On XXX while my daughter was driving this car on [XXX] outside of [XXX], the car caught fire and within minutes was engulfed in flames. My daughter and her boyfriend only had enough time to pull off the road and get out. The entire vehicle burnt to the ground. My daughter and boyfriend were minutes from burning to death in this car with no advanced warning or notification. The fire seems to have started near the gas filler cap. The ABS control module needs replacing. The day it started with issues, my abs light as well as esc light, at first. Later all dash lights came on, loud beeping and eventually lost all power while driving. I understand the "fuse" was replaced during recall, but if the damage was already in the making, why should consumer have to pay? I have had it to two different mechanics, first was hyundai dealer, both diagnostic ran, both same problem. Abs control module going out, interior failure!! My car only has 80,000!! Yes, it 12 year old vehicle, has had routine maintenance and garage kept. This is a safety issue and should be taken care of by dealer.

When driving, if you encounter even a small bump in the road, the car jumps as if it were a train jumping the tracks and getting back on track. If it's raining, it feels as though the vehicle is sliding across the road. (Finally, realizing that I WAS sliding across the road).

My engine failed after only 104k miles. I took my car in to get an oil change and it had rod knock which randomly started when I had oil already in the engine. This was just a random failure because it was completely find the day before and then the next day it started when I knew i was going to put more oil in in just in case and it failed.

Hyundai recall #251 was originally issued in late September of 2023. It is now almost 6 months since issuance and remedy has yet been transmitted to Hyundai dealer repair facility. It is very well accepted that the remedy will be to replace the ABS fuse, a fairly easy fix, but still no official letter or notice from Hyundai. Six months during winter months to keep car outside for safety is dangerous and unsafe in itself. Personal note - I love my Azera, but will definitely not buy another Hyundai because of their unacceptable delay in this recall repair.

2013 Hyundai Azera Willimantic, CT Fire

i was recently told my cam / crank sensor needed to be replaced, it was giving a code when the auto store plugged in the machine to the port. a few misfires also showed up. on september 6th 2023 at 715pm our car engines started to overheat, and then caught on fire. due to the fact we were homeless we lost our home. I have no idea why it caught fire or why it was over heating. The oil has been getting changed more often than when i first bought the car, the engine oil light came on once a few months ago, and the oil was low, i wasn't sure why it was doing this, especially since i had just recently had an oil change prior to this happening. As with the car fire, my recent oil change was on august 28th, the coolant was full. So i have no idea what was going on. The two mechanics that i took my car to do work on, never mentioned anything out of the ordinary. We are homeless the address is our mailing address. I do not have a phone because it was lost in the fire, along with my whole wallet, my social and any recent work that has been done on the car. the number being provided is my son's phone. it is there to reach me if needed. i would prefer to correspond though email if possible also.

The vehicle has a random, chronic no start issue. Everything appears to be working normally, and you will turn the key with no crank. All the dashboard lights work, everything is as normal except it wont turn over. The dealer will not help. They refuse to even attempt replacing parts with my approval, just to try to rule things out. Due to my own investigation into the problem, we have successfully replaced the transmission inhibitor switch twice with good results. That switch will not allow the engine to crank if the car thinks the transmission is not in park. The first time the repair worked for 1 year, and the second time 6-8 months. I'm having the problem again, not sure where to turn for help. Dealer is useless, local shops have no better ideas than I do.

The hydraulic hood lifting "hinges" did not hold the hood up. When I raised the hood to fill the window washer container, the hood fell, unhindered, on my left wrist, as I was taking the cap off of the filling tube. 2 seconds later it could have been my head as I would have been over the washer reservoir opening. The hand was very bruised, and the wrist was cut. (really hurt) Went to the dealer & he said this was the first Azera they had heard of with the problem but had seen several Sonatas with this problem. I believe the hydraulic lifters are the same, so perhaps the problem affects both models.

ON THREE (3) DIFFERENT OCCASIONS IN 2018 THE ENGINE OF MY AZERA, WITH A LITTLE OVER 21,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, SUDDENLY STOPPED ON THE HIGHWAY. I CONTACTED VALLEJO HYUNDAI TO LOOK AT IT AND DO THE NECESSARY REPAIRS BUT I WAS GOING TO BE CHARGED FOR IT AND I REFUSED TO PAY. EVENTUALLY, I ACCEDED TO THEIR DEMAND FOR PAYMENT. IT

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SEEMS LIKE IT IS SHORTING OUT. HAD TO UNHOOK RADIO AS IT WAS DRAINING BATTERY. IT SHORTED AND MAKES A SCREACHING SOUND WHEN ON. SEAT WAS COVERED BY RECALL. AUTO START NO LONGER WORKS. LIGHTS SHORTING OUT. NOW IT STARTS EVEN MOVES SOMETIMES BUT THEN LOSES ITS ACCELERATOR. YOU CAN PRESS THE GAS AND NOTHING HAPPENS. THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING, AND NOW WILL ONLY MOVE BY TRANSMISSION POWER. NO GAS PEDAL POWER AT ALL.

I WAS DRIVING ALONG ON I-95 WHEN I HEARD A LOUD, EXPLOSIVE POPPING SOUND. IT FREAKED ME OUT AT FIRST AS IT SOUNDED LIKE I HAD BLOWN A TIRE, BUT THE CAR DIDN'T SHAKE, BUMP OR SWERVE. I HADN'T SEEN ANYTHING IN THE ROAD I COULD HAVE HIT, AND I WASN'T DRIVING BEHIND ANY CONSTRUCTION TYPE TRUCKS DROPPING PEBBLES OR SAND. THE CAR WAS DRIVING AS IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED, SO I CONTINUED TO THE NEAREST EXIT. AS SOON AS I WAS OFF THE HIGHWAY, I PULLED OVER, GOT OUT AND SAW RIGHT AWAY THAT THE PANEL OF MY PANORAMIC SUNROOF THAT MEETS THE WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED, BROKEN AND MISSING PIECES IN THE LEFT AND RIGHT CORNERS, BUT ONLY HAD MINOR CRACKS IN THE CENTER. I WAS THINKING THIS WAS A VERY STRANGE PATTERN OF BREAKAGE IF SOMETHING LIKE A ROCK HAD HIT THE GLASS. I CALLED HYUNDAI ABOUT FIXING THE GLASS AND THEY TOLD ME THEY DON'T DO IT--THAT THEY HAVE ANOTHER COMPANY DO IT FOR THEM. THEY GAVE ME THEIR NUMBER, BUT WHEN I CALLED, THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DO IT EITHER. IT TOOK ME 4 OTHER CALLS TO FIND A PLACE THAT WOULD DO THE WORK. WHEN I SPOKE TO HYUNDAI AND EXPLAINED HOW I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO CAUSE THE PANEL TO BREAK, THEY MADE NO MENTION OF THE POSSIBILITY IT MAY HAVE EXPLODED. IT WASN'T UNTIL I GOT HOME THAT A FRIEND SAID SHE GOOGLED EXPLODING SUNROOFS AND FOUND ALL KINDS OF INFORMATION ABOUT IT, AS WELL AS CLASS ACTION SUITS. I HAVE SINCE FOUND OUT THE NEW PANEL COSTS $215 AND APPROXIMATELY $80 TO INSTALL. I AM HAVING THE REPAIR DONE RIGHT AWAY AS I CAN'T DRIVE AROUND LIKE THAT. I LIVE IN FLORIDA WHERE IT RAINS WITHOUT NOTICE AND I WOULDN'T WANT TO DAMAGE THE SUNROOF MOTOR OR ANYTHING ELSE BY GETTING IT WET. FORTUNATELY THE SUNROOF WAS CLOSED WHEN THIS ALL HAPPENED AND I HAVE NOT OPENED IT TO SEE IF THERE IS GLASS INSIDE EVERYWHERE BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO CREATE FURTHER DANGER OR MESS.

WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE BUYING OUR HYUNDAI AZERA, I WAS HORRIFIED TO FIND THE HEADLIGHTS WERE BARELY VISIBLE AND POINTING AT THE GROUND. I HAD TO DRIVE WITH THE BRIGHT LIGHTS ON. EVEN AFTER THE DEALER ADJUSTED THEM WE CONTINUE TO HAVE TO USE THE BRIGHT LIGHTS FOR SAFE DRIVING. IT APPEARS THE INSIDE OF THE LENS COVERS, IN FRONT OF THE REGULAR BULBS, ARE SEVERELY SCRATCHED OR CLOUDY SO THE LIGHTS CAN'T ILLUMINATE THE ROADS! THIS SEEMS LIKE A SERIOUS FLAW FOR NIGHT DRIVING. WE ARE OFTEN ON TWO LANE ROADS THAT ARE HILLY AND CURVY, WITH THE OCCASIONAL DEAR CROSSING IN FRONT OF US, AS WELL AS ONCOMING CARS. IF WE DIM OUR LIGHTS FOR THEM, WE LITERALLY CAN'T SEE THE ROAD IN FRONT OF US, AND PRACTICALLY HAVE TO STOP UNTIL THE ONCOMING CAR GOES BY. WE INQUIRED, AND WERE TOLD THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT UNIT WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND IS VERY EXPENSIVE. BOTH SIDES ARE BAD. PLEASE HELP! THERE IS ALSO A STRANGE NOISE FROM UNDER THE CAR, A SQUEAK AND LOW THUMPING SOUND WHEN ON THE INTERSTATE. WE HADN'T EVEN MADE OUR FIRST CAR PAYMENT WHEN WE BECAME AWARE OF THESE ISSUES. THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE HAD TO HAVE THE FIREWALL SIDE CONVERTER AND TOP 2 SENSORS REPLACED AT THE HEFTY PRICE OF $815.95.

THIS VEHICLE HAD BEEN SAME ISSUES FROM VERY BEGINNING AFTER PURCHASED YR 2013. SHAKING ENTIRE VHEHCLE EVERY MORNING AND EXHAUST FURNES SO I TOOK SEVICES SEVERIAL TIMES ON DEALER SHOP ON PHARR,TEXAS. NOTHING CHANGED AND NOTHING IMPROVED THEY JUST MENTIONED IT CAME FROM ORIGINAL ENGINE DESIGN AND TYPICAL PROBLEMS BUT NOTHING SERIOUS. OCT.24TH 2017 DROP OFF MY CAR AT THE DEALER SHOP AT PHARR,TEXAS AND THEY DID DIAGNOSIS AND REPLACED SOME PARTS OF THE ENGIN DAY BY DAY. HOWEVER THEY STILL DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS ROOTS CAUSES UNTIL TODAY. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THAT HOW THEY DIDN'T NOTICED ROOTS CAUSES AND THEY JUST KEEP MY CAR ON THEIR PARKING LOT AND THEY WOULD NOT TOLD ME RESOLVED DATE!

TAKATA RECALL. THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME. THE TIRE TPMS LIGHT ALWAYS COMES ON SAYING IT FAILING. WHEN DRIVING THE CAR IS SHIFTING FUNNY, SOMETIMES IS JOLTS FORWARD AND SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY. CAR WAS ALSO JUST STALLING OUT AT STOP LIGHTS. IT HAS NOT DONE THAT IN A LITTLE WHILE BUT IT GOES THROUGH SPELLS WHERE IT WILL DO IT EVERY TIME I COME TO A STOP. I DO NOT HAVE AN EXACT DATE WHEN EVERYTHING STARTED.

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM, THERE ARE FREQUENTLY ERROR CODES REAPPEARING WITH RELATED RELATION TO THIS VITAL SAFETY FEATURE. WHILE THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY THE DEALERSHIP HAS ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE ISSUE SEVERAL TIMES, AND YET THE ERA CODE STILL REAPPEAR. THEY ARE UNWILLING TO REPAIR THE TPMS ERROR LIGHT THAT CONTINUES TO APPEAR. IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE CARS TMPS SYSTEM.
