The contact stated that after the front driver 's-side tire became flat, the contact discovered that the spare tire originally equipped on the vehicle failed to fit the front wheels but did fit the rear wheels. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that the spare tire failed to fit the front driver's side wheel due to a factory-installed brake modification, causing the spare to not fit over the front brakes. The dealer replaced the front driver's side tire. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The tire failure mileage was unknown. The vehicle failure mileage was 14,000.

To [XXX] to have my tires checked because i felt a strong vibration on my steering column and truck itself, it was getting worse so i took it to my mechanic who does my regular maintenance on truck. After inspecting Tire Goodyear Wrangler SR-A ( 275 55 R20) front passenger , mechanic informed me that the tire had separated from radial. And i need to get another tire right away, since there was non in stock we did the next best thing we took the front passenger tire the affected tire put it in the back and put the rear good tire up front. The next day i was on my way to purchase the replacement tire when the tire blew out. I was on a heavily traffic road [XXX] . I managed to take control of truck doing about 40 mph at the time and drove it off the road to a safer spot to look at damage. Well the passenger rear tire witch was originally on the front that had the separated radial blew a chunk out of the inner sidewall. I put on the spare and went and replaced the tire with another goodyear new tire. On march 28 as i was coming home from [XXX] Ca late at night the driver side rear tire blew as well again had to put on spare and next day took to local mechanics in [XXX] , and checked tire and again i was told that the tire separated from radial and that was the cause of blew out, they inspected all the tires at this point since this was the second tire from the same DOT set with less then 12000 miles that had separated. Well they found a third tire that had aldo separated and had a flat spot on driver side front tire, now there are 3 tires from the same set, coincidence, i dont think so i replaced the second and third tire. One the third day April 1, 2026 the passenger side front tire blew as well, now i have 4 tires that had radial separation with 2 that had blew out chunks from inner wall, with less then 12000 miles and less then a year old, in a mater of a month. While washing the vehicle, the contact became aware that the sidewalls on all four tires were cracked. The tires were the original equipment. The dealer was contacted and made aware of the issue; however, the contact was informed that the tires were not under warranty. The tires were not replaced. Tires are LT275/65R20. While driving on interstate at approximately the speed limit and low 80 degree temperatures in South Carolina with proper placard pressure tire inflation checked two days prior, the truck developed a faint vibration which got worse over three or four miles. I slowed my speed and pulled over at next offramp and visually inspected truck for signs of vibration. Including looking over tires. It seemed like a drive line issue, however truck is a 2021 model with only 38,000 miles. After I could not find anything out of place I got back on the interstate to see if problems still existed. I was only traveling at 45 mph and vibration was getting worse, so I tried to slow and make it to next offramp when the driver side tire blew out causing me to have to quickly react to prevent having an accident. The tire tread and multiple parts of the truck inner fender guards and liner were thrown out into traffic and truck bed side is badly damaged. Prior to blow out there were no warnings on the dash board to to indicate any sort of issue and I verified tire pressures when I stopped after the vibration initially set in. The TPMS system was working properly at the time of the blowout. I have the tire if further inspection is warranted. My safety was at risk when tire blew out on the interstate along with vehicles traveling around me to avoid hitting the flying debris and tire tread. Further this was driver side tire and I had to change the tire on the side of the interstate with traffic right beside my vehicle. I called GMC and they said they would do nothing to help because they see tires as a maintenance item and truck is out of warranty period. I am a mechanical engineer having worked many years for major tire company as a tire design engineer. I am very familiar with load ratings, tire wear, life expectancies, and I believe theis tires failed prematurely. I bought this truck new and have always had tires properly inflated a never overloaded.

I purchased a set of Firestone Destination A/T2 tires from Firestone in Southaven, MS. I had the tires for less than 16 months. I took the tires in for inspection & was told the treat belts had separated from the tires. The tires are a hazard. the tires are 275/55R20. Driving on the interstate, I had to pull over as it felt as though the truck would overturn/rollover. They must be recalled. I contacted Firestone, they were of little to no assistance. Unable to obtain a refund or credit. I googled info on firestone tires & a plethora of information exhibited the same thing, problems with tread separation.

The contact stated that while diving at various speeds and turning, the tires were rubbing against the sidewall. The coolant line blew out. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the thermostat and Oxygen sensor needed to be placed. Purchased the tires on 10-25-2021 and with only 16,000 miles on the 4 new tires; we have non-normal cracking on the side of the Thread. These tires are only 3 years old. P275/55r20 We are contacting the tire manufacturer and also the tire service center for help under the 60,000 mile warranty. Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3. The tires should not be cracking for any reason and should not be cracking due to dry rot or stress on the tire. Used on a 2018 GMC 1500 Serria.

In May 2022, I purchased four Cooper Discoverer A/T All-Season 117T 275/55/R20 tires from Walmart.com for my 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT. In May 2023 my vehicle developed a vibration when driving at certain speeds, so I took it to a GMC dealer for a tire rotation and balance. The mechanic discovered that one of the tires had a large bubble on the inner sidewall. He considered it such a safety risk that he insisted on removing the tire and replacing it with the spare before he would let me drive home. The tire was replaced with another of the same kind and tread depth. Yesterday (September 28 2023) I felt that my truck was wandering and swaying. I made an appointment for it to be inspected on Monday, and planned not to drive it until then. Today I observed that the rear passenger tire appeared low. I was shocked to find a split in the inner sidewall approximately one third of the circumference of the tire. I also found a large bubble on the inner sidewall of the driver's side front tire. I am shaken that I could have had three different tires blow out potentially killing myself and other motorists. I will be retaining the tires for inspection, and photographs have been taken. The manufacturer has been contacted. It seems that other model tires have been recalled by Cooper for the same issue, but I have not found a recall for this specific tire.

The contact stated that upon having the vehicle State Inspected, the State Inspector observed excessive dry rot to the tread of all four tires. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who confirmed the State Inspector's assessment however, the tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but required the contact to cover the cost of replacing the tires. The failure mileage was 15,000. The consumer stated that they were given a partial credit to buy a new set of tires of the same brand. They also stated that a recall should be placed on these tires due to the fact that the other set of tires has the same exact problem. The consumer is requesting a full refund so that they may purchase new tires from a different brand.
