My truck is intermittently having the camera display a warning code. While in reverse or while towing and trying to use the surrounding cameras. It happens randomly and almost caused accidents in parking lots. While towing I use it for lane changes and with non towing mirrors it’s a very dangerous issue that could cause an accident especially on the highway

I was driving at 45 mph and all of a sudden the screens went black as if the truck was turned off and the first thing I did was turn on the hazards because I didn’t know if the engine shut off either there was on coming traffic from both my front and back so I was scared my truck shut off 5-7 seconds later the screens turned back on and everything went back to normal but I was scared that my truck just turned off I made the dealership aware of this issue as soon as I pulled over and they said they had a busy schedule and that they would try to have a manager reach out to me to “squeeze me in” Mind you I just got my truck back from the dealership due to electrical issues and service yesterday and not even 24 hours later this happened so I am upset.

Pulled over truck wouldn’t go into reverse and wouldn’t shift correctly. Had my truck towed home called the dealership they said I will need to have it towed in. Several days later the check engine light was off I took the truck around the block it was running okay. Drove it the next day it did the same thing shook really bad shifted hard and wouldn’t shift correctly my go I took reverse. Had it towed to the dealership. The dealership said it was the same problem they are having on other trucks with this same transmission truck is out of warranty and GM will not cover the cost to fix it.

The Telematics Control Module failed - it no longer functions. This affects the ability to use OnStar services, such as navigation assistance, but especially OnStar emergency services which would be needed in case of a vehicle crash or other emergency. OnStar no longer works due to the module failure. There is a backlog of at least several months, or longer, before a new module is available. Many people complain that the replacement module often fails within a few months,

Multiple times now my vehicle has had its engine locked up while driving at highway and regular uphill driving. Along with towing aswell. I have had it repaired multiple times and last time dealer wouldn’t tell me what happened because GM wouldn’t let them figure out what happened. Along with multiple attempts at fixing the transmission and brakes that are still on going issue. Same with the engine.

This is in addition to the first report regarding my 2022 GMC Sierra SLT with 10-Speed Transmission. I had previously filed a complaint (NHSTA Tracking# 11728418.) regarding the OnStar and Internet quitting on me. Which was the Serial Gateway Module. I had reported that I was put off many times regarding a loner vehicle so i could get back and forth to my Oncologist for treatment of Head and Neck Cancer. And years of follow-up appt. with specialists Gastrointerologists and Cardiologist for serious issues incurred from 168 intense radiation treatments and Chemo. I had also taken my truck in for all scheduled maintenace intervals specified by the dealer and the manufacturer. "REPAIR ORDER GCCS504610" I had to leave it in the shop for 30 days for a defective Exhaust System, Radio, Charging Port, Remote Key Fob not able to unlock the truck so i could get in. And some other warranty/recall issues regarding my A/C blower and Seat cushion blower motor and Trailer Brake Switch, Fog Lamps running while daytime running lights were on - All Safety issues, My truck was @ Beck & Masten GMC for 30 days during these repairs, recalls and warranty. Will attach INVOICE 123532 to show consistant sheduled maintenance per GMC guidelines. Waited while this service was performed. "REPAIR ORDER / INVOICE 140542" Again my truck was back at Beck & Masten GMC (19 days) for the Serial Gateway Module and Radio not working AGAIN! Again, no OnStar, No Internet, No GPS. And, I reported the oil consumption and Add OIL light coming on; which was dismissed as idling too often (. I had to add 2 qts of oil between scheduled oil changes(The truck had only 13754 miles at this time) The LAST time I had anything to do with Beck & Masten GMC South was when I spent over months waiting on a loaner vehicle because I needed them to please look into still having an oil light coming on. And slipping and front end wobble just before the slipping/clucking and high RPM's that were dangerous- accident!!

Motor was replaced at 70000 miles it blew rear main on the technician. Now 30000 miles later saying it needs valve body its been in shop 5 weeks now and no ETA on parts. Also the onstar module went out or never worked after engine replaced. The truck has locked up 4 times before the engine was replaced once at 11000 miles. Had hard shifting issues from new dealership kept saying it just needed an update or tuned everytime until 100000 miles warranty was up. On my truck all the extras were were installed when they arrived. Heated and cooled seats. Heated steering wheel, park assist and something else however the truck was already out of manufacturers warranty before the 1st item installed at 50000 miles over a year after I had purchased. Everytime something was put on something else failed. And the grille started peeling immediately after I purchased vehicle and is almost completely gone.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the driver's side seat vibrated, and the automatic high beam feature disengaged, and the lane change indicator became inoperable. The message " Crash Sensor System Inoperable" was displayed. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to temporarily disconnect the battery. The vehicle was repaired out-of-pocket. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the failure was a maintenance issue, and the repair was at the owner's expense. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.

Electrical system…battery is completely dead after short in tailgate button. Yesterday afternoon I washed out the bed and tailgate. This is important to know as a result of my research. Several hours later I go out to the truck and the tailgate is open unexpectedly, thought I had left it opened. After going to dinner and shopping with family I tried to open tailgate with tailgate button and it would not work. After several attempts I then used my FOB button, worked. The next morning I go out and the tailgate is opened not by me, I closed it. Got to my destination put truck in park and tailgate opened by itself. I closed it. Went inside grabbed what I needed 15 min later go back to truck and tailgate is open..I close it. I go to start truck and battery is dead. Confirmed by battery plus in Medford oregon. Did some research and see that a recall has been issued for this same reason: N232426400 Tailgate May Open Unexpectedly. Yes the recall does not cover my vim however I believe this needs to be as a result of the cause and effect you have already confirmed. Today is Sunday. I will contact local gmc dealer though I wanted to start a formal process.

2022 gmc sierra The tailgate is electrical which cause safety awareness and concern due to the tailgate opening by itself. The tailgate seems to continuously electronically open and continue to release the latch causing the tail gate to open possibly loosing cargo from the bed or tailgate opening and hitting other vehicles that may park too close or cause damage on a hitch if available. It is a persisten issue and I have seen too many complaints. This should be looked at and recalled by manufacture or dealers it’s become a very common issues for gmc trucks and a lot of upset customers. I’m one of them.

The front forward-facing camera module has failed, causing cruise control and driver-assistance features to become inoperative. Dealer diagnosis indicates the front camera must be replaced and recalibrated in order to restore cruise control and safety systems. This failure disables cruise control and driver-assist features that were standard equipment on the vehicle at purchase, resulting in a sudden loss of functionality while driving. The dealer has provided a repair estimate of approximately $1,150, including parts, labor, and required calibration, at owner expense. Based on similar reports from other owners, this appears to be a recurring issue affecting this model year.

To start off my truck has been to the dealership multiple time for the camera. After third time in the shop they fixed that issue. Then the infotainment started acting up after about 4 times in the shop it was fixed. They gave me the prescribed fix for the engine recall in november. Engine passed the test. Then 3 weeks ago the engine siezed up from the crank and bearings on the interstate doing 70 pulling a trailer in traffic. Leaveing me and my dad in the middle of the interstate. I had to have it towed 2 hours to my house. After the prescribed engine fix. They replaced the motor in 3 days. Great right? No they did not test drive long enough. Or they would have felt the shudder that developed after the new engine went in. It is now about to go back to the shop. Because of the shudder at low rpm and im haveing electrical issues again as well . My remote start also stopped working after the engine replacement.

My TAILGATE kept opening randomly and ENGINE WAS MAKING CLUNKING SOUND initially. Lost many tools on the highway once when it opened. Dealership told me my truck is not covered under a recall for both issues, even though other similar vehicles are. I refused to pay anything to have it fixed. They claimed my truck “wasn’t built in the factory that has recalls”. A month later the STARTER AND BATTERY burned up when I started up the truck, something locked up it sounded like. Eventually it started but didn’t sound right. A few days later the engine finally blew up. I paid out of pocket for everything for that trip. It’s currently back at the dealer being repaired with a new engine for the recall but GMC refuses to pay for the initial clunking/starter/battery and the tailgate issues. I’ve encored so many charges with tows and rentals from all these issues. I would like full reimbursement for everything.

The windshield defroster and heater blower speed reduces and/or shuts off shortly after accelerating to highway range speeds. Blowing snow from Alaska roads will melt and refreeze on the windshield reducing visibility creating a safety hazard. The truck has not been successfully repaired after multiple and lengthy attempts. The heated steering wheel also malfunctions intermittently. The blower motor does seem to come back up to speed when vehicle speed is reduced to city speeds but is intermittent also.

1.)When driving the vehicle it will randomly shutoff while driving with loss of brakes and steering until it will randomly turn back on.The vehicle experiences intermittent electronic and drivability malfunctions. The issue appears to involve one or more vehicle control modules and/or electronic systems. At times, warning lights and system messages appear, and vehicle performance is affected. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2.)These failures create a serious safety risk because they occur without warning while driving. The vehicle may lose normal functionality, display multiple warnings, or behave unpredictably. If this occurs in traffic, at speed, or while maneuvering, it could increase the risk of a crash or leave the vehicle stranded in an unsafe location. Furthermore on 3 separate circumstances I came close to crashing the vehicle putting at risk lives in the vehicle and outside. 3.)The problem is intermittent and has been difficult to reproduce on demand. I have taken the truck to the dealership multiple times. The dealership has stated that because the issue is not actively occurring when they have the vehicle, they have been unable to duplicate the concern and have instructed me to continue driving it until the issue happens again. Despite this, the problem continues to return during normal use. 4.)The vehicle has been inspected by the authorized dealership on multiple occasions. To my knowledge, it has not been inspected directly by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. 5.)Intermittent warning lights and system messages appear, including at times a check engine light and other alerts. These warnings may appear suddenly as the truck shuts off and then disappear after the vehicle is turned off and restarted. Another thing to point out is that the audio and turn signal chime cut off randomly. The issue first began while the vehicle was already in normal use and has continued to reoccur since.
