Driving on highway, approximately 65mph when all of a sudden the "door ajar" symbol on instrument panel lit / sound dinged, and the passenger who had their elbow on the door screamed. The passenger side door unlocked and "opened" as in it unlatched. It did not open all the way for her to fall out, but it was no longer fully closed. This is a 2022 vehicle. This happened for the first time in 2026 after 34k miles. There is an active recall for the same make / model but for some reason my VIN is not included. I'm pretty sure it should be after this experience.

I received the 2022 Hybrid Ford Maverck XLT on March 2023, and had first 12V battery replacement on August 2023 as it was dysfunctional leading to car stalling. On 01/11/2026, the truck suddenly got stalled during drive due to the dysfunction (8.0V) again of the 12V battery, which triggered several error codes. The 12V battery was replaced again on 01/12/2026. I drove the truck home and found later that system alert with "Electrical Power Saver Active". The truck stalled again on 01/13/2026 at traffic light near school zone. The police had the truck towed to Tire Express per SOP. The truck was then diagnosed at local Ford dealer as: "multiple accessory / entertainment modules have software level that may be contributing to 12V battery drain / degredation". Obviously, this is the truck defect can may pose catastrophic risk to driver and surrounding drivers. I searched Google and found more 2022 Maverick with such serious issue! My total cost of repair and towing from this defect is $1145.11. Thank God that my family was safe during the sudden stalling while driving. I know there is no such recall but Ford should be responsible for the recall to avoid future risks and paying off my cost. Please consider this as a recall! Thank you!!!

The 2022 Ford Maverick repeatedly experiences complete electrical system failures, including engine shutdown, loss of power steering, brakes, and the electronic parking brake, while driving at highway speeds, resulting in total loss of vehicle control and creating a life-threatening situation for the driver, passengers, and others on the road; prior warning signs included the 12-volt battery not staying charged and intermittent total electrical power loss, and while no warning lamps indicated imminent failure, the issue was reproduced and documented by a dealership that replaced the battery, performed a BCM relearn, and applied a software update, yet the problem persisted, leaving the vehicle undriveable and unsafe, requiring repeated jump-starts, and demonstrating a fundamental defect in the electrical and control systems; the vehicle is currently scheduled for further warranty diagnostics at a second dealership, and because prior warranty repairs failed to correct this repeat, safety-critical, and life-threatening defect, I request immediate manufacturer investigation, full warranty coverage, and evaluation for vehicle replacement under applicable Lemon Law or consumer protection remedies, as the repeated failure places lives at risk and the vehicle cannot be safely operated until fully corrected.

While driving around 50MPH my vehicle started to lose engine power going down to 40, then 30, then 20MPH. I had to pull into a break down lane and at the next exit I managed to make it to a Ford Dealership called Flood Ford in Narragansett, R. I. This may be related to NHTSA safety recall number: 24S24 from May 2024. This happened yesterday [XXX] around [XXX]. This is the 2nd time it has happened as it happened another time on [XXX] in North Carolina and it ended up at Huntersville Ford. The dealership in Rhode Island won’t be able to put a diagnostic tool on my truck until Monday August 25th so I’ll be without a car for 6 days. Windshield cracks. First happened in 2024, nothing hitting the windshield, it cracked. The crack spread and required an entire new windshield that was not covered by any warranty. July 2025 same issue, same area where the crack started last time, on the new windshield. I am concerned about the quality of the windshields installed on Ford Mavericks. One dealership said “the Maverick windshields are known to be incredibly thin and crack”

Water leak/intrusion into cabin Hybrid back from the dealer for a water leak. As a recap, only a few weeks old bought it used and discovered a pool of water under the floor liners I put in Water leaking in through HVAC Box, down past the BCM and onto the passenger floorboard. Lower Cowl seal for the cabin air intake defective. Removed engine bay cowls to access defective part. Damaged seal caused water leak and is apart of the lower cabin air intake cover.

Front axle has had to be repaired twice once under warranty and the second time with an out of pocket cost of $1172. The same issue has been reported numerous times by Maverick owners. This cost should not be out out pocket, Ford needs to issue a recall and I should be reimbursed.

Transmission sensors/Software. My wife stopped at a intersection, light turned green and she went to proceed, the truck went in reverse instead of forward! She stopped it before it hit another car. This is the second time this truck has gone behaved in a dangerous way. Last time it lurched forward almost hitting a car, and then the car went into a safety mode (they 'fixed' that in a previous recall). It seems like another sensor/software malfunction

Vehicle enters "Deep Sleep" mode NEARY EVERY DAY and all 12 volt systems such as lighting are not useable. Vehicle will NOT START sometimes when Deep Sleep mode occurs. No matter how much we charge the 12v battery, this deep sleep issue will return within 1 day. Dealer has not fixed this issue after "supposedly" checking it out on a few visits to Livermore Ford Dealership. It has now been over 2 1/2 years of this problem with no fix.

I reported an odor coming from my vehicle and took it to the Ford dealership to get checked. Nothing was found by the dealer. I continued to notice a strong odor. Recently, when cleaning my car, I removed the floor mat and found a puddle of water underneath. I removed a small panel in the dash and could see water leaking when I ran climate control. It was leaking all over multiple electrical components so I have been hesitant to drive. The water will not dry or drain and has begun to mold.

I have a 22 hybrid maverick with ~ 27,000. I was driving back home from out of town and I had already driven for a good two and a half hours. I was passing an 18 wheeler when suddenly my whole truck turned off. The dash, infotainment screen all black. I tried to turn on the hazards but nothing came on. The steering wheel was stiff and I was pressing the brakes as hard as I could but we were barely slowing down. I coasted across the right lane and into the shoulder/grass and finally came to a stop. I turned the truck off and on and a whole bunch of warnings and lights popped up. I turned it off again and when I turned it back on it was like everything was back to normal. I drove the rest of the way home ~ 50 mph. The truck felt awkward when switching from gas to electric and shook a bit when coming to stops. I will be calling the service dept tomorrow.

My 2022 Ford Maverick has a persistent issue with moisture accumulating on the front passenger floorboard, leading to a mildew smell that requires constant deodorizing. This problem has been ongoing since I discovered it around 18,000 miles. Despite taking the vehicle in three times, the issue remains unresolved. The technicians suspected a valve issue on the condenser, allowing moisture in, but couldn't provide a remedy. They mentioned a similar problem with the 2018 F-150, which was eventually resolved through a warranty/recall. I have found multiple online posts describing the same issue. I believe this is a pre-existing issue with all 2022 models. The floorboard gets wet after running the AC for a few hours in warm to hot weather. P.S. Ford conducted a pressure test and said it passed. No resolution for over a year.

My Maverick had water filled in the floor from heavy rain during transport. I waited 2 additional weeks to take delivery. Once I took delivery I was driving around with mold in the carpets on my vehicle for nearly 4 months. Then we had heavy rains again and the same problem resurfaced. I took my car for repair and they kept it for three weeks and returned it repaired. Over the past week-end the carpets are soaked once again with a bad mildew smell and possibly mold. At this point Ford must take some responsibility with this

Drove my car home and parked in my driveway with no issues. 9 hours later when I was about leaving for work, started the car but car won't start. I jumpstarted the car then all of a sudden the (Drive) Shift knob light was flashing, warnings started flashing, hill start assist not available, service vehicle soon, pre collision assist not available, service advance Trac, and parking brake applied automatically and total loss of power. When I pressed on the gas, it wouldn’t go and no throttle response. When I let off the brake and was NOT pressing the gas, it would start to accelerate all on its own up to about 28/29 mph all on its own, acting like it was in cruise control

The Dealer did not reveal the unresolved recall on this used vehicle during sales lot inspection. After I pointed out the recall listed on the CarFax report, the dealer did not address the concern nor mention if the recall had been resolved in order to make the used truck ready for resale. The Dealer did not explain how the recall may apply to this specific truck. This vehicle still has this recall active and unresolved at the Fritts Ford Dealership in Riverside, CA Auto Mall. Instead, pushed the Ford PremiumCare Extended Warranty which in the fine print does not include the engine, the battery, or recalls on any components. I have not purchased this vehicle and unlikely to do so at this time due to this serious and dangerous known risk to operating this 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid Truck.

On 4/27/24 Vehicle went into limp mode after driving for less than 90 seconds. Multiple various errors messages (powertrain, hill assist, collision, check engine) lit up, vehicle was accelerating on its own when in drive. No error messages prior to this incident. Similar incident happened around 3/10/23 while at Ford service for recall software updates but issue was not confirmed at that time. Vehicle is at Ford service now for second incident. Ford service states when the vehicle got a recall completed for the SOBDCM update, it triggered the vehicle to not update fully and causes the warning messages and can force the vehicle to go into limp mode and lose power.

I think it's a software issue. As of today, I've had the problem three times since having my BCM and PCM reprogrammed. The truck will suddenly loose power and go into some kind of limp mode. The dash screen starts throwing notices in quick succession: low gear only, check advancetrac, hill assist not available, powertrain malfunction/reduced power, pre-collision assist not available, the light indicating what drive mode (reverse, park, drive, etc.) starts flashing and then switches itself from drive to park, and then the parking brake turns itself on.

Just had a recall completed related to software programming in the past 3 weeks. Since then this has occured twice. While driving at highway speeds the vehicle quickly lost/reduced power and slowed down to 20 mph and produced a message that stated " Powertrain malfunction/Reduced power, engine service soon, and precollision assistance not available". This caused me to almost be rear ended and get into an accident with other vehicles on the road. It likely would have resulted in an accident/injury if not for light traffic that day. Ford has stated they cannot reproduce the issue.

My Ford Maverick is one of MANY that has a problem with mold. Mold is growing under the dash in the front passenger footwell. This issue is caused by a water intrusion. There is likely a manufacturing issue with the right front of the truck, which allows water in. The truck has had a problem with fogging up quickly since I purchased it new from Ford. My family's safety is at risk because the mold has led each of us to feel sick after riding in the truck. The truck is going in tomorrow for warranty work. Ford MUST recall every single vehicle that is effected. This is a serious health risk. Plus, the defective seam could fail in an accident, leading to injuries or deaths.
