The front-left CV joint/drive axle system malfunctioned. A loud repetitive clicking began during turns at approximately 1,050 miles. The vehicle and components are available for inspection.The condition creates safety concerns because the vehicle sometimes feels unstable while turning and the steering/drivability regularly feels abnormal. The tires have also developed uneven wear, raising concerns about reduced traction and handling.Separately, the vehicle has twice unexpectedly lurched forward from a complete stop. During both incidents, One-Pedal Driving and Auto Hold were active, the Auto Hold indicator was illuminated, and the brake pedal was not being pressed because Auto Hold was maintaining the stop. The vehicle suddenly moved forward without intentional accelerator input, as though the brakes released. I immediately applied the brake. During one incident, the vehicle struck another stopped vehicle, causing significant damage to that vehicle. No damage occurred to my Prologue. These incidents occurred both before and after the CV joint replacement.Hendrick Honda Bradenton confirmed the clicking condition after I brought the vehicle in for service in February 2025. A replacement CV joint arrived and was installed in approximately March 2025. The dealership informed me that replacing the CV joint did not correct the problem. The clicking continues. I was subsequently told I could drive the vehicle without limitations and that there was no safety risk.The vehicle has been inspected by Hendrick Honda Bradenton.Manufacturer, police, insurance inspection details to be added if applicable.There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages before the clicking condition or either unintended-forward-movement incident. The clicking first appeared at approximately 1,050 miles.

2024 Honda Prologue, 434 miles outside of warranty, CV joints failing and requires over $1,000 out of pocket. This is known defect from the manufacturer and it just showed up a few weeks ago. There are hundreds of Honda customers with the same issue. Honda has not issued a recall and refuses to qualify it under the limited warranty.

On 7/16/26, while driving, I heard loud clicking noises when turning and sometimes while driving straight. I took the vehicle to Coggin Deland Honda for inspection and they determined that both driveshafts are broken and need replacement. The service advisor shared that this is an ongoing problem with 2024 Honda Prologues that are not being covered by warranty. He also shared that there is a class action lawsuit regarding this issue, because they knew about this issue when building the vehicle. We have filed a claim through Honda corporate. The safety of myself and children is at risk because I am no longer able to drive the car because it poses inherent risk which can cause a vehicle crash or even death. The vehicle component has been inspected by a Honda certified mechanic. The repairs cost around 2500. This is unacceptable and should be covered by the warranty.

On June 11, 2026, my 2025 Honda Prologue displayed a High Voltage System Alert immediately after I attempted to charge the vehicle. The vehicle would not accept a charge and became inoperable. I brought it to the dealership the same day, and the vehicle has remained there since. The dealership first replaced the charging port, but the vehicle still would not charge. On June 24, 2026, the dealership informed me that the transmission lines from the charging port to the battery needed to be replaced. Since that date, I have not received any updates, repair timeline, or confirmation that the issue is being addressed. The vehicle is currently unusable and cannot be charged. The high‑voltage alert indicates a potential electrical system failure involving the charging system and high‑voltage components, which may pose a safety risk. The defect has left the vehicle inoperable for over a month with no resolution.

My 2024 Honda Prologue (VIN [XXX]) only has 16K miles on this vehicle. Both front half-shaft CV joints are failing and have been failing for the last SEVERAL months by manifesting a persistent and worsening very loud clicking when loading and unloading the drive-train, driving up hill and executing any type of turn maneuver. I've complained numerous times to the Honda Dealership here in Seattle start 4Q 2025. They informed me that this has been an ongoing "known" problem with this specific model over the entire model 3 year offering from 2024-26, but at that time Honda America had no revised part number to effectively mitigate the problem. They initially replaced the failed CV half-shafts with the same part number, only to have those parts fail again. Honda America subsequently instructed all Honda dealerships maintenance depts to stop replacing these parts until a newly revise part number is released. I was instructed to contact Honda America at their national customer service at 800-999-1009. (My Case # [XXX]). I've spoken with at least 20-30 difference Honda reps over the last 6 months with no commitment to do anything to fix this potentially dangerous problem. When the outer CV joint completely fails, it could potentially turn into a pole-vault stick and literally flip the car at freeway speeds and definitely cause a catastrophic loss of control at freeway speeds or at any velocity/momentum whatsoever. The very disappointing fact is there is NOW a revised/vastly improved Part Number (Honda Part #86284282) that offers customers a fix to this very well known problem. Honda has not officially issued a recall so dealers are not able to perform this fix under warranty. My friend has this same car and her 2024 Honda Prologue is making this same exact clunking noise. Hi, yes the component is the CV axle on the driver side front wheel. Whenever I make a left turn, the driver side CV axle makes a clicking noise. Also, sometimes, when I make a right turn, especially when going slower, the same drive side front wheel CV makes a clicking noise. It is available for inspection upon request. The safety seems OK, but we are fearful that is could break and cause an accident. We brought the the car to the Honda Norm Reeves in Cerritos on April 3rd, 2026, and the dealership told us it was a common issue. And right now there are no parts available for it. It's not a safety issue, so we shouldn't worry about it. So we took them at their word. But we are still nervous about it so which is why we're reporting it. The vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. There were not any symptoms of warning lamps or messages of the problem prior to failure.

I’ve taken the car to the dealer ship 4 times Monday may 4 2026 was the last time I took it. I hear a sharp clicking noise when I make turns, indicating an issue with the CV joint. The car had this issue when I leased it brand new. On 04/15/2026, at approximately 13,130 miles, my 2024 Honda Prologue began making a loud, repetitive clicking, popping, and clunking noise from the front axle area. This mechanical noise is highly pronounced when turning sharply at low speeds, such as pulling out of a parking space or turning at an intersection. I took the vehicle to Delta Honda in Antioch, CA on 04/16/2026. They acknowledged the noise but refused to replace the part, citing Honda's guidance that this issue does not impact normal driving. I am filing this complaint because this is a severe safety defect. The CV joint is a critical drivetrain component, and these symptoms are classic indicators of premature mechanical failure. I am highly concerned that the CV axle could fail catastrophically while driving at higher speeds or in traffic. A structural failure of this component could result in a sudden loss of motive power, wheel lock-up, or a total loss of steering control, putting myself, my passengers, and other motorists at imminent risk of a crash. Honda's failure to provide a permanent, safe remedy for this widespread and known defect is unacceptable.
