Vehicle under mandatory recall for defective air bags. Called to get appt. with local dealer Fred Martin Motors. Have failed to call me back to set an appt. The dealer says they are waiting for parts. It has been 3 months. Still waiting. Concerned about safety if my vehicle.

Manufacturer and dealer failed to remediate safety recall after seven weeks under the pretense that the dealer is not authorized to order more than 2 parts every 7 days. But I am not aware of a federal, state, nor county regulation establishing such restriction. The restriction thus seems to be self-imposed and therefore under the control of the manufacturer.

For a few weeks prior our windshield wipers would start and were unable to be switched off. Then would just randomly stop. Then we got completely stopped on a major road during rush-hour with my whole family in the car. The car moved itself to park at a stop light. When we were stopped, everything in the car was going haywire. FCW unavail, ABS unavail, check engine light, wipers going, couldn't use turn signals or hazard lights. I turned the car on/off multiple times to get it to work. We were stuck in the middle of a busy road above a highway with cars exiting during rush hour. Cars moving fast around me with my whole family in the car. Could have caused major accident. Chrysler dealer could not help right away. Took to own mechanic. Recreated issue, replaced Aux Battery (which should NOT have all safety features tied to it), and re-flashed 3 modules that were ruined from this. Thought this was fixed but next time out, same things started happening, but now says to service airbags as well. I will not have my family in the car with an airbag malfunction. Now saying 2-4 thousand to fix, more modules fried and ONLY the beginning. Car has only been inspected by dealer to pull codes, then mechanic. Like I said the windshield wipers were going and couldn't be controlled but no other warning lights. This did not indicate a battery failure and EVERY safety feature to be turned off. This is not designed/wired correctly and I need Chrysler to take action on this situation. My whole family could have been seriously injured and any other Chrysler with this design needs to be fixed or taken off the road.

I am reporting a recall repair failure/delay involving my 2024 Chrysler Pacifica, VIN [XXX]. We received FCA’s recall letter for Important Safety Recall — Side Curtain Airbags, FCA Recall 06D, NHTSA Recall 26V-189. We scheduled a recall appointment with Pedder Chrysler Dodge Ram Jeep of Poway, 13811 Poway Rd, Poway, CA 92064, for XXX at 7:45 AM specifically because of this airbag safety recall. When we arrived, the dealer first said there was no recall, then later realized there had been a VIN-related mistake. They kept the vehicle. At 10:44 AM, the dealer texted that the vehicle was ready for pickup, but did not clearly disclose that the airbag recall remained unrepaired. Only after we called and asked for clarification did they say the airbag recall was not completed because the required airbag parts were unavailable. The repair invoice, RO #XXX, shows the airbag recall as “PARTS ON ORDER.” After pickup, NHTSA still showed 1 unrepaired recall for this VIN, status “Recall Incomplete.” The dealer refused to provide a written explanation documenting the VIN mistake, incomplete airbag recall, or ready-for-pickup communication. I am requesting NHTSA review this recall remedy failure/delay and the dealer’s handling of this safety recall appointment. This keeps the key evidence: the recall letter, invoice, and NHTSA active recall record. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My local dealer, Dan Deery Motors, Waterloo, Iowa, said these airbag repairs are on a waiting list which is now over a year out! Which means I'll be driving with faulty airbags for at least a year! This is simply not acceptable! Is it?

My Chrysler Pacifica is currently held at Glenn Chevrolet in Eminence, KY, for a mandatory side-curtain airbag safety recall. The repair will take at least 4 days or more, and the dealer has zero loaner vehicles. Chrysler corporate refuses to authorize a rental vehicle that safely and legally fits my family of six, capping reimbursement at $50/day. This amount only covers a 5-passenger economy car. Chrysler is creating an unreasonable barrier to a safety recall remedy by forcing me to choose between driving a defective, dangerous vehicle or illegally driving a rental car without enough seatbelts for my children. Frontline call center staff have repeatedly disconnected my calls when I have tried to resolve this size restriction.

We purchased a 2025 Chrysler Pacifica in September 2025. In October, 2025 we begin to receive Urgent Safety Recall notifications regaring Driver Side Curtain Air Bag. My husband went to the dealer where we purchased van and was told we would have to be on a waiting list and we were number 20 on her list. The dealer has never contacted us about scheduling a repair on the Driver Side Curtain Air Bag. We have made 3 trips to the dealer and have been told the same story...we are 20th on her list. The Recall clearly states that because of this defect, "occupant could be ejected during a crash." To us, that seems critical to have repaired. Chrysler evidently doesn't think so putting us at great risk in case we were in a accident. Stated in their Recall: "We are sincerely concerned about your safety and reiterating scheduling a repair". After two calls to the Customer Service at the company and 3 trips to the dealer, we are no closer to having this repair schedule. I thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide in helping us expedite this repair.

Side curtain airbags (CAB) for both sides are under recall dated Mar 2026, Recall 06D (NHTSA 25V189) and prior to that Recall 06C (NHTSA 25V302) dated May 2025, Dealer says that parts are on back order and I am on a "list" - It has been two months for 06D and over 6 months for 06D and I am still waiting. I have called FCA Recall Assistance, Chrysler Cares and the Dealer every 3 weeks and still no word on when parts will be available. Dealer is not able to "schedule" the repair nor estimate approximate date the parts will be available for my repair. Due to safety concerns of this Urgent Safety Recall, I do not feel comfortable using the vehicle to transport myself or my family and the manufacturer has sent me notices regarding the recall and "claims" the parts are available on their recall information website - I beg to differ since I have not been able to get anyone give me a time frame for repair of this safety recall... Action (lack of) from the manufacturer is not acceptable. I have notified my Family Attorney of all the contact notes (dealer, manufacturer, NTHSA) and mailings from the manufacturer, regarding this recall in the event something occurs related to the CAB's before the repair can be completed.

I own a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica with open safety recall FCA 06D / NHTSA 26V-189 for side curtain airbags/ejection mitigation. I contacted the dealer approximately two months ago to schedule the free recall repair. The dealer advised there is a parts delay and the repair is still approximately two more months out. I checked for earlier repair options and was told no dealer can complete it sooner due to parts availability. This is a family vehicle used to transport children, and the recall involves side curtain airbags that may not retain sufficient pressure during deployment, increasing risk of injury or ejection. I am requesting NHTSA review because the manufacturer appears unable to provide the safety recall remedy in a timely manner. I am also seeking guidance on whether the vehicle is safe to continue driving and whether alternate transportation should be provided while waiting.

I am writing to formally express my concern and frustration regarding the unresolved recall on my vehicle. It has now been over a year since the recall was issued, and my point of purchase dealer still has not received the necessary parts to complete the repair. This extended delay has moved beyond inconvenience and has become a genuine safety issue. I rely on my vehicle daily, and continuing to drive it under an open recall, especially one involving safety components is unacceptable. I have been patient for more than a year, but the lack of progress and communication has left me with serious concerns. I expect prompt attention to this matter and a concrete plan to resolve the recall as soon as possible.
