Purchased the car in march and filed with local dealership to get the recall repaired for the ignition. 6 months later and the dealership says that GM hasn’t sent the part. It’s needs repaired now. I’m tired of waiting, it shouldn’t take this long to get a recall repaired.

On March 27th, 2023, the car was parked and off for only approximately 5 minutes when the engine caught fire. The engine and vehicle is a complete loss. A claim has been filed with Farm Bureau insurance. There were no engine warning lights, smells, or smoke during or after driving, until the 5 minutes passed when the car was turned off. I did not locate any engine recalls due to fire for a 2007 Grand Prix. I noticed earlier models recalled due to potential fire.

I HAVE SAME PROBLEM AS OTHERS. HAVE BEEN ABLE TO START CAR SOMETIMES BY PUTTING IT IN NEUTRAL. SEVERAL YEARS AGO I LEFT THE CAR WITH OUR SON TO SEE IF HE COULD FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM BECAUSE MY WIFE QUIT DRIVING THE CAR AFTER BEING STRANDED A FEW TIMES. WHEN USING BLINKERS THE HIGH BEAM WOULD COME ON. IT HAS A ROARING SOUND LIKE A WHEEL BEARING GOING OUT.THE KEY FOB DOESN'T WORK. I'VE BEEN TOLD THE BCM BODY CONTROL MODULE COULD BE CAUSING PROBLEMS. HAD ESTIMATE OF $500 TO REPLACE AND PROGRAM NEW BCM.. WE HAVE TOWED CAR HOME AFTER GOING TO STORE. I USED TO DRIVE OTR SO WE GOT A SECOND VEHICLE TO DRIVE. AFTER READING OTHER POSTS ON THIS CAR 4/4/2021 I DON'T THINK I WANT TO PUT MORE MONEY INTO IT. ESPECIALLY WHEN I'VE READ GM TECHS CAN'T FIX THE PROBLEMS.. ONCE THE VACUUM LINE TO BRAKE BOOSTER CAME OFF WHEN MY WIFE WAS GOING DOWN HILL. I PUT THE LINE BACK ON, IT HASN'T DONE THAT AGAIN. WE HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE CAR OUT OF TOWN FOR FEAR OF IT BREAKING DOWN. AND SHOPS NOT BEING ABLE TO TELL US WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT.. I TIED A CABLE ON TRUNK RELEASE SO I CAN OPEN TRUNK. . WE DID LOVE THE CAR WHEN IT WAS RUNNING. HAS 193,000K AT THIS TIME. HAS STALLED/QUIT ON CITY STREETS. AND WE QUIT DRIVING IT ON HIGHWAY.

YOU CAN TURN THE KEY ON AND HAVE COMPLETE POWER INSIDE THE CAR THE DASH EVERYTHING BUT NO POWER TO THE MOTOR. THEN YOU CAN SOMETIMES TURN THE KEY AND THE CAR WILL HAVE THREE TO FIVE SECOND DELAY CRANKING. OR YOU CAN TURN THE KEY OFF AND THERE'S A 3 5 SECOND DELAY IN THE CAR DYING. YOU CAN BE GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE CAR WILL DIE. IT TAKES IT 5 TO 45 MINUTES TO CRANK. MY FRIEND WHO IS AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER FIGURED OUT THE ISSUE AND ADDED A NEW WIRE TO SUPPLY POWER TO THE MOTOR. THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THE KEY IGNITION. I NEED THIS FIXED. I HAVE A TWO-YEAR-OLD GRANDSON AND I DOORDASH. IT HAPPENS CONSTANTLY.
NHTSA complaint #11330898 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
I AM DRIVING DOWN HWY 311 IN HOUMA, LA. I WENT AROUND ANOTHER VEHICLE AND AS MY CAR WENT INTO PASSING GEAR I HEAR A NOISE FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I STOPPED AND PUT GAS IN MY CAR. AS I'M DRIVING DOWN SAVANNE ROAD I HEAR THE NOISE AGAIN. AS I'M DRIVING THE NOISE GETS LOUDER AND WORSE. ON JUNE 10, 2020 THE CAR STARTS GETTING HOT SO I PULL OVER AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. SMOKE STARTS COMING OUT THE HOOD AND WATER IS ALL OVER THE GROUND. CAN'T FIND WHERE THE WATER SPEWED OUT AT OR A CRACK OR ANYTHING. FANS ARE CONSTANTLY NOT WORKING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENS. CAR WOULDN'T START. GET IT STARTED AND IMMEDIATELY WENT STRAIGHT HOME. THE BEARINGS ARE GOING OUT IN THE ENGINE. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN FEBRUARY 2013 AND HAVE HAD PROBLEMS SINCE MARCH 2013. AC GOES OUT. I FIX IT. IT WORKS A WEEK OR 2 AND STOPS AGAIN. ABS LIGHT IS ON BUT A MECHANIC CANNOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON NO MATTER WHAT. THE PIECES ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOORS HAVE FALLEN OFF, ONCE WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I ALWAYS HAVE TROUBLE STARTING IT. CHANGED THE BATTERY 3 TIMES. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT BRIGHT AND THE HOUSINGS FOR THEM ARE HORRIBLE. THE SUNROOF LEAKS INTO THE DOME LIGHT. THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT GETS STUCK DOWN AND I HAVE TO FIGHT WITH IT TO GET IT UP TO BUCKLE IT. THE WHOLE CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED AND ON THE LIST OF WORST CARS NUMBERS 1 THRU 20 WITH OTHERS AFTER. I'M GETTING RID OF THIS CAR AND NEVER BUYING ANOTHER PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT.
