2025 Ford Maverick Ventura, CA

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

While flat towing in Neutral Tow Mode yesterday, [XXX] (appx. [XXX]), we were headed west on [XXX] traveling at 55-mph in the #2 lane when the Maverick abruptly started screeching the tires and dragging behind our motorhome. I was able to safely get to the right shoulder within about 100-yards. We were 18-miles into the 104-mile journey to our home from the RV park in San Dimas. (Level ground.) I then got in the Maverick, placed my foot on the brake, started it and shifted to Park to take it out of Neutral Tow Mode. (It started right up)
I then received an error message on the display “Electronic Parking Brake needs servicing” I then unhooked the Maverick from the motorhome and successfully backed it up 50-yards along the shoulder and then drove it forward, the drive train seemed to be fine. At that point I decided to hobble home with my wife driving the Maverick, following behind the motorhome… when I located the next convenient offramp we pulled over to a side street where I drove the Maverick about 2-miles just to verify that it was drivable (other than the flat spots on the front tires.) I know that the EPB activates the rear brakes when stopped, however there aren’t any distinguishable flat spots on the rear tires. I understand that the EPB activates the hydraulic system when activated while in motion. This leads me to believe that the EPB activated on the freeway, causing the malfunction. When we safely returned home I connected the Maverick to the RV and flat towed for 5-miles without any problems. (Appx. 3:00pm) Other Possibility Possibly Neutral Tow Mode disengaged causing the drivetrain to lock up? But it was still in Neutral Tow Mode when I got in the vehicle to start it after the braking incident, and the vehicle doesn’t seemed to have drive train damage. (It drove the remaining 85-miles home without issue.) BlueOx Towing Setup (we have towed for 5,000 miles without issue) and BlueOx Patriot 3 supplemental brake system. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C.

2024 Ford Maverick Merritt Island, FL Crash

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

my daughter rear-ended another driver as she was entering a turn lane. Moments prior to the accident, she described what sounds like a brake booster failure. There was no indication the AEB system activated and only the airbag at her feet deployed. She hit the car in front of her at ~35 mph. 1. Brake system failure - yes, it is currently available for inspection 2. Car failed to stop and resulted in an accident. Luckily no-one was seriously injured. 3&4 car has not be examined by anyone, yet. Trying to figure out who best to look at the vehicle. 5 unknown

LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST

Clunking in the front end around 20,000 miles. Brought to multiple dealers and they all said no problem found yet clearly hear clunking both sides front going over bumps or steering back and forth quickly. Finally I just replaced them and noise gone. Second thing is headliner is completely ruined from moisture intrusion and can visibly be seen but dealer states no leaks present yet my headliner is water stained looking like those wet tiles in a school. Third is my transmission. It is very erratic when shifting and sometimes flares when downshifting. Dealers state no problems exist. Operates as designed, yet I have driven other mavericks and they do not have the same issues as myself. I have changed the fluid with genuine ford ulv transmission fluid from dealer at about 50k miles. I change my oil every 3k, changed my differentials and transfer case all with genuine fluid. I am an AAS Automotive Technology graduate and currently ASE certified and have worked in multiple dealerships replacing transmissions, engines, almost anything since I have started. I need to gather my records as I have kept receipts and records as I do all my own maintenance and repairs. I have replaced the downstream oxygen sensor twice. Yesterday morning I got a frozen throttle body and limp mode and if I did not have my scan tool I would have been stranded as it would not let me drive due to the stuck closed codes. All codes since I owned the vehicle with 3 miles on it are stored in my ford app and on my scan tool with vin. I have tried calling ford, email, different dealerships and they deny me or want me to pay out of pocket when I have warranty.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

I got out of my truck this morning once I arrived at work and the parking brake function unavailable message came on. I got back in and started the vehicle and Parking Brake Unavailable, Advanced Trac unavailable, Hill Descent Assist unavailable, ABS unavailable, and Forward Collision/ Lane-Keeping System unavailable messages were all on dash. Attempted to take my truck to Ford of Murfreesboro as there is a recall that is out on this issue for some 2025 Maverick EcoBoost trucks, even though it doesn't show up on my VIN, all symptoms on the recall I am experiencing. Ford of Murfreesboro service personnel was rude from the start and when I told them I didn't have an appointment, but feel like this is a safety concern they were quick to tell me it would be over a week before they could even look at it, and even if I had an appointment, it wouldn't be looked at for a week. Worst experience I have ever had with a dealership, and I will be an advocate that people DO NOT bring their vehicle to Ford of Murfreesboro if they want to actually be taken care of if their vehicle has any issues.

2023 Ford Maverick Vicksburg, MS

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

I took my vehicle in to have the transmission looked at. The dealership told me that the problem was resolved. While driving down the road the transmission went into park in the middle of a two lane road. When the vehicle came to a complete stop I was stopped in the middle of the lane and the vehicle transmission would not shift out of park. After getting it to another shop where it is currently located I was informed that the transmission needs to be replaced and that this is a problem that they are seeing in several Ford vehicles. I contacted Ford who stated that there are no current recalls for this problem. Obvious safety concerns are not being able to control the vehicle when it shifts to park while driving as well as being stopped in the middle of the roadway where a collision is likely.

2022 Ford Maverick New Orleans, LA

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

I was at a stoplight, when the light turned green I went to press the gas and the whole car lost power and died. The car stalled and would not turn over again. The vehicle had power but would not start the engine. All the alerts were flashing on the dash and the car would not go into neutral, so I was stuck in the middle of the roadway. I followed the procedures to activate the manual override and place the car into neutral and the vehicle would still not move. The electrical brake would not allow the vehicle to move. We tried repeatedly to put the car into neutral to move out of an active roadway and would be able to push the vehicle about an inch before the electrical break would kick in again. The vehicle would not start regardless of what was attempted. We even disconnected the battery in hopes of either getting the vehicle into neutral (which did not work either) or restarting whatever was wrong with the electrical system and be able to start the truck. Nothing worked and the vehicle had to be hoisted by pulley onto a flat bed tow truck. Then required to be "shaken" off of the truck when it arrived at the Ford dealership.

2022 Ford Maverick Arcade, NY Crash

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

When in adaptive cruise control the vehicle must of not seen the lines properly and started to steer towards the ditch. Then when trying to steer back onto the road the truck keep trying to steer into the ditch. The truck was fighting the drivers input even though the truck should deactivate the adaptive cruise control when manually taking over. The truck end up in the ditch and ran over a mailbox. The truck was inspected by Ford but they claimed nothing is wrong with it. It says in the manual that adaptive cruise control sometimes doesn't detect lines properly but when taking control the vehicle shouldn't continue to steer into a ditch. The Ford dealership were not able to get the same results because how can they when this problem doesn't happen all the time? The vehicle should not be fighting the driver instead it should of canceled the adaptive cruise control. It's very dangerous and I think needs to be looked into.
