I am concerned about a significant safety issue with my 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV. On at least four separate occasions, the vehicle has unexpectedly applied extremely hard Rear Automatic Braking while I was backing up, despite there being no object, vehicle, person, or obstacle behind the vehicle. The braking is so abrupt and forceful that it feels as though the vehicle has collided with something. Because the driver is typically looking over their shoulder while reversing, the sudden stop causes a violent jolt. This has resulted in neck pain and headaches for me and my son on multiple occasions. One of these incidents also occurred while my son was driving the vehicle. We discussed the event afterward and both experienced the same sudden, aggressive braking with nothing present behind the vehicle. The system appears to be activating falsely. This is a serious safety concern. The unexpected braking could potentially cause injury to the driver or passengers and may also create a hazardous situation if another vehicle is following behind. I am requesting that this issue be investigated and repaired as soon as possible.

The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that a GM inspector had inspected the vehicle due to phantom braking. The contact stated that while her husband was driving approximately 35 MPH, with her daughter in the front passenger’s seat and the contact seated in the rear seat, the brakes independently engaged, and the vehicle came to an abrupt stop. The failure had occurred three times. The contact had undergone cervical spine surgery six months before the failure, and the failure caused the injury to return. The contact's husband reviewed the Owner's Manual and discovered that the vehicle was equipped with the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system and associated the failure with the AEB feature. The manufacturer was notified of the issue, and a GM inspector inspected the vehicle. The vehicle was also taken to a local dealer; however, the dealer was unable to repair the vehicle and suggested that the feature was deactivated.

I am reporting a recurring safety issue with the Forward Collision Alert/Automatic Emergency Braking system on my 2023 Chevrolet Blazer 2LT. The vehicle frequently activates the Forward Collision Alert when there is no vehicle, pedestrian, or other obstruction in front of me. The red collision warning will illuminate and the system will beep even when the roadway is clear. More concerning, on three separate occasions the vehicle has unexpectedly applied the brakes extremely hard while I was driving in traffic despite there being no obstacle or imminent collision. The most recent incident occurred on August 11, 2026. I was making a turn through a busy intersection when the Automatic Emergency Braking system suddenly activated and applied the brakes extremely hard. There was no vehicle, pedestrian, or obstruction in my path that would have required emergency braking. The sudden braking occurred while I was in the intersection and created a serious risk of being struck by surrounding traffic. The braking force was severe enough that my seat belt restrained me very hard and caused an injury to my chest and flew me forward into the steering wheel while also risking the vehicle behind me to almost slam into me. This was not an isolated occurrence. This is the third time the vehicle has unexpectedly applied the brakes hard while I was driving in traffic. In addition to these three braking incidents, I have experienced frequent false Forward Collision Alerts where the red warning and audible alert activate when nothing is in front of the vehicle. I am concerned that the Forward Collision Alert/Automatic Emergency Braking system is malfunctioning and could cause a collision by unexpectedly stopping the vehicle in moving traffic. While driving very slowly, the braking system suddenly activated while leaving a dealer. Additionally, while driving approximately 30 MPH, the braking system erroneously activated, causing the vehicle to abruptly stop. The automatic braking system was turned off, and the vehicle was later driven to the local dealer. The local dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure and advised to deactivate the Collision Avoidance System. The contact sustained a neck injury during the failure while seated in the driver’s side rear seat. Medical attention was required. The failure mileage was 7,000.

The contact stated that the A/C shut off and the windshield defroster failed after the message was displayed. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was not included in the “Special Coverage" for the repair. The thermometer and thermometer sensor are glitching . The engine temp needle will not rise at all, the engine fan will run the whole time driving and then when it is turned off will run for 10 min . Right before this happens a notice shows the guided steering is being limited. I disconnected the battery and it reset , I drove and there were no issues , next time I started my car the engine temp needle stayed down and the van started again. This car has 36k miles on it. I just bought it 2 days before it started happening

Engine temp gauge bottoms out because the thermostat is stuck open, causing the air to stop working. Also a warning that the steering assist is reduced. Eng check light comes on with a code P0208. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Just purchased a used 2025 RS EV on 5/2/2026. When I got home I found out the Google maps and on star app wasn't working. Called on star and they can't connect to the car and that the telematics module is probably bad. Checked my Chevrolet app and it reports that it hasn't connected to the car for over 6 months. Now waiting for replacement part going 3 weeks now. A little pissed off that dealer did find before they sold me the car.
