The front sunroof on our 2023 Hyundai Palisade shattered without any impact and caused a huge explosive sound. When we went outside the car to see if there was any rock or debris, there was no sign of any rocks or debris which caused the front sunroof of our car to shatter. The glass from the shattered sunroof could have possibly hurt us seated in the front seat or could have injured our one year old and six year old kids seated in the middle row.

I received a recall notice on 3/19/2026 which stated my 2023 Palisade failed to meet safety standards due to "ejection mitigation." I called Hyundai directly for information after the dealership I purchased the car from had no information for me. Hyundai's customer service representative told me the third row was not safe for occupants and that I should not use it because in a roll over it could cause injury or death. She said there haven't been any reported yet but still, don't use it. They did not have a timeframe when it would be fixed. I called my dealership again on 5/20/2026 and asked for any information, compensation, a buyback, or if anything was available to me and they said "we are in the same boat as you. We haven't been able to sell our stock for 4 months. You've only had your notice for 2 months but we've been dealing with this for 4. Some people have been trading their cars in but other than that, there's nothing we can do for you." They said to call Hyundai directly. I called Hyundai and was told there was no information, no remedy, no compensation for the loss of use, no loaner car, or any other options. The representative then said "unfortunately we also cannot escalate your case because there have been no fatalities yet." I'm filing this complaint because it has been over 60 days since I received notice that my vehicle is unsafe, which has resulted in the total loss of use for 3 seats and yet I am still making the full monthly payments on this vehicle to the dealership. And, neither the dealership nor Hyundai is offering any remedy or assistance in any way. I should not have to wait until there is a fatality for Hyundai to act on my vehicles recall and offer some sort or resolution or compensation. I paid full price for the vehicle and should have use of all the vehicle or be given an alternative. Thank you

The safety sensors mounted on the front of the car seem to disable frequetnly. I belive it is the bumper sensors. I read it is a known issue that they disable when it's snowing/raining/mud. I cleaned them off and took a 3 hour drive in clear weather, dry roads. they would disable and then come back on intermittently through the drive.. drive started in day time and ended in the evening. When they are disabled the cruise control will not work and then the car just starts to slowly slow down on the the highway. On the drive back, it was daytime, roads were clear, no inclement weather and it did the same the whole way back. periodally disable and then come back on.

I am reporting a safety concern regarding my 2023 Hyundai Palisade (VIN: [XXX] ). My vehicle is associated with recall-related safety concerns. I have been informed that there is currently no available remedy or timeline to address the issue. This places me in a position where I am expected to continue driving a vehicle that may have a known safety risk, without any resolution available. I do not feel safe transporting my family in this vehicle, and I am concerned about the risk of injury if the issue were to result in a failure while driving. I have attempted to work directly with Hyundai Motor America; however, I have not been provided with a meaningful resolution or alternative option. I was also informed that there is no current fix available. This is not simply an inconvenience—it is a safety concern involving a vehicle that I rely on daily. I am requesting that this complaint be documented and reviewed as part of any ongoing investigation into this issue. I am reporting a serious and ongoing safety issue involving my 2023 Hyundai Palisade that is currently unresolved and directly impacts the safety of my children and passengers. My vehicle is subject to an open safety recall (Recall 292 – ejection mitigation) for which there is currently no available remedy. In addition to this unresolved recall, I am experiencing an active failure of the seatbelt system. The seatbelts do not consistently latch and/or will not remain securely latched, creating an immediate risk to occupants. Replacement seatbelt components were ordered in January, and I have been informed they are on backorder with no estimated timeline for repair. As of today, the issue remains unresolved. This situation presents a severe safety concern. The vehicle has compromised occupant protection systems, including both restraint failure (seatbelts) and an open recall involving ejection mitigation. I regularly transport children in this vehicle and cannot rely on the safety systems to function properly. I have contacted Hyundai Motor America and opened a case to resolve this issue. However, Hyundai has not provided a repair, has not provided a safe alternative vehicle, and has not offered a viable solution. I was offered rental reimbursement, but I am unable to pay out of pocket for a rental vehicle upfront, and the reimbursement limit does not cover a comparable vehicle suitable for transporting my family. As a result, I am being left with no reasonable or safe option: either continue operating a vehicle with known safety defects or assume financial burden that I cannot afford in order to obtain temporary transportation. I am requesting that this issue be investigated, including: * The delay in remedy for Recall 292 * The failure and parts shortage related to seatbelt systems * The lack of manufacturer support for consumers facing active safety risks This vehicle is not safe for normal use under current conditions.

The steering wheel clunks and locks when turning at low speeds or when ISG turns the car back on. At times, it is a hard enough jerk to pull it out of my hands. It was taken to the dealership multiple times. The coupler was replaced, but it still jerked the steering wheel. The dealership in Utah could not replicate the sound, even though it occurs multiple times a day at this point. Loss of the ability to steer after sitting at a light poses a huge safety issue between not being able to immediately navigate upon accelerating or when turning left at an intersection.

When moving forward at very slow speed, the steering wheel bounces as if it had been hit by something and we hear a loud "thunk". The whole front end of the car vibrates. This has also happened once while completely stopped at a traffic signal. This has been happening for several months, and we know that others have reported the same problem, but the dealer is unresponsive. We are worried that the steering could fail at speed, and are losing confidence in the car.

At low speed, and today for the first time completed stopped at a stop sign, we here and feel a very loud "thunk" through the steering wheel and coming from under the front end of the vehicle. It's very loud and jerks the steering wheel when it happens, and can be felt through the car seats as well. The whole vehicle seems to shake. This has happened so far approximately ten times, and we are losing confidence in the car's safety. The dealer told us that he had not heard of this problem, but we know that to be untrue, because a simple google search reveals that it is a known issue.

Our vehicle has yet another active recall, without a remedy. The vehicle is “unsafe in event of a crash in the third row”. I specifically bought this vehicle because I have children and need the third row. We spent 40 days with a rental vehicle in December because of a recall with a seat belt that had no remedy and are again having to request a rental. Hyundai is denying our claim for a buyback because of this new issue, which is unacceptable. This vehicle is unsafe. Hyundai cannot fix it. There needs to be a buyback.

I was driving on the highway at about 65-70 MPH and the sunroof spontaneously shattered. It sounded like an explosion. No object hit the car. We were in Nevada and the outside temp was in the mid 60s. The inside air conditioning was set at 69. We pulled over to inspect and take a picture. I have read about numerous complaints of this happening going back to the 2021 models and as recently as the 2024 models. We had the shade closed, but if it were open glass could have sprayed all over the car and into my passengers eyes, faces, etc. It is scary and dangerous.

The steering wheel locks briefly when the Idle Stop and Go (ISG) system restarts the vehicle. This happens intermittently, about 50% of the time. It has affected the ability to steer the vehicle properly when turning at a traffic light after the ISG system has initiated an engine shutdown and subsequent restart. This issue has been reported to our local dealership, but the technicians were not able to reproduce the issue. We have also experienced a complete loss of electrical power in the vehicle with the ISG system a few times. Unfortunately, there is no way to permanently deactivate the ISG system; the auto stop button must be pressed every time the vehicle is used to deactivate it for that trip.

I was driving my 2023 Hyundai Palisade at 75 mph on I25 in Northern Colorado when I heard a terribly loud noise like an explosion above my head. I jerked but kept control of the car. My immediate thought was that something dropped on my roof but I wasn't under an overpass. Frantically looking in all directions, I saw something dark flying in the air towards the side of the road. At the same time, motorcycles traveling behind me were moving out of my lane. I pulled over and found my Sunroof had instantaneously exploded outwards. There were bits of glass everywhere. It was certainly a startling driver safety issue that caused me to jerk the wheel. At highway speeds, it is fortunate that I didn't lose control or roll my vehicle. If the inside sunroof cover had been open as it is most of the time, bits of glass would have exploded all over the inside of the car showering the driver and passengers, including their faces and eyes. It was a terribly dangerous situation. I immediately reported it to my dealer who would not even look at the car. The dealer said they don't deal with glass. They recommended a glass installer, Anders Glass. Anders didn't deal with sunroofs. They sent me to NOVUS Glass who inspected, sealed up, then ordered and replaced the unit with a used sunroof. The problem couldn't be reproduced because the sunroof was shattered. There are no glass warning lights. No other warning lights, messages or symptoms appeared before or after the sunroof spontaneously exploded outward.

I was driving down a 4 lane highway at 70mph with no landscaping, cars or trucks around me what so ever and my sunroof imploded on me. Luckily my sunshade was closed. The glass was domed outwards like pressure from inside the cabin pushed it out and shattered into tiny pieces. Hyundai is aware of this issue but is not willing to cover it under warranty. My vehicle isn't even 3 years old and has less than 30,000 miles on it. I bought this vehicle due to all the great reviews about the warranty, well now that I need something fixed under warranty, they are not willing to help me out.

Leased vehicle in 2023 after a few months rear suspension was giving problems after a year of ignoring claims they saw the rear bushings were out. They changed it and after a few months again the problem came back more permanent. They admitted the part was faulty. Change the suspension and now it sounds like a space ship when breaking. Went in for 30k maintenance and now the ac vents sound like a plane. Two days later after a storm I see the roof is leaking and rear sunroof is also leaking. Since the near three year ownership it has been problem after problem not cause by me but by poor quality management at the dealer.

The way this vehicle is designed, the angle of the lower screen that controls the ac is at the perfect angle to blind its drivers at times of sunset and sunrise and even some times between the two. This can happen no matter which cardinal direction you are traveling. I am blinded on a curvy road I drive every day to pick up my child to school. Its to the point where I have to completely cover the lower controls due to this reflective blinding.

I noticed my right rear tire skidded on the road when I turned. Went to dealer. They didn't find anything. Leaving a drive through once I hit the other road crossing my tire did the same. It felt like the break was not releasing. Yesterday leaving my driveway we slowed down and both rear tires felt like you were dribbling a ball. As if the breaks were going on and off. It was less than 15 seconds but it was scary. I read an article where in other states other Palisades are having the same issue and they were not repaired. It has to do with the abs per the article. No warning signs pop up on my dashboard. I'm glad I don't drive fast. I'm worried something worse can happen. I did not report to police there was no accident.

My Ongoing Car Leak Issue Ongoing issues in my vehicle’s moon roof. •Late September 2024: I first noticed water leaks in the front and rear of the moon roof. •[XXX]: Took to Wilson County Hyundai. They claimed to find no leaks. •[XXX]: The leak was evident again. I took it back; they acknowledged a factory defect in a drain tube and claimed to have repaired it. •[XXX]: I took it to a different dealership “Hickory Hollow Hyundai”, They were unable to replicate the leak. They suggested I record a video of it during the next rain event. So I did on [XXX]. See: [XXX] •December 11th: Frustrated with the lack of progress, I filed a formal complaint with Hyundai Customer Service, receiving case number #[XXX]. Hickory Hollow Hyundai then then told me to bring the car back in for repairs. As of Jan 16th: •Hyundai of Hickory Hollow said it was fixed and allowed me to come pick up the vehicle. They also said they had tested it thoroughly and there is no longer a leak. I brought the vehicle home and waited for the next rain so I could see for myself. As of January 27: •It rained less than .25 inches last night, but when I drove the vehicle this morning it leaked in both the front and rear. I did make a video of the leak, which is at: [XXX] As of February 1: •It has been 115 days since I first took the vehicle in for a leak repair. •There have been four (4) repair attempts and more leakage. •This has caused a very dangerous situation for my family. I was driving about 40mph on a sunny, dry day, and approached a red light. I depressed the brake, and rather than stopping, the brake vibrated and the car continued to coast an additional 2 car lengths. On a second occasion, about 2 months later, I was driving about 25mph on a sunny, dry day, and I came to an intersection. I applied the brake, and again, rather than stopping, the brake vibrated and the car coasted into the intersection. There was a car coming, so I had to honk the horn repeatedly to alert the other driver that my car was not stopping. I took the car to the dealership. They have been unable to reproduce the problem, so they insist that nothing has happened and they want me to take the car back.

Leased vehicle in September 2022. In December 2022 Apple Car Play stopped functioning. This was a safety issue as when driving to a destination all of a sudden it stopped working so the GPS directions stopped and the calls would not come through either over the Bluetooth so we had to fumble with the phone. Also when this would happen the car’s NAVI system would not work or even load. Numerous visits to the dealer in 2023 and they were never able to figure out the issue. They changed the radio unit and it would work for a while and stop again. In January 2024 it worked for about 3 months then stopped again in April 2024. Over the last month the car’s NAVI system has stopped working completely and today the car would not start. AAA came over and the battery is dead and they suspect there is an electrical problem draining the battery as usually batteries last 3-4 years. As I explained numerous times to the dealership in 2023 this is a safety issue where many times my wife who mostly drives the vehicle with our kids would be driving using the Apple car play which would then disconnect as well as the Bluetooth voice for calls and sometimes could not on side of the road. We will be towing the car to the dealership and ask them to replace the battery but diagnose all electronics as if this not fix once and for all it will drain the battery again. We need a resolution to this safety problem.
