When curving left my steering wheel will get “stuck”. It becomes heavy and then jerks back like it just “unlocked”. I haven’t had to pull it back forcefully, yet, but I’m sure it’s not far off. Went to Mazda dealership who state it’s mechanically related to a rack and pinion within the steering components. My car was part of the initial “sticky steering” recall which the previous owner had done in March of 2024. Happy to allow inspection if needed. My safety, along with the safety of others, is at risk anytime I travel along a curve where I could cross into on coming traffic because I am unable to forcefully move my steering wheel out of the “sticking” position. Potentially deadly. Mainly notice it around speeds of 45+ regardless of weather.

I am writing to formally notify you that I have officially filed comprehensive complaints with the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance (TDCI, Case #202604748), and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) regarding Wyatt Johnson Mazda. I am submitting my vehicle's official Warranty Vehicle Inquiry Report as evidence of consistent technical issues and mismanagement by Wyatt Johnson Mazda. Please note the following: History of Repeated Technical Issues: The Warranty History shows a long list of repairs, including PCM/TCM reprogramming and other electronic service actions performed by the same dealer. This demonstrates that the vehicle has had ongoing, recurring technical problems that the dealer was well aware of. Contradiction in Dealership's Claims: Despite this extensive record of technical service, when I brought the vehicle in for the steering issue, the dealer claimed there was "no issue." This report clearly proves the dealer has been documenting and performing technical service on this specific VIN since 2023, making their claim of "no issue" highly suspicious and professionally negligent. Evidence of Neglect: The report confirms that my vehicle has been serviced exclusively by this dealer (Dealer 24014). They have full knowledge of the vehicle’s history, yet they chose to ignore the steering defect and attempted to charge me for a repair that should have been addressed under recall or warranty considerations. Bad-Faith Conduct by General Management: Furthermore, the Dealership General Manager persistently refused to acknowledge these documented defects. He went as far as bringing a technician to confront me, and despite me presenting this official warranty history as evidence, they dismissed it entirely and demanded $2,438 for a steering system replacement. I have photographic evidence documenting this interaction and the demand for payment, which confirms their bad-faith efforts to extort r

The vehicle lurched to a complete stop and engaged the parking brake while entering the on ramp at FDR bridge in NYC. I had my whole family (7 of us) in the vehicle. Cars behind us had to slam on the brakes or swear to not hit us. The worst part is, the car had no option to put it into neutral to move the vehicle to a safe location. I sat praying for 45 minutes while we waited for a tow truck. Cars were flying past us as we were blocking 2 lanes of traffic, one of which was the on ramp. They could not see us as they were coming around a corner. Several accidents almost happened. There was nothing we could do but sit there. This is a known issue with Mazda CX 90 2024 PHEV system. Mazda did not warn me in any way that if the vehicle has an issue with the PHEV system, it was going to disable the vehicle to the point that you are unable to put it into neutral. There was no way to disengage the parking break. The vehicle was towed twice with the break engaged.

Vehicle radiator cracked at 31k miles on the highway leaving myself and my family stranded. My roof has been leaking since I bought the vehicle and Mazda keeps saying they can't replicate the issue and if I can find it they will then fix it. I don't think that's my job. I bought a car that I expected to be able to drive safely without issues. I don't want to play find the issue because I'm not a mechanic or manufacturer. It has been in and out of the shop since purchase in October 2023. Longest period was about 28 days. It's currently in the shop for the radiator and many people are having the same issue. They say I am 3 weeks past warranty but with these items being known issue I don't want to have to pay for them.

I am reporting a persistent and dangerous "sticky steering" defect in my 2024 Mazda CX-90. While driving at various speeds, the steering wheel exhibits sudden, momentary resistance and physical binding, requiring increased manual force to overcome. In several instances, the vehicle veers into other lanes and, if not corrected, would enter into the median/other lanes of traffic. This vehicle has been to the dealership three times for this specific issue and has been out of service for a cumulative total of 36 days. Despite a "repair" attempt by the dealership, the nonconformity persists. The dealership initially attempted to attribute this mechanical binding to the Lane Keep Assist (LKA) system; however, I have personally conducted road tests with the LKA system fully disabled, and the physical "stickiness" remains present. I am aware of NHTSA’s 2026 Recall Query (RQ26) regarding the effectiveness of Mazda’s steering remedies for this model. Even though my vehicle does not fall under the recall for this issue, my vehicle is currently exhibiting the exact failure symptoms that the federal government is investigating as a potential safety risk. The sudden increase in steering effort is unpredictable and poses a significant risk of over-correction or loss of control, especially in highway traffic. During the most recent repair attempt by the dealership, they were unable to duplicate the issue; however, it is very prominent and concerning. There is no warning of when it will occur. If the vehicle veers over the line on either the right or left, the lane keep assist (LKA) will engage to correct the vehicle. In some instances, the resistance is too strong for the LKA to correct the vehicle, and it requires driver correction.

I am reporting a serious safety defect involving unintended acceleration in my 2024 Mazda plug-in hybrid vehicle. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has suddenly accelerated without input from me, creating dangerous situations where I nearly lost control and risked a collision. This issue has occurred at least four times since January 2026. I previously brought the vehicle to an authorized Mazda dealership, where it remained for approximately two weeks; however, they were unable to replicate the problem and returned the vehicle, stating no faults were found. Despite this, the unintended acceleration continues to occur intermittently. I have attempted to follow up with both the dealership and Mazda corporate without receiving a response. This ongoing issue poses a significant safety risk to myself, my passengers, and others on the road.

NOTES FROM SERVICE TO MY CX90 MAZDA FROM HILEY MAZDA OF HUNTSVILLE 256-578-1915 During my last oil change with Maza on Nov. 12, 1pm the dealership noticed my windshield wiper fluid leaking into the radiator. They had to order a new radiator and repair this problem. They gave me a loaner CX90 for a week until a new radiator and parts arrived. On Dec 03 new radiator came in and my Mazda dealership and they replaced the radiator and windshield wiper mechanisms. Now on [XXX] I noticed my coolant reservior was empty while I was filling my windshield washer reservior. I drove my vehicle to the nearest Kelley Car Parts store and they filled the reservior for me and suggested I get the vehicle to Hiley Mazda asap. I called Mazda on Monday March 2 and they said to bring the vehicle in on March 3 at 1pm. They are now keeping my vehicle to find out what the problem is. I believe they never replaced the new radiator properly. I now have been give a CX50 as a loaner while they again try to fix my car. I am [XXX] and should not have to deal with this. A Mazda 2024 CX90 with only 20, 202 miles on it should not be having these issues. I researched and have found out the Mazda CX90s are having major problems with the radiators leaking from the sides and customers have to have their radiators replaced. This problem should not be happening to a vehicle I purchased brand new [XXX]. I believe Mazda should replace my vehicle with a new vehicle. My car is giving me various problems with a gear box(a) and accelerations(b). a. It shift from one gear to another on its own. The gear can be put in Reverse, but the light would indicate Park, and the car would not move. Sometime I put the car into Drive and the Parking Break would come up and wont let me release it until I put the car back into Park mode. I've already had multiple"glitches" like this. Couple of weeks ago, when coming out of a stop sign, the gear shifted from Drive into Neutral in the middle of intersection with 2 minors in the car. b. The car experiences acceleration problems every time it come from a stop. It moves very slow and "jerks" as if it is about to shut down. This problem has gotten getting worse in the last couple of weeks. I brought the car to Mazda dealer last summer, as the gear box would take forever to unlock for driving. They said it is normal and thats just like the car is. I have my 3 children [XXX] and [XXX] ) with me 95% of my driving. I have big concerns about this vehicle and its safety. Component Involved: Front suspension – Lower control arms Braking system (ongoing unresolved brake noise) Description of the Safety Issue: The front lower control arms on my 2024 Mazda CX-90 show visible erosion/corrosion and looseness. The condition was identified during inspection by a national tire service center and documented on video. The component remains on the vehicle and is available for inspection. The dealership has been notified of persistent brake noise during the last five oil change visits, but the concern has not been resolved. Safety Risk: The loose and eroded lower control arms create a significant risk of: •Loss of steering control •Suspension instability •Increased likelihood of component failure •Potential crash risk at highway speeds There were no warning lights related to suspension failure prior to discovery. The defect was identified during independent inspection rather than through vehicle alerts. Confirmation: The condition was observed and documented by an independent service center. The manufacturer has not yet conducted a formal inspection beyond routine service appointments. No crash has occurred to date, but the condition poses a clear safety risk. Additional safety information will be provided once the inspection is complete.

To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this complaint to report serious and ongoing safety concerns regarding my Mazda CX-90. I believe this vehicle presents a significant safety risk to occupants and other drivers on the road. Since the date of purchase, this vehicle has been subject to numerous recalls, repeated software updates, and multiple mechanical issues. The number of recalls alone raises concern about the safety and reliability of this model. In addition, the vehicle has been in service many times, and I have frequently been provided a loaner vehicle due to unresolved problems. On the day of purchase, the vehicle suffered a mechanical failure and had to be towed. While driving in my neighborhood with my children inside, the vehicle suddenly stopped moving and became stuck in reverse. A brand-new vehicle should not experience this type of failure. More recently, I experienced a dangerous steering event on the highway. While traveling in the left lane, the vehicle suddenly swerved into the right lane, then back to the left, and continued oscillating between lanes. The steering felt momentarily out of my control. If surrounding traffic had been heavier, this could have resulted in a serious collision. After inspection, the service department stated that no issue was found and offered no corrective action. Additional safety-related concerns include: The vehicle has unexpectedly stopped driving while in motion on multiple occasions. The steering system behaves unpredictably at times. The hybrid system has malfunctioned repeatedly, the vehicle has overheated and emitted a strong smoke odor. These repeated failures involving steering, powertrain, and hybrid systems raise serious safety concerns.Given the pattern of recalls, ongoing mechanical failures, and the inability of the service to diagnose or correct these issues, I believe this vehicle poses an ongoing safety hazard I respectfully request that NHTSA formally investigate these issues Kim

I have a 2024 MAZD CX-90 Preferred Plus AWD. I was driving my [XXX] grandson to preschool and it sounded as though the passenger's door opened while I was driving. In the split second I looked back to check, unfortunately, I hit a guard rail. My grandson was buckled in his car seat. his first words were "Meme, the door opened but I didn't do it". He was buckled in his car seat and I believe the safety door locks were on. There was no warning sound or light indicating the door was open while I drove. I pulled over, got out of the car and looked. the passenger's back door handle was positioned up but the door was closed. being so shook up, I didn't think to take any pictures. I then had messages on my car saying Dynamic Stability control malfunction - have the vehicle inspected and Engine Malfunction - have the vehicle inspected. I called my dealership to find out if there were any recalls on this type of problem (they said that there weren't any). I have come across a forum where a person states: "So can confirm 1st row passenger door does not provide any warning as well. Looking at the manual, I see that there is supposed to be a warning sound when any door/hood/liftgate is open while driving, as quoted below. If someone else confirms this is normal behaviour, then I think we should file a safety defect complaint with the NHTSA and Transport Canada. “Door-ajar Warning Light/Liftgate-open Warning Light/Hood-open Warning Light The light turns on if any door/liftgate/hood is not closed securely. In addition, the warning sound is activated if any door/trunk lid/liftgate is not closed and the vehicle is driven. Close the door/liftgate/hood securely.” This was a very scary situation. I absolutely will concede that something did happen with this rear passenger door. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am reporting an unresolved safety-related defect with my Mazda CX-90. The vehicle began experiencing repeated malfunctions affecting reliable operation while being driven. The issue was reported to the dealer while the vehicle was still under the manufacturer’s original warranty. The vehicle was taken to a Mazda dealership for diagnosis and repair. The problem has not been resolved, and the vehicle has been held at the dealer for over 30 days. I was provided a manufacturer loaner vehicle because my vehicle has not been deemed reliable to return to service. Mazda North America has escalated the issue and informed the dealer that they are “waiting on Japan” for engineering guidance, indicating there is currently no approved repair or resolution. As of now, no permanent fix has been identified. This defect raises safety concerns because the vehicle’s reliability cannot be assured, and returning the vehicle to service without a confirmed repair could put occupants and others at risk. The extended out-of-service time and lack of an approved repair suggest a potential systemic issue. The vehicle remains available for inspection and is currently in the possession of the Mazda dealer. -

Engine Malfunction have serviced. At least 3 times. One of the 3 (so called) repairs took 3 weeks. They said “Tariffs you know Japan”. When I get this warning my car engine seems to vibrate. Most of the time my car is in the garage. But I have to drive 188 miles on the turnpike to visit my son and come back. This is every 3 months or so. My other son drove to South Texas. So tomorrow I will again have to drive to Edmond Oklahoma and have it repaired again. “Engine Malfunction have services”. I’m so disappointed. My son has a cx-5 and it’s a great car. I’ve been experiencing power loss and surges/RPMs drop for nearly a month now while driving at various speeds. Each time, the iStop indicator comes on. This is a serious safety concern. I am extremely worried that the vehicle could stall, especially while my family is in the car, while driving on a busy highway. Undoubtedly, this issue presents a significant risk to the safety of drivers and passengers. I am requesting your assistance in initiating an official recall from the manufacturer for this component failure. Based on my research, I am not the only one experiencing this grave issue. Many others have reported similar problems on forums like Reddit, which is proof that this is a widespread issue.

Mazda's Driver Personalization System is highly defective and properly recognizes a driver, at best, 40% of the time. Since multiple functions are tied to this system such as seat position, steering wheel position, infotainment presets, and a variety of other vehicle preferences, this not only causes an inconvenience issue but also a safety issue. The safety problem is that one has to stop the car, put it into Park, press through multiple menus and keystrokes just to change the setting to the correct driver.
