I am reporting a serious safety incident involving my 2024 Chevrolet Traverse RS AWD, with approximately 34,378 miles. On or about [XXX], while the vehicle was being driven near Sarasota Florida at approximately 25 mph, it suddenly lost propulsion and all electrical power. The instrument panel, displays and vehicle electrical systems went completely dark. The vehicle was completely dead and would not restart. Police subsequently jump-started it, but the vehicle’s systems did not initially operate normally. This vehicle previously experienced another complete electrical-power failure while parked overnight, and the dealership has a record of that incident. Following the in-motion shutdown, the dealership performed a complete software flash using USB and stated that a software problem may have caused a parasitic battery draw. I understand how a parasitic draw could discharge the battery while the vehicle is parked. However, I have not received an adequate explanation of why the vehicle lost all electrical power while the engine was running and the charging system should have been supplying power. I am requesting that General Motors open a formal product-safety case, review the dealership’s diagnostic and programming records, determine the complete cause of the in-motion shutdown, and provide written confirmation of the tests and repairs performed. There is a well known exhaust issue with the catalytic converter and the separating manifold and no recall has been issue yet. It causes the vehicle to lose pressure and shuts off in the middle of traffic. The seat belt secure locks are malfunctioning and could cause loss of life in the event of an accident.

Special coverage programs for the 2018 Chevy Traverse front exhaust pipe mounting bracket failure. GM has focused on coverage specifically on 2019-2021 models, but 2018 models are affected as well. I'm being forced to pay for a new exhaust when 2018 models should have been included for the Specific special coverage (e.g., N212356540, N222385510) exists for 2019–2021 vehicles, offering repairs (sometimes for 15 years or 150,000 miles) when the front mounting bracket breaks.

My engine light came on, so I took it the mechanic. According to the reading it says it was my purge valve, they replaced. After driving 30 miles it came back on. I took it back and they thought it was a defected part so they replaced it again. After 30 miles, it came back on. The mechanic searched online and showed me this issue was for 2019 for a recall. I contacted GM to see if there is a recall for 2018. They said no. At this time the engine lights stays on, but it gives a evap engine light. I can't pass smog due to the issue. The gas tank does not have a cap, it's open. This is how it was when I purchased the vehicle.

I keep having emission problems. The first time I took it to the dealership they fixed then it messed up again had that fixed about three months later check engine light was on again same thing had it fixed for the third time check engine light went off and of course came back home had to fix it again it’s off for now. I’m just waiting for it to pop back on. Second problem that I’ve been having is the fuel pressure sensor changed it light went off now it’s back on. They say change the fuel pump just to see. Did that check engine light back on? When is the check engine light gonna go off another problem that I’ve been having shift to park that pops up every so often at this point, I do not recommend Chevy traverses too many problems and nobody fixing them

I am reporting a dangerous failure of the fuel supply control module in my vehicle, which caused the engine to stall and cut off during acceleration while driving in heavy, 45-60 mph traffic. While I was able to have the issue diagnosed and repaired by Newman’s Auto—with an invoice available—I believe this 44,000-mile vehicle experienced a premature failure. Given that this component is currently recalled on similar Chevrolet SUVs and trucks, I believe this model should be included in the recall. The exhaust system on my 2018 Chevrolet Traverse has failed due to cracking in the exhaust pipe and/or muffler assembly. This appears to be consistent with known issues in similar model years where exhaust pipe brackets separate and cause cracks or holes in the exhaust system. The failure has resulted in excessive exhaust noise and potential exhaust leakage. The dealership has confirmed the issue and recommended repairs costing several thousand dollars but stated my VIN is not included in the existing recall or special coverage. Yes, the vehicle and failed components are available for inspection upon request. The failure of the exhaust system creates a risk of exhaust gases, including carbon monoxide, entering the passenger cabin, which poses a serious health hazard. Additionally, a compromised exhaust system can affect vehicle performance and emissions, and in some cases may increase the risk of fire if hot exhaust gases escape in unintended areas. This issue is especially concerning because it has been identified in other model years of the same vehicle, yet my vehicle is not currently covered, despite experiencing the same failure. This creates an ongoing safety concern for myself, my passengers, and others on the road. The problem been reproduced and confirmed by a certified Chevy dealer.

Failing front exhaust pipe mounting bracket. GM has a special coverage program (N212356540) for 2019-2020 Chevrolet Traverse which covers the repair for 15 years or 150,000 miles from the original service date. The coverage is VIN specific. My vehicle has been having this issue for two years now and my VIN is not covered. This is unfair to the consumer/Chevrolet owners who's VIN's are not listed. This is an obvious ongoing problem for many Chevrolet Traverse owners, it should be an active recall on all 2018-2023 Chevrolet Traverse owners. Especially since Chevrolet/GM is aware of the problem. Most of us are paying off our vehicles because we can't afford a new one and GM is not providing assistance for some of us who at no fault of our own are having to pay for a defect they are aware of.

Approximately four weeks ago on 02/03/2026, during rainy conditions, the brakes on the vehicle did not function properly, creating a serious safety concern. At the same time, a hose connected broke and there was a strong burning smell coming from the vehicle. I also noticed fluid leaking from the vehicle. I immediately took the vehicle to the dealership for repair, and the vehicle remained there for approximately five days for inspection, parts, and repair. Additionally, this is now my third time bringing the vehicle in for service. During previous visits, I asked the service department about the condition of my brakes because they were making a squeaking noise and I was concerned about their performance. I was told by the service department that the brakes were fine, that I still had plenty of brake life remaining, and that the squeaking noise was normal. However, as of March 4, 2026, my vehicle displayed a new warning message stating “Service Brake Pad Monitor – Front Brakes.” This is concerning because the vehicle currently has approximately 25,490 miles. Given the previous brake concerns I reported and the dealership’s response that the brakes were normal, the new warning message raises additional concerns about the safety and reliability of the braking system. Because this defect involves the braking system and creates a safety concern, I am requesting that General Motors review my case under the applicable Lemon Law and advise me on the next steps toward either a vehicle replacement or buyback if the issue cannot be fully resolved.

This has happened two times. Driving down the road between 35-55mph. "Speed limited drive with care" no CEL. Took to dealer, advised with a CEL or no codes nothing they could do for it. Multiple nights I get home and the fan stays running after engine shutdown. Engine overheat within 10 min of drive time. OIL SMELLS LIKE FUEL. This time engine throttles back and nearly caused accident with not being able to merge.

The steering assist becomes reduced while driving and the dashboard displays the warning message “Steering Assist Reduced – Drive with Care.” At the same time, multiple safety systems such as collision-avoidance functions become disabled. This failure is persistent and creates unsafe driving conditions. The vehicle has previously experienced electrical and fuel-system related issues, including fault codes such as P2635, P0E32 and P0E37. There have been multiple warranty repair attempts, but the defect continues. The warning remains active while driving and the vehicle may lose steering assist, causing unpredictable steering effort. This presents a serious safety concern for the driver and public. The vehicle is still under manufacturer warranty. I am requesting review of this recurring safety defect affecting steering assist and active safety systems. While driving, the vehicle repeatedly displays the warning “Steering Assist Reduced – Drive with Care,” and multiple safety systems become disabled, including collision-avoidance functions. The steering effort changes and the vehicle becomes unpredictable. This is a recurring safety-critical defect. The vehicle has also experienced electrical and fuel-system related faults, including codes P2635, P0E32 and P0E37. Warranty repairs have been attempted several times, but the defect continues to occur. This failure places the driver and others at risk because steering assist may be reduced while the vehicle is moving, and safety systems deactivate unexpectedly. The vehicle is still under manufacturer warranty and remains available for inspection. I am requesting review of this recurring safety defect affecting steering assist, electrical stability, and active safety systems.

-The radiator hose malfunctioned and began to leak fluids onto my garage floor for 7 straight days. -My safety as well as others on the road were at risk because at anytime my vehicle could have lost all coolant and overheated. -The problem was confirmed by the service team at my dealership when I dropped it off for diagnosis. -There was absolutely no warning lamps or messages prior to failure. The only symptom was the leaking from under the car on the front driver side. The issues first appeared on Saturday November 29th 2025.
