When owners complained
A spike years after the car went on sale usually means a part wearing
out on schedule across the whole fleet — the kind of pattern no single
owner can see from inside their own car.

Recalls on the 2020 Can-Am Ryker
A complaint is one owner's allegation. A recall is the point at which
the manufacturer or a regulator agreed the defect is real and dangerous
enough to fix for free — however old the car is.
Canada — Transport Canada
Canada runs its own recall programme, and its campaigns do not
always mirror the American ones.
Recall 20236741,974 units in Canada
Fuel System
Issue: This recall is for fuel pumps installed on certain vehicles or sold at BRP dealerships as a replacement part for 2019 to 2024 models. This recall affects the following fuel pump part numbers: 709 000 810 548 874 036 709 001 261 219 800 529 On certain vehicles, the fuel pump could fail. If this happens, the engine could stall while driving and you may not be able to restart it. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BRP will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the fuel pump.
Recall 20226056,929 units in Canada
Electrical
Issue: On certain vehicles, the wire harnesses for the lights may be loose in the front fenders. As a result, a wire harness could rub on a tire and cause a short circuit. If this happens, the engine could stall while driving. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BRP will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to affix the wire harnesses under the front fenders.
Recall 2020489896 units in Canada
Wheels
Issue: On certain vehicles, the front wheel nuts and red locking clips may not have been installed correctly during the pre-delivery preparation. As a result, the front wheels could loosen and separate from the vehicle. Safety Risk: A wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle. Corrective Action: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the front wheels installation.
Recall 20204872,282 units in Canada
Wheels
Issue: On certain vehicles, the wheel nuts could crack resulting in a reduced clamping force. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 2020-1 (Transport Canada Recall No. 2019-478). Vehicles repaired under that recall do not need a second repair under this recall. Safety Risk: A cracked wheel nut could affect the vehicle's handling and control, and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Action: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace all three wheel nuts.
Recall 20194781,585 units in Canada
Wheels
This recall was replaced by Transport Canada Recall No. 2020-487. Issue: On certain vehicles, the wheel nuts could crack resulting in a reduced clamping force. While riding the 2020 Can Am Ryker Rally, going into left turns the Ryker will stutter and shake the right front and rear wheel. Feels as tho it is applying the ABS. This only happens on left turns. No issue (yet) doing right turns. Noticed it not long after i purchased the bike back in 2021.

WHEELS
I was driving on the interstate at 65 mph. I felt a bump and realized my right front wheel had fallen off and I was riding on the rotor. I applied brake lightly to come to a stop and noticed the only thing holding the rotor on was the brake pads. If I had not applied the brakes, the rotor would have fallen off, the axle would have dug into the pavement and possibly flipped the bike. I was not able to locate the wheel. The bike is at a dealership and have received a quote for repair. My insurance adjuster will look at it in a couple days. I noticed no warning signs, no shaking of the handle bars, no message from the bike prior to the incident.

STEERING
While driving at speeds around or above 20 mph when turning left the ABS or braking system begins activating causing a very serious hazard. This does not happen at any speeds when turning right. This has been reported by numerous Ryker owners. I have brought it into the shop and they are not able to locate or resolve the issue. This is an extremely dangerous situation as the biker will lose control at high speeds and potential force the driver off road or into another lane. This happens all the time and is constantly happening.

When turning left at roadway speeds whether it a slight or stronger turn, the right front brake grabs add though the abs is kicking on. This makes it sometimes hard to steer and make the corner. 2020 Ryker 600 has wobble on left hand turns. Has been in for service 9 times (currently in at this time). Concern is I am going to loose control and end up in a ditch, off the side of a mountain or hitting another vehicle. Before wobble started bike would throw VSS codes.

STEERING
While riding the bike with my 9 year old son as a passenger we came up on a slow vehicle. Attempted to pass in a passing lane to the left side of the slow car, we were traveling about 50 mph. The both lanes were flat and straight with no rough pavement. I got into the left land and throttled to accelerate. Once slightly ahead of the car I started to turn to the right to complete the overtake and upon pulling the handlebars to initiate the turn it stated hard braking both front wheels like the abs kicked in. I released throttle and kept straight and now the car is beside us again. Throttled into a little to attempt to pass again and the same thing happened again. When attempted to turn right it started locking both front brakes up. This time I noticed vss flashing on dash. I throttled hard this time as the car was now beside us and held on for dear life and once moving straight and not turning it quit the braking / shaking. We pulled off up the road and gathered our thoughts and even the slow car stopped to check on us and thought our wheel was falling off. Only happened those 2 times and thes rest of day was fine. Truly a dangerous situation and if it had been my wife on my bike instead of my 60lb son, i don't think I could've overpowered the jerking of the handlebars and I think we would've wrecked.
