RDU CLUTCH FAILURE Vehicle shutter at low speeds and during deceleration. Issue diagnosed after I had the vehicle inspected by ford dealership Ford TSB for this issue is 26-2328. I believe recall 21S02 should have been expanded to include more. My car was not manufactured during the dates listed for that recall. Ford parts have now switched manufacturers for the RDU CLUTCH which is now on back order. I suspect this issue may be related to the large amounts of PCM software issues ford has had with these vehicles and I believe this RDU failure was from faulty parts. No warning lights

I was in another town and my car kept stalling. I was going across traffic and it stalled and almost caused an accident. When I was in a parking lot my car would not go in reverse. I had to be pushed out of the parking space. I have already went to the have this recall fixed once. I know the part is not available but I should not have to keep going every few months to keep getting this done on a vehicle that I am paying on. It is not reliable and I could have caused an accident.

The first incident was the car shifting to park while I was trying to reverse it said “system shift fault” I called ford they told me that since it wasnt coming back on I was okay to drive it hadn’t come back on so I didn’t get the diagnostic done due to not having a vehicle to use while it was being done. The second one I parked and again went to reverse and what popped up was “gear selected will engage at low speed” but as soon as I turned my car off and back on the vehicle was able to reverse and drive normally.

I have 130,000 miles on my 2021 Ford Bronco sport. With no warning I'm unable to put vehicle in gear. I attempt to put the car into drive, then reverse and it will not go. The gear gets stuck in park, but unable to park, The car instructs me to intiated emergency park with many warning lights appearing. when driving it jerks , make grinding noises, and I even lost momentum. Ford said the help line states they have attempted to fix the codes and replace the parts on the inside of the transmission and no luck. Ford recommends a new transmission. I believe the 2021 Bronco sport have a faulty transmission and replacing with another will result with the same issue due to the transmission being a close system it isn't preventable. Many other owners have experienced this very same safety issue and Ford should address ot and be responsible.

In January of 2026, I took my 2021 Ford bronco sport Outer Banks to the dealership because my car had a wrench light come on and it went into limp mode. Supposedly it was fixed and now it is April 2026 and my car went into limp mode again, it would not shift in the park and would not start and now the dealership is telling me that there’s transmission issues but from what I’ve read, there is clearly been a lot of transmission issues in these vehicles.

Grinding noises started to occur coming from the back of my vehicle. This only occurs when turning the wheel and driving slowly. I took my vehicle to Ford to get it checked out and they stated that my rear axle differential needed to be replaced. I asked why does this need to be replaced as I have not been in any accidents. They told me that it was due to wear and tear on the vehicle. The car has just hit over 80k miles and no accidents, I have taken great care of this vehicle and get it serviced regularly. I have done some research on this issue with other Bronco owners and it seems like it is a VERY common thing. There are many complaints on Reddit on the same exact issue with their Ford Bronco Sports. Would love for this to be a recall as I do not want my vehicle to just stop out of nowhere on the highway as I was told this is a VERY serious situation that needs to be taken care of immediately, I do not have $2k to get this fixed, with taking care of this vehicle regularly there is no way that this is on my driving or just regular wear and tear. This should be taken care of by Ford as a recall so none of us Bronco Sport owners get hurt or get screwed out of money for an issue that we did not cause.

I chose the engine and fuel questions as I believe these would be the issue. While driving on the I 10 east towards [XXX] there are areas on the freeway that you drive upward from a flat freeway service to (up hill). Today 04/22/2026, my bronco sport lost drive power from 65 mph to 45 mph which caused the warning lights of the engine and wrench notifications to come on. It was a little difficult and scary but I was able to get off the freeway safely and park. I looked under the hood and under the car for leaks but there were non found and after about 30 minuets, I got back on the freeway and went back home. Back in July of 2025, I believe their was a recall for the fuel injector system and I think this issue of today is based on that recall. I have not been able to confirm with Ford if this has anything to do with the 2025 recall and I have not seen any repair options. I have however, seen other's reporting the same issue. I don't know if you can doing anything but I wanted to provide my experience of today. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Clarks Summit, PA Crash

This vehicle is subject to NHTSA Recall 25V467 involving potential fuel injector cracking and risk of fuel leaking onto the engine, creating a fire hazard. The recall status shows “Remedy Not Yet Available,” leaving the defect unresolved. While driving, the vehicle suddenly displayed an engine overheating warning and immediately entered limp mode, causing abrupt loss of power. The vehicle decelerated unexpectedly and was not able to maintain normal driving speed. This created a dangerous situation in active traffic and required a safety tow. The sudden power reduction could have resulted in a rear-end collision or loss of vehicle control. There were no prior overheating warnings immediately before this incident. The failure occurred abruptly. A warning message appeared at the time of the event, followed by limp mode activation. The vehicle had to be towed to a dealership for inspection. Given that the open recall involves fuel injector cracking and potential fuel accumulation near hot engine components, there is concern that the unresolved recall condition may be related to engine overheating and loss of power. The vehicle remains under an active fire-risk recall, yet no repair remedy is available. Owners are left operating vehicles with a known safety defect and no corrective action timeline. The defect has not been remedied because parts are not available. The vehicle was inspected by a dealership after the overheating event. The primary safety concern is the combination of an open fire-risk recall and a sudden overheating/limp mode event causing abrupt power loss in traffic, creating a serious risk of injury. Due to this open recall with no available remedy, the vehicle cannot be listed or rented on a peer-to-peer vehicle sharing platform, resulting in loss of legitimate income. The vehicle was previously eligible for use, but is now restricted solely because the safety recall remains unresolved without a repair solution. Owners are financially impacted.

My Check Engine Light came on today. I went to Advance Auto Parts and had them check the code (P0171). I took my vehicle to University Ford in Huntington and expressed concern that my fuel injector may cause a fire and I am not comfortable driving the car. They could not diagnose my car or loan me a safe vehicle. They sent me away in an unsafe vehicle. I am to bring the car back in the morning at 8am. I believe this problem is due to the open recall. I also believe all of the damaged parts that my car came with have depreciated the value of my car. I’ve driven Fords exclusively for 20 years. I’ve never had a Ford like this Bronco. Nothing but a nightmare. Tomorrow I hope the dealership fixes my problem or loans me a safe vehicle to pick my grandsons up from school in. Thank you.

While driving my 2021 Ford Bronco Sport, I experienced a strong chemical/fume smell entering the cabin, which caused headache and nausea. I later found that the battery installed in the vehicle had vent holes with visible liquid residue indicating leakage. I did not authorize or install this battery — it appears the battery was changed without my knowledge while the vehicle was in a lender’s possession. This created a serious safety concern because the fumes entered the HVAC system and the vehicle became unsafe to operate. I had the vehicle towed to two separate Ford dealerships. Both refused to inspect the HVAC system or provide a proper safety diagnosis. One dealer admitted the battery had “traces of leaking fluid,” but no diagnostic inspection was performed, and they attempted to close the repair order without documenting the safety concern. I was forced to replace the battery out of pocket just to safely drive the vehicle, but the original leaking battery and the exposure incident should still be investigated. My safety was put at risk, and the dealerships refused proper inspection or remediation.

I took my vehicle into my local ford dealership to get three active recalls remedied. Within 24 hours, my check engine light reappeared as well as "service engine soon" on my way into work. Upon leaving work, the dash lights were gone. They would come and go periodically. After about a week, it would pop up "service engine soon" and within ten minutes, regardless of speed, the RPMs would fly all the way up and the vehicle would act as if I took my foot off of the gas, almost immediately stopping on the highway. I would have to almost immediately pull off of the road and my vehicle would stall, flashing "shift system failure" as well as failing to let me put the vehicle into park or any other gear. Taking it into the shop, they told me that was due to a software bug WHICH THEY JUST "FIXED" with a recall update. They also proceeded to tell me there is metal debris in my oil and I need my transmission rebuilt, quoting me $13,000.

I am reporting a serious and recurring issue with the catalytic converter on my 2021 Ford Bronco Sport (1.5L EcoBoost), which has resulted in reduced efficiency and partial blockage, causing exhaust gases to enter the cabin and triggering engine code P0171. My safety and the safety of others have been compromised because exhaust fumes, including carbon monoxide, have entered the cabin, which is particularly dangerous as I am currently pregnant. In addition, the engine experiences RPM fluctuations and revs up on its own, sometimes hesitating during acceleration, creating a risk of loss of control or accidents, and reduced engine efficiency contributes to unpredictable vehicle behavior. The problem has been confirmed by a dealership, which diagnosed the catalytic converter inefficiency and provided a $2,000 replacement quote. This issue has been widely reported among other 2021 Bronco Sport owners, indicating a recurring problem. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership, which ran diagnostics and verified the codes. Prior to the failure, the Check Engine Light illuminated, and I experienced exhaust fumes in the cabin, unusual odors, reduced engine performance, and RPM surges with hesitation during acceleration, first appearing around 80,000. This defect poses not only a serious safety hazard, but also environmental concerns, as the failing catalytic converter increases emissions of harmful gases, including carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides, contributing to air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. I respectfully request that this issue be formally investigated by Ford and NHTSA for a possible recall, that consideration be given to goodwill or warranty coverage for affected vehicles, that guidance be provided for the safe operation of vehicles exhibiting this defect, particularly for pregnant passengers or others at risk, and that the environmental impact of this defect be considered during the investigation.
