FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system and multipurpose camera unit (part of Honda Sensing) on my 2020 Honda Fit malfunction intermittently. On some engine starts the camera and ACC function normally. On other starts the camera does not work at all and ACC is completely unavailable. The vehicle and the camera/related components remain available for inspection upon request. When the multipurpose camera fails at startup, Adaptive Cruise Control and associated Honda Sensing features are completely unavailable. This removes automatic distance control, forward collision warning, and related driver-assistance functions, creating an increased risk of collision, especially during highway driving or in traffic where those systems are relied upon for maintaining safe following distance and providing warnings. It is easy to reproduce. Sundevil auto sees it when servicing my car. I have spoken with many Honda dealers in the Phoenix AZ area and they all say that it happens a lot and that the only solution is to replace it. The failure is intermittent and occurs only on certain engine starts. On the starts when the system fails, the multipurpose camera does not function at all and Adaptive Cruise Control is unavailable. On other starts the camera and ACC work normally. No consistent prior warning lamps or messages beyond the complete non-function of the camera and ACC on the affected starts have been noted.

I had to fight the steering wheel to get the car to move to the left to get back on the road. This happened twice during busy rush hour highway traffic. The contact owns a 2019 Honda Fit. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the front camera located on the windshield became inoperable. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated with a beeping sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the front camera failed to function properly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the camera unit and the aiming driving support had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,419.

Multiple engine lights turned on at the same time: brake system warning, ACC problem, Auto High beam problem, Road mitigation system problem, LKAS problem. Lights turned on this past week. UNKNOWN cause. Went to official Honda dealership, oil was changed and given a multi-point inspection. Everything showed as Satisfactory, except for front brakes that showed as May require future attention. Battery test was fine and the sensors were cleaned. However, the engine lights still show. I do not feel safe driving my car, given the red solid warning of the brake system and multiple other problems. I am unable to drive car late a night due to the high beam problem, this all poses a safety concern to me and the other drivers on the road.

Started the car this morning and received 5 warning messages: Auto High-Beam Problem Road Departure Mitigation System Problem Collision Mitigation System Problem Lane Keeping Assist Problem Adaptive Cruise Control Problem Car has ~34,000 miles and is in pristine condition. I am guessing this is a failure with the camera system
