BACK OVER PREVENTION
The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-250 SD. The contact had experienced several electrical failures with the vehicle and the vehicle had been back to the dealer for repairs for more than 70 days. The contact stated that the instrument cluster failed to properly illuminate, and it was difficult to see the information on the instrument cluster. The contact also stated that the front passenger’s side window failed to roll up in one motion. The contact stated that the window would stop halfway up and had to be rolled back down first and then another attempt had to be made to roll the window up for the window to operate as needed. Additionally, the back over prevention and trailer park assists system functions failed to operate as needed. The contact also stated that the back over prevention software failure of the TPASIN module caused the screen to intermittently display a distorted image, a blue screen, or displayed a solid black screen. The contact also stated that the powertrain axle assembly shaft was improperly heat treated during the manufacturing process. Additionally, the vehicle experienced failures with steering column, and the tailgate release function occasionally failed to operate as needed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer on several occasions and remained with dealer often, for two to three weeks each time. The contact stated that the dealer attempted to assess a diagnostic fee even though the failure was a known failure with the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure on several occasions however, the contact stated that the manufacturer failed to acknowledge the failures or take the vehicle back from when the vehicle was first purchased new. The approximate failure mileage was 500.

The first time I drove the truck was in stop-and-go traffic. I was behind a semi-truck that was slow rolling in traffic at four miles an hour with a forty-foot gap. I never felt as if the brakes should need to be applied. My new truck began slamming on the brakes for no reason, bringing me to a complete stop. This continued for several miles this was and is very dangerous the car behind me almost rear-ended me every time this happened. I have turned this option off this should be removed from vehicles until it is perfected.

Front emergency break assistance over sensitive. Have had multiple occasions where the vehicle has locked up in a turn at a busy intersection. It has locked up only while turning left 3 times in intersections and now is doing it in fast food drive through 2 times. I now have it shut off for ky safety. Since the last time I was almost t-boned. Have not been able to bring to dealer yet.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The instrument panel cluster has failed. You can not see how fast you are going, none of the dash is lit up. You are unable to determine if there are any issues going on with the vehicle. The adaptive cruise control and emergency braking system is not working properly. The battery will also not hold a charge. Our safety is at risk as we don't know what is going on with the fuctions of the truck or if it will start. Yes, ford has confirm this problem and issued a recall. The dealership has inspected the vehicle. There were no warnings of the problem before it occurred. The instrument panel and other functions of the vehicle just stopped working. We are in contact regularly with the dealership and Ford. Initially they placed us in a long term rental since the current Truck is not driveable however, they are wanting to terminate that rental and not provided us with the needed vehicle. Currently, there is not a part to fix this issue. This was a vehicle that was purchased brand new and within 6 weeks we experienced this electronic failure. We need Ford to step up and provide a Ford F250 as we purchased until this is fixed.
