND OUT WE NEED THE DRIVER SIDE INFLATOR ALSO FOR IT TO WORK. WHERE ARE THE PARTS? WHY HASN'T FOQRD MADE THESE PARTS AVAILABLE? THEY HAVE NEGLECTED OUR SAFETY..... WE CAN NOT EVEN CARRY OUR GRAND CHILDREN IN OUR VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS . WHERE'S THE JUSTICE IN THIS? THIS SAME SITUATION APPLIES FOR MY 2005 DODGE RAM PICKUP, AGAIN NO PARTS AVAILABLE. WHY DON'T YOU JUST REPLACE THEM WITH TAKATA-INFLATOR, LIKE WE HAVE NOW, IF IT LASTS (10) MORE YEARS,AT LEAST WE'LL BE SAFE...DOES ANYONE IN WASHINGTON DO THEIR JOBS ANYMORE? MAYBE IT'S TIME FOR NEW LEADERSHIP, AND NOT THE DEMOCRATIC DO NOTHING PARTY...YOU HAVE HAD (8) YEARS, FOR HEAVENS SAKE , GET MOVING....
