Three times the back hatch has opened on its own within minutes after parking it, and car off.Last time I feared I was going to be crushed against garage door. The hatch continues to open even after hitting me. Last time was very hard to stop it. I no longer walk behind the van if garage door has been closed.

Over a year ago I noticed several paint bubbles along the front edge of the hood above the grille. This is widely reported issue with the 2017–2020 Chrysler Pacifica. I brought the vehicle to a dealer in Cleveland, Ohio for an estimate in February 2025 and requested that a warranty/goodwill claim be submitted to Stellantis/Chrysler. Since then, I've followed up several times by phone but haven't received any updates. Unfortunately, the paint issue has continued to worsen. Could you please let me know if you're able to assist with this matter? Thank you!

2023 Chrysler Pacifica Columbia, MS

STRUCTURE:INTERIOR PANELS:SUN VISOR

The driver’s side sun visor broke off and was hanging by the electrical wires in front of my face while I was driving. It hampered my ability to see the road ahead. The dealer observed the situation and ordered a new sun visor which I had to pay for. The part has been on back order for several months now. In the meantime, I have to drive without a sun visor. The initial occurrence was hazardous since I was not able to see where I was going for the first few seconds.

There is bubbling all along the hood of the van and now it is chipping. We inquired about this when we were getting oil changes at the dealer and no one said anything. I have a friend who said hers was recalled but I never received anything. We inquired a couple times and was brushed off. I now know that there was a recall and that this is a known defect. I only have 43k miles on this van it’s always I. A garage and I would like mine fixed since this is a well known defect.

2017 Chrysler Pacifica Seattle, WA 1 injured

STRUCTURE:BODY

Description of Incident: On February 15, 2026, my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid experienced three distinct and severe safety system failures involving the electrical system, power seats, and the power sliding door. Power Sliding Door Sensor Failure: While my minor son was entering the vehicle, the power sliding door closed on his leg. The pinch sensor failed to detect the obstruction and did not reverse. This resulted in physical bruising and marks on the limb (photographic evidence maintained). Unintended Passenger Seat Motion: While the vehicle was stationary, the front passenger power seat moved forward to its maximum limit without user input. I was seated in the chair at the time and was pinned against the dashboard before I could intervene. Electrical Shock: My minor daughter received a perceptible electric shock upon touching the exterior door-handle button to open the sliding door. Components Involved: Electrical System Seats (Power) Sliding Door (Power) Injuries: Yes (Soft tissue bruising/marks to minor’s leg). Risk to Safety: Had the driver's seat moved forward without input while the vehicle was in motion, this absolutely could result in loss of control of the vehicle and an accident. Had the sliding side door continued to close on my son's leg, it could have caused severe injury. Had the electrical shock been worse, it could have resulted in burn or injury. The vehicle is available for inspection. It has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. The issues have not repeated at this point, although the vehicle was not used the last 12 days. I do not have confidence in its electrical components. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other indications of any problem with the vehicle.

NHTSA complaint #11720695 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2024 Chrysler Pacifica Sauquoit, NY

STRUCTURE:BODY

Rear sliding doors have an electrical issue that can cause a warning that the door is open to be displayed on the drivers information screen while the vehicle is in gear, and being driven. After a moment you will hear a relay click, the error message goes away, and after a while the error message shows up again this repeats in cycles. Attempts to disable the sliding door system for safety removing fuses do not work the system will continue to indicate that the door is open even when it has been closed manually. I just had the vehicle serviced at Nye Dodge in Oneida, New York so they have better information on what caused the issue, and the fix they can be reached at (315) 277-8955 for information on the issue. The issue I would like to bring to light is that in the event of a defect it is impossible to fully disable the sliding door, and it's sensors I have attempted to pull fuses to shut the system down, and can't find anyway to totally isolate the effected door for safety. I have been reassured the door will not open however I will not be using this vehicle to transport my children until this issue is corrected. You should be able to turn the system off in the event of a failure with one of the sliding doors.

2017 Chrysler Pacifica Minivan Right passenger door fell off and out at the back when my wife was opening the door manually in NJ 20 degree temp - - almost injuring my wife. The back end corner of the door fell to the ground when both the top support and middle support came completely out of their tracks. The door is still attached front bottom. The door is very heavy and could have cause severe injury if rear corner landed on a foot or a child. It also shattered the glass corner and track behind the door throwing shards of broken sharp pieces over the floor as shown in pics.

NHTSA complaint #11712003 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hockessin, DE

STRUCTURE:BODY

I own a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica (VIN: [XXX] ) with approximately 60,000 miles. In October 2024, corrosion began appearing on the sliding doors. Despite proper care (garage kept, washed and waxed monthly), the bubbling and corrosion worsened significantly over 11 months. Photos are timestamped and show clear progression. Two independent body shops confirmed this is premature aluminum corrosion and suggested I request goodwill coverage. On September 8, 2025, I brought the vehicle to Preston Jeep of Newark, DE, only 19 days after my factory warranty expired. Chrysler offered 58% coverage, but this defect appeared long before warranty expiration and is now more widespread than a single door. I am filing this complaint because I believe this represents a broader defect affecting Chrysler Pacifica vehicles. NHTSA has issued service alerts on aluminum corrosion for Chrysler body panels, which supports that this is not an isolated incident. This corrosion threatens the durability of the doors and could compromise safety if left untreated. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2021 Chrysler Pacifica Cedar Falls, IA

STRUCTURE:BODY

The passenger sliding door on my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is stuck half way open and will not move. The vehicle was parked and we opened the automatic door and it opened fine. I pushed the close button and it closed half way and stopped. The cables that connect the door to the open/close motor are hanging out. I called the Chrysler dealership and they tried to schedule me an appointment next week. I asked how to get it to the dealership and they said to drive it in. I said the door is stuck half way open and its not safe. They said to either drive it in or tow it in. I asked if there was a recall or an extended warranty. They said there was not and that I would have to pay for all repairs out of pocket. The motor actuates but since the cables don't move it faults out. I have pushed and pulled as hard as I can and the cables will not move. This puts all passengers in danger as the door is part of the structural integrity especially in a side impact collision.

The vehicle was purchased on 1/8/2025. On 1/13/2025, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealer because the transmission wouldn't shift to park. Dealer performed a software update to correct the issue. On 1/21/2025, the vehicle had to be towed to a dealer because the transmission wouldn't shift to park. Dealer replaced the gear selector. On 1/27/2025, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealer because it wouldn't shift to park. Dealer stated the battery failed. On 3/13/2025, the vehicle was taken to a dealer because the rear hatch opened on its own while driving and wouldn't close. Transmissions that won't shift to park present a serious roll away hazard that could injure or kill a person.

Dear Sir, I am submitting this formal complaint regarding severe misconduct, fraud, and reckless endangerment committed by Hyundai Escondido, Hyundai Motor America, and Ally Financial in connection with the sale and financing of a dangerously defective 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Touring AWD (VIN: [XXX] ). 1. Background of the Case On [XXX] I purchased the above-referenced vehicle from Hyundai Escondido under the representation that it was a Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle that had passed rigorous manufacturer standards. The dealership provided me with a Carfax report showing no prior accidents or major repairs and falsely assured me that the car was in excellent condition. However, immediately after purchase, I discovered that the vehicle had severe hidden defects, including: •Extensive flood damage, which was concealed at the time of sale and significantly compromised the car’s electrical and safety systems. •Prior frame and structural damage from an accident that was never disclosed. •Critical electrical malfunctions causing the vehicle to swerve uncontrollably on its own, without any driver input. •Severe safety risks, which nearly resulted in an accident with another vehicle carrying a baby on board. •Substantial mechanical and structural issues requiring over $20,000 in repairs, making the car unsafe and unusable. Despite reporting these issues on the first day of ownership, Hyundai Escondido refused to acknowledge or rectify the matter. 2. Hyundai Escondido’s Role in Fraud and Misrepresentation •Knowingly sold a flood-damaged and structurally compromised vehicle without disclosure. •Misrepresented the vehicle as a Certified Pre owned. While driving the vehicle on a highway - a hard solid piece of the exterior literally separated from the vehicle and flew off. This incident gave rise to the risk of an accident or injury to those traveling behind or to others traveling on the highway. A flying projectile is an inherent safety risk. No external force or event caused this. Vehicle literally fell apart on its own. Some kind of defective attachment process or mechanism. Vehicle was purchased new.
