BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING
Cam phasers make engine rattle at startup and idle. A recall has been put out but the dealer did not get the issue fix and sold it anyway. Also rear sensors don't work right.

LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
I had a problem that would cause my transmission to randomly downshift or slip into neutral while in drive. When this happened it would also disengage cruise controll and would disengage the blind spot monitoring system.Took it to the dealership and they confirmed it was a faulty molded lead frame. I had them replace the part. But was doing research and saw where they have had similar recalls on previous years.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
While I was driving on the highway at 70 miles an hour with adaptive cruise control on the transmission unexpectedly down shifted gears causing me to almost crash. Once I got off the highway at a stop light the truck wouldn’t shift into first gear for ten minutes. Once it finally was able to shift gears I barely made it to my destination and the truck would not shift into reverse. Now it won’t go over 30 miles an hour because it’s unable to shift to the higher gears. My family was in the truck at the time and fortunately no one was hurt but it was too close of a call. I have the truck at a local ford dealer now and they are looking at it now but said it could cost be 6k which I cannot afford to pay. I don’t know what I am going to do. I don’t have a vehicle to drive and now I am stuck without a vehicle to drive my family around.

LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
While driving, the rear window opened up by itself and would not close. Controls were dead. Found a wire bundle (not a harness) which runs from the body control module to several sensors, including the 110V power converter, were worn through shorting out. The wiring lies in a channel along the rocker panel on the interior of the vehicle. The wiring is not protected from abrasion which led to the abrasion of the wires shorting out. Since 110V is running along this same channel, the potential for a fire is high, plus shorting 110V AC with 12V DC.

My advanced track warning light comes on then all the lights on the dash and start going off one warning after the other. (Low oil, limited breaking, tire pressure, etc.) Then all electrical components in the vehicle turns off while driving. Its been serviced by the dealer which they replaced the break booster sensor. About 2-3 weeks later, it started happening again only this time when i drive the breaks lock up now and grind to the addition of everything lighting up the dash and all electrical components turn off while driving. Dealer charger me $900 for first repair now they’re charging me $2500 to start for the APIM replacement. They are not clear on issue. They stated well start with apim and go from there.

LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
AIRBAG WARNING FAILURE A know issue with Ford F-150 and other products with the Blind Spot senor module in the rear tail lights. The vehicle has an issue with water or fluid leaking into the tail light housing causing many of the advanced features to stop working. The vehicle shows a Blind Spot Sensor Failure, Cross Traffic Sensor Failure, Front Windows will not operate, Air Conditioner stops working , Radio works but nothing can be changed and worst of all the "The Air Bag Failure Warning Light" comes on rendering the vehicle unsafe for roadway operations. The Internet (You Tube and other sites )document the failure and how to fix it. It is not confined to just My 2017 F-150 but plagues many other year and model ford products. My truck is currently at Bluebonnet Motors the Authorized and Sales Dealer for this Truck, they have confirmed the issue and are awaiting parts to repair it. They have quoted about $1,850 for parts and labor. [XXX] the service writer and myself witnessed these failures in the service reception area while checking the truck in for service. This problem puts many people at risk (including myself) if they are unaware of the entire system failures. Should a crash occur the occupants may not be provided with air bag deployment , which could result in possible injuries or death. I have not been made aware of Ford Motor Company or the dealership acknowledging this serious safety concern. Symptoms of clock spring failure in steering wheel (buttons only working on half of steering wheel, horn not working). There are recalls for this same issue on other model fords where at appears the airbag may be implicated. There is no recall for this on my model year, and ford could not provide insight as to whether my airbag was also implicated

DOOR LATCHES REPEATEDLY FREEZE DURING COLD WEATHER DESPITE HAVING BEEN IN FOR REPAIR SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THE TRUCK WAS NEW, INCLUDING A SERVICE CAMPAIGN DESIGNED TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. THE DOOR LATCHES WILL EITHER FREEZE WHILE THE DOOR IS SHUT, PREVENTING THEM FROM OPENING, OR WILL FREEZE AFTER THE DOOR HAS BEEN OPENED, WHICH PREVENTS THEM FROM SECURELY LATCHING WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO CLOSE THEM. THIS PAST SATURDAY THE DOOR OPENED WHILE I WAS MOVING THE TRUCK IN THE DRIVEWAY, RESULTING IN ME FALLING PART-WAY OUT OF THE TRUCK WHILE IT WAS MOVING. THEY AGAIN FROZE THAT EVENING, CREATING A SITUATION WHERE I HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED WITH MY LEFT ARM.
